"Derek…." Meredith said after some time and attacked his lips, kissing him ferociously.
"Mer… Meredith…we…" Derek said warily not wanting to do something while she was upset.
"Are you denying your pregnant, hormonal wife sex?" Meredith asked slyly.
"You're right. What the hell am I thinking?" Derek winked at her and then turned them around so that her back was touching the table.
His mouth found hers as his hands busied themselves getting rid of her lab coat and top. Meredith moaned into the kiss and started pulling off his scrubs. He lifted her up on the table and attacked her breasts through the bra. Derek went around and opened the clasps of the bra and the other hand pulled her head down to give him better access. He kissed wherever he could reach. Her face, shoulders, collar bone, chest, all around.
Meredith couldn't stop moaning. Wanting to reciprocate, she pulled his head up and moved her lips to his neck and chest. She took a nipple in her mouth, causing Derek to moan loudly. She opened his pants and dropped them, Derek completing the task as he pushed them away from his body. His boxers followed soon. Her hands went between his legs to rub his shaft. As soon as he reacted, she pulled her hands away.
"You're teasing me."
"Maybe" She replied coyly.
He tugged on her scrub pants and she slightly lifted herself and discarded the pants and her underwear along with their other clothes. His fingers immediately went to her folds, touching and teasing them.
"You're wet."
"I am. Need…" Derek pushed two fingers inside her without warning and loved the response he got. "Need you inside…"
Her wish was his command as he quickly pulled his fingers out and thrust inside her. They both started rocking their hips at a lightning fast rate relishing the contact.
"Oh…oh… Derek!" Moaned Meredith.
"Mer… God…I'm close…" Derek shouted as they both came together.
For a long time, they just stood there in bliss. They took their time getting dressed and even then, stayed together not wanting to go outside of their bubble just yet.
Amelia had just finished surgery and was walking towards her office. She was in her world, listening to music on her iPhone when she crashed with someone. She looked up to find that person to be her sister Liz.
"Amy! How are you?" Liz asked.
"I'm great." She went on to give hugs to all the women present. "Why are you all standing outside their office?"
As she said this, noises came from the other side.
"Yes… Derek… Oh God…"
"Meredith…. Faster…"
"Right… That is not uncommon here. This is why my office is on the other side of the corridor… far away from here. You all…umm…can come with me if you want."
The sisters looked at each other and their mom and readily agreed, wanting to be anywhere but here.
"How do you sleep at home?" Kathleen asked.
"Their room is sound-proofed… thank god." Amy replied.
Just then Maggie Pierce came to her from the other side. "Hey, do you know who exactly Cristina Yang is? She was given privileges in my department without consulting me."
"Uh…yeah. She was an intern in Meredith's class. Amazing surgeon. I worked with a couple of times, hands down one of the best I've seen."
"Thanks for that…" Maggie dead panned. "So, what, she's just gonna come here as if she rules the place?" Maggie asked clearly remembering what transpired her last day at the hospital.
"She was once in the board of directors. And Maggie, she is a world class surgeon."
"How do I know that? I mean… she works in Switzerland… How do I know she can tackle a level 1 trauma center?"
"By the fact that she took a bullet out of my brother's chest while there was a gun to her head, telling her to let him die." Amelia told, causing all the members of the group to jerk their heads towards her. "Uh, yes. Then Meredith came in and told the gunman to shoot her instead. An eye for an eye she said…You guys didn't know?"
"Shit! I need to talk to Meredith and apologize." Nancy said.
"Let me guess… you went Nancy on her." Amelia sarcastically asked.
"That woman told the gunman to kill her instead of Derek. God!" Nancy grimaced her actions. "How do I apologize?"
"Try being genuine… That should help. And Maggie, Cristina won't disappoint. If she weren't going to Switzerland, honestly, you wouldn't be here." Amy told her, and opened the door to her office, guiding them in.
"I should go to daycare and get the kids." Derek whispered to Meredith.
"Yeah. I have a surgery as well in half-an-hour. See you later?" She asked pecking his lips.
