A Christmas Mini Story

It was three months since Jennifer and her friends had saved King Miracle from the Darkness Master.

King Miracle, Queen Berry and the company of friends were visiting Earth. They had gathered in the Childrens' Summer Camp that Jase had set up near Banff, Alberta in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

In her cabin, Queen Berry noticed a children's story book about the First Christmas that belonged to Kinipela. She also saw another book called the Christmas Nutcracker which belonged to Jennifer.

Jase was setting up a stage in the Main Hall in the central area of the camp so people could sing Christmas carols. Jennifer and Kinipela were out shopping for sweets, drinks and lots of presents for the children.

"Hey Jase, what are you doing?" asked Chuckles.

"YEAH! AND WHERE YOUR SISTERS?!" shouted Gerald from across the hall.

Jase sighed.

"I'm setting up the stage for tomorrow night which will be Christmas Eve. Jennifer and Kinipela are out shopping." said Jase.

"Aaaah," said Chuckles and Gerald in unison.

Soon after that Jennifer came in with a bunch of shopping.

"Jase, Kinipela and I need help with putting away the shopping," said Jennifer.

Jase knew that he still had much to do at the camp, and he also realized that he needed to go out and buy a big Christmas Tree.

"Alright, I'll go and help Kinipela in the kitchen, but I want you to stay here," said Jase, looking at Jennifer. "You need to practise for tomorrow night."

"What do I need to practice for?" pouted Jennifer. "I think I'm ready!"

"You still need to practice for tomorrow night," answered Jase firmly "It has to be perfect!"

"Okay, I'll go and practice some more," answered Jennifer reluctantly.

With that Jennifer went upstairs to practice singing while Jase headed out to help Kinipela with all of the shopping.

A few hours later…

Jase drove out to buy a big Christmas tree from a farm outside of Calgary while Kinipela was putting out all the baking ingredients in the kitchen.

"HEY JENNIFER, COME AND HELP ME WITH THE BAKING!" shouted Kinipela so Jennifer could hear.

"ALRIGHT, I'M COMING!" shouted Jennifer from across the campground.

A second later Jennifer came running into the kitchen to help Kinipela with the baking.

Meanwhile, Gerald was wandering around the campground. He came to the kitchen in the Main Hall, where he saw Kinipela, Jennifer and lots of baking ingredients laid out on the counter. He immediately became greedy, because Gerald liked nothing more than gingerbread cookies, fruitcake and hot chocolate.

Kinipela saw the greedy look on Gerald's face.

"Gerald, what are you thinking?! Please wait to come in here until Jennifer and I have finished baking!"

At that moment, Jennifer, overhearing what Kinipela had said, added "No way we are eating ANY of the baking until Christmas morning or Jase will get mad at us!"

Gerald's face fell.

"But I wanted some today!" he pouted.

"Out you go, Gerald," said Jennifer. "You can wait just like everyone else."

Gerald turned and walked out of the kitchen, still looking really disappointed.

Kinipela and Jennifer put on their aprons and the Christmas baking extravaganza began.

Jennifer baked gingerbread cookies and houses and even created a First Christmas scene out of gingerbread.

She continued working very hard, creating even more scenes with gingerbread.

First, she made a Christmas tree with presents, then created a choir of angels, and finally Santa delivering presents. Then she went to help Kinipela who was finishing the fruitcake.

They both decided to bake some pies. Jennifer made apple and cherry pies and Kinipela made pecan pie. Afterwards they made a lot of sweets including cookies and chocolate-dipped fruit.

Little did Jennifer and Kinipela know that Gerald was waiting for them to leave the kitchens so he could sneak in and take all of the sweets as well as some hot chocolate.

Finally, Jennifer and Kinipela, taking their aprons off and leaving the baked goods to cool, decided to go to bed.

Shortly after that, Jase came back to the camp with a big Christmas Tree and set it up in the Main Hall. He'd also bought more baking ingredients, which he took into the kitchen after setting up the tree.

As he walked into the kitchen, He saw all the baking that Jennifer and Kinipela had made, but when he looked more closely, he noticed some and some of the baking was missing and other baking had wild duck bite marks in it.

"Gerald!" Jase thought to himself. "That duck can't leave sweets alone!"

Jase went to his cabin and grabbed his sleeping bag so he could guard the food from Gerald. He decided to spend the night in the hallway between the gymnasium and the kitchen.

At one in the morning, Gerald woke up. Even though he had already eaten a lot, he felt hungry again and started walking towards the kitchen.

Gerald heard loud snoring between the hallway and the gymnasium. He looked down and saw Jase sleeping. He cursed very loudly, waking Jase in the process.

"What the heck!" said Jase as he jumped up. He turned on the lights, and saw Gerald standing in the hallway.

"Are you here for something sweet?" asked Jase.

Gerald just shook his head to answer no. Jase did not believe Gerald because he knew Gerald had already been stealing sweets.

Gerald paled white as a ghost because he knew Jase was getting ready to punish him. He waved goodbye and started to run with Jase following right behind him.

Jase knew as he chased Gerald out of the kitchens that Gerald would try to hide in the ventilation shafts. He stopped chasing Gerald and went to find marbles and mouse traps to keep Gerald way from the kitchen.

Returning with the marbles and the traps, Jase started climbing into the shafts, carefully closing off all the ones that led to the kitchen. Then he put the marbles in the shafts closest to Gerald's bedroom, and set mouse traps in the Main Hall on the floor. Afterwards he went back to the hallway and curled up in his sleeping bag to get some sleep.

A few minutes later, Gerald quietly sneaked into the shaft near his bedroom, unaware of the traps that were waiting for him.

First, Gerald's feet hit the marbles and he fell backwards towards his room

with a loud…

CRASH!

Gerald lost his temper but quickly headed back into the shaft. He climbed out of the shaft and made his way toward the Main Hall and kitchen. It was very dark. A few minutes later he heard a loud…

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

Gerald was holding his breath, trying not to scream because he suddenly had mouse traps on his hands and feet.

"OWWWWW!?" screamed Gerald as he was jumping around shaking off the mouse traps and waking everyone up in the process. As he shook his hands and feet, the crumbles of all the stolen goodies dropped off his clothes.

Hearing the commotion, everyone ran from their rooms into the Main Hall.

Jase saw Gerald leaping around and also saw what was dropping off his clothes.

"Having a few midnight snacks, Gerald?" asked Jase. He was disappointed in Gerald, to say the least!

Gerald was now very guilty for eating the baking and he was ready for punishment from Jase.

"Gerald, you are going to help me and Kinipela with the big Christmas tree at nine in the morning." said Jase.

"NO, I WILL NOT!" shouted Gerald with anger. He was still smarting from the mouse traps.

"Fine, how about no goodies or hot chocolate for you then," said Jase with his arms crossed.

Gerald paled at thought of no hot drink or food on Christmas Eve. He knew that Jase was actually serious, because Jase did not look pleased.

"Alright," said Gerald, admitting defeat. "I will help you and Kinipela tomorrow morning."

"Good, now everyone should go back to bed." said Jase.

With that, everyone went back to bed.

Early the next morning on Christmas Eve, Jase, Gerald and Kinipela got up early and carried boxes full of Christmas ornaments to the big tree.

When Gerald saw the big Christmas tree, he pointed at it and suddenly fainted with surprise at how big the tree was.

Kinipela had to throw three snowballs at Gerald to revive him.

"URG" grumbled Gerald as the snowballs hit him.

Gerald and Kinipela went to work on decorating the big Christmas tree. Jase went to wake up Jennifer so she could make more gingerbread houses and cookies.

On other side of the campground, Jennifer was just waking to the sound of her cellphone alarm clock when she heard knocking at her bedroom door.

"JENNIFER, ARE YOU UP YET?" shouted Jase.

"YES, I AM!" shouted Jennifer.

Jennifer walked to her bedroom door and opened it, letting in her brother Jase.

"Hey, Jennifer, I need you to bake a lot more cookies and cakes because Gerald ate a lot of the sweets." said Jase.

"SAY WHAT?" Jennifer reacted, dumbfounded.

"You heard me," said Jase.

"All right, I'll get dressed and head to the kitchen." said Jennifer.

A few hours later…

Jennifer was baking and making more houses and cakes with help from Queen Berry and Pansy while the others were busy decorating the big Christmas tree.

Gerald's nephews Sean, Matt and Joe had just arrived and were out playing in the snow, minding their own business.

Gerald looked out the window and saw the boys playing. He quietly tiptoed towards Kinipela.

"Kinipela, let's start a snowball fight against my nephews," said Gerald.

"Without Jennifer and Jase knowing? We're supposed to be decorating and could get into trouble with them once they find out what we are up to," said Kinipela.

Gerald nodded. He was already in trouble and did not want Jase to get mad at him again. They looked around for Jennifer and Jase who they discovered were busy with other things.

"I know Jase," said Kinipela. "He'll be getting ready to snowboard in the mountains. He does that every Christmas Eve."

Jase had just decided to let everyone to take a break for four hours.

He let everyone know about the break and went back to his room, where he started changing into his snowboard jacket and pants. He grabbed his boots and snowboard, jumped in his truck and headed towards the ski resort.

Meanwhile, King Miracle, Queen Berry, Pansy and Chuckles went ice skating while Gerald, Kinipela, and Jennifer joined Matt, Joe and Sean for a big snowball fight.

The snowball group decided to play Capture the Flag as part of their snowball fight.

Jennifer and Joe dashed to their snow fort with their flag, with Matt and Sean running close behind them. Jennifer was covering her partner's back as Joe held the flag in both hands.

Meanwhile, Kinipela and Gerald, having come from the kitchen with a new plan, were hiding behind the snow fort with four plastic plates of whipped cream.

Suddenly they leaped up and threw the plastic plates at Jennifer, Joe, Matt and Sean.

"HEY, WHAT THE HECK!" said Jennifer with her face covered in whipped cream.

"We are covered!" said Matt, Joe and Sean in unison, wiping the cream off their faces.

All four of them heard laughing coming from a distance.

"Kinipela and Gerald, what the blazes are you two doing?" asked Jennifer. She was clearly not happy and began to reprimand them.

"The whipped cream was for tonight, you stupid knuckle heads!" said Jennifer.

When Jase came back from snowboarding, he immediately noticed whipped cream on Jennifer, Matt, Joe and Sean's winter jackets, which were now hanging in the hallway.

"Is that our whipped cream? Explain yourselves!" said Jase.

"We were playing Capture the Flag in a snowball fight and then Kinipela and Gerald jumped up from behind a snow wall and threw the cream at us." said Jennifer.

Jase went outside to look for the culprits.

Kinipela and Gerald paled and tried to tiptoe away before Jase could notice them.

Unfortunately for Kinipela and Gerald, Matt had accidentally dropped a banana peel on the ground.

Gerald promptly slid on the banana peel, bumping into Kinipela. He threw his arms around her and ended up carrying his partner in crime all the way into the rocks by the lake. All the cans of whipped cream flew out of their pockets as they slid.

Jase saw this and he was even angrier with Kinipela and Gerald.

Jennifer went to pick up the banana peel and took it back with her into the kitchen. She was ready to do more baking.

Queen Berry had found a book with the first Christmas Story. She went to find Jennifer and ask her to read the story to her.

"Hi Jennifer," said Queen Berry as she walked into the kitchen.

Jennifer stopped what she was doing.

"Yes, your Majesty, is there something you need?" Jennifer asked.

"Yes," said Queen Berry. "Could you please read this story to me?"

"Sure, I'll ask Pansy to work on the dinner." said Jennifer. She went to find Pansy.

"Pansy, can you prepare our Christmas turkey stuffing with bread crumbs? I am sure that Jase will be back soon to help you.

"Yes, I will." said Pansy cheerfully.

Just then, Jase returned. He had already given Gerald and Kinipela a hard time because of their behavior. He started taking off his jacket when he heard Gerald grumbling to himself.

"I heard that, Gerald," said Jase.

"What you said about me not getting hot chocolate wasn't fair," exclaimed Gerald. "After all, it is Christmas!"

"Well, I wasn't the one who stole the baking!" said Jase.

Queen Berry, Jennifer and Pansy wisely kept quiet, not saying anything that could upset Jase even further. Jennifer and Queen Berry went to leave the kitchen so they could read their story.

"Jennifer, where are you going?" asked Jase.

"I am about to read the First Christmas Story to Queen Berry," said Jennifer.

"Okay, can you go ahead and read to our guest. I can help Pansy with the Christmas turkey but I want you to wrap the Christmas presents for the children as soon as you are done reading." said Jase.

Jennifer went to the table where Queen Berry was sitting and sat right beside her.

Queen Berry handed over the story book to Jennifer.

Jennifer opened the story book and began to read the story.

"In the little town called Nazareth there lived a young virgin girl named Mary.

One day, an angel appeared to Mary and frightened her.

The angel said to Mary: "Greetings, Mary. Do not be afraid for I bring you great news of joy. On this day you were favoured by Our Father. You are going to have a son and he will be called the Son of Man."

"How can this be, for I am only a virgin?" Mary said to the angel.

"He will be a great man and bring peace to all of the people," the angel said to her. "You must name him Jesus."

Then Mary said to the angel: "I'm the handmaiden of Our Father."

Mary later rushed to see her cousin Elizabeth who was also going to have child of her own.

Elizabeth had heard that her cousin was favoured and would have a son.

Mary was very happy to see her cousin and was very joyful for Elizabeth's news too.

Joseph was engaged to Mary, but when he heard that Mary was going to have a child, he broke off the engagement. He began to have nightmares about Mary.

One night, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream.

"Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife for she has been favoured by Our Father. For she will have a son. You must name him Jesus."

Joseph did as he was instructed by the angel.

About nine months later, a Roman soldier told the people of Israel to go and register in their place of origin.

Joseph and Mary had to travel all the way to Bethlehem and it was very long journey.

When they got to Bethlehem, there was no place to stay but a kind innkeeper gave them his stable to stay in.

In the stable was where Mary gave birth to Jesus.

In the fields, shepherds were attending to their sheep. An angel appeared and they were very frightened.

The angel said to shepherds, "Do not be afraid for I have brought you great news of joy. For unto you the Son of Man has been born. You will find him in the town of Bethlehem in a stable, wrapped in cloths and laying in manger.

Then the voices of heaven shouted: "Glory, Glory on high in the highest for on Earth is peace for all good men."

Soon afterwards the angels left and the shepherds hurried to the stable.

When they got there, they found Baby Jesus in the manger.

A few days later, wise men were travelling from the East. They saw a star appear in the night sky. They decided to follow the star to Jerusalem. On the way they met King Herod.

One wise man told the king that they were following the star to unknown location where a Savior was to be born.

King Herod summoned the priests to help the wise men but in secret he actually wanted to kill Baby Jesus.

The priests had read the older version of the Bible and they had already found out that Jesus was to be born in Bethlehem.

King Herod told the wise men to travel to Bethlehem and return to him with news so he could worship the Savior as well.

The wise men continued on their journey to the town.

They reached the end of journey and found Jesus with his mother Mary. They presented him gold, mirth and frankincense.

An angel appeared to the wise men in a dream and warned them not to travel back to Jerusalem because King Herod wanted to kill the child. So the wise men travelled home by another route.

Jennifer stopped reading.

"Why did you stop?" asked Queen Berry.

Jennifer smiled and said: "The next part of the story is the Easter story."

Queen Berry looked at the book, then smiled and nodded at Jennifer.

"Thank you, Jennifer," she said.

Jennifer got up from her seat and went to start wrapping the gifts.

Pansy had also listened to the story as she worked with Jase.

Jase had noticed Pansy listening so he decided to help with true meaning of the story.

"I know that you are wondering about the real meaning of that story, Pansy. It was gift to all people around the world so we can know God's love."

Pansy understood what Jase had just said.

"Do you need any more help, Jase?" asked Pansy.

"No." said Jase. " I am all good here. You can help Jennifer and Queen Berry in wrapping the gifts."

Pansy then went to help Jennifer and Queen Berry, who were already busy wrapping the gifts. When finished, they placed the gifts under the tree.

Gerald looked at the gifts and knew that some of them were for him.

"Don't even think about it, Gerald!" warned Jennifer. "Jase told us to wait until Christmas morning."

Gerald just grumbled some more.

Jennifer went to her cabin to get changed for the Christmas Eve celebration.

She put on a white and gold dress, did her hair up in a ponytail and put on her black shoes.

Kinipela put on a green dress and black jacket. Her shoes were also black.

Jase put on a suit and like his two sisters, he had black shoes as well.

Jennifer, Jase and Kinipela were ready to attend Midnight Mass in the Main Hall.

They decided that it would be a good idea for their friends from the Flower Dimension to wait for them in Jase's bedroom, since not all earthlings would understand who they were, and might be afraid.

The three siblings arrived at the service, which was being held in the Main Hall. During the service, Jennifer sang six songs and Jase sang four songs.

Back in Jase's bedroom, their friends were listening to the music coming from the Main Hall and soon they all fell fast asleep.

Jennifer, Jase and Kinipela handed out the gifts they had wrapped to all the children at the service. The children and their parents smiled and thanked them.

Then everyone who had attended the mass went home.

Jase told his sisters to go bed. In the morning, they would open their presents and eat all the delicious treats they had made.

The next morning they arrived in the Main Hall bright and early. All their friends from other dimensions joined them.

"Merry Christmas!" shouted Gerald.

Everyone smiled and nodded.

They went to open their gifts and thanked each other. Then they ate a delicious Christmas lunch, enjoyed all the sweets and drank hot chocolate.

Soon afterwards, it was time for their friends to go back to the Flower Dimension.

Jennifer used her magic to open the portal and let them return.

"Goodbye everyone and we will see you all very soon!" said Jennifer.

Her friends nodded and waved as they journeyed back to the Flower Dimension.

It had been a perfect Christmas.

The End