"Of course. Take care." Derek kissed her forehead and then bent to give a kiss on her stomach before heading out to get his kids.
He was halfway down when Cristina started walking beside him.
"How is Meredith?" She asked.
"Fine. Has surgery in some time. Gone to check the prep of the patient."
"Derek…"
"She really is fine Cristina. I calmed her down. God…. What do I do of my sisters?" He groaned.
"I told them that if they didn't accept Mer as your wife, they aren't allowed inside my house… sorry." Cristina said not wanting the topic to drive a wedge between the two of them. She wouldn't apologize to Nancy and the gang, but she did want to tell that to Derek in case he minded.
"Please don't apologize. I was thinking of disinviting them myself. But your method seems better." He brushed her apology off.
"Of course, it does. I always have the bets ides." Cristina proudly said, causing Derek to chuckle.
"So, what's the surgery you and Mer will be performing?" He asked, wanting a change in topic.
"it's a tumor removal. Such a tumor that I've never seen in my life. Beautifully wounded itself throughout the chest and abdomen. Meredith removed a similar one, you know. 3D printing, which we will take to the next level there." Cristina proudly said.
"She told me about that tumor. She took the model home with her." Derek remembered the case Meredith told him about a week after he left for Washington D.C.
"Well someone left half her bed empty." She brought up the topic finally.
"Cristina, I'm sorry… really." He knew they were going to talk about it once, might as well be here.
"I had just left Derek. Was that the best time for you to leave her as well?" She asked, with a tinge of anger.
"I know… I just… I wasn't used to it, you know. Taking a step back in my career. I never had to do it. It was frustrating. I wasn't myself. I am sorry." Derek knew what he did wasn't justified but he just told her what went through his head that time. It wasn't an excuse, just the truth.
"Well, do something like that again and I'll…" Cristina warned.
"I won't. I happy here. Some of the proposals I read for research, really cutting edge." Derek said, sounding genuinely happy about his work.
"Tell you what, if you even come across something that's over the top amazing but you're not being able to support it due to lack of funds, take permission from the doctor it belongs to and send it to me." She told him, knowing that that situation might occur in the future.
"You got it." Derek readily agreed.
"By the way, I passed by the corridor your office is in a while back. Heard some weird noises. You wouldn't know anything about it would you?" Cristina smirked.
"Uh, no. Not from ours." Derek stammered, embarrassed.
"Right. Now, I'll go find your wife. There might be something for me to do in that surgery, or I'll just kick the assist out." Cristina said with a straight face having no qualms in doing so. Derek just chuckled and bid goodbye.
Cristina got off on the OR floor and headed to the OR board to check the room her friend was in. She headed to the scrub room and scrubbed before entering.
"Hey, what are you doing here." Meredith asked as she saw her enter.
"Bored. Thought would assist you in surgery." She turned to the intern and told him to move over. "Tell me what to do."
"Well, unfortunately for you I just need someone to suction." Meredith told her chuckling.
"Fine. I'll provide suction. Huh!" Cristina remarked annoyed. "I grilled your husband, by the way." She told her.
"About what?" Meredith asked, not exactly wanting the answer.
"D.C. of course." Cristina said in an obvious voice.
"Cris, you remember when Addison was here, they were still married." Meredith began
"Uh, yes." Cristian said, confused.
"The way Derek used to look at me..."
"Full of love and regret." Cristina completed.
"Yes. The look he gave that research assistant was nothing like that. I saw it." Meredith spoke in defence of her husband.
Above in the gallery, Amelia had sneaked in her mom, sisters and Maggie to watch Meredith operate. Maggie was confused when Cristina casually walked into the OR, but Amelia shushed her. Meredith was expertly working on the patient when all of a sudden, he started coding.
"What is happening?" Cristina exclaimed.
"He is having a repeat MI." Meredith shouted.
The both of them left what they were doing, handing the suction to the intern and jumped to work on the chest. Cristina had cracked the chest in a moments time and the both of them had successfully isolated the area of bleed, clamping it in another.
Up there, Maggie jumped to go and assist as soon as she saw what was happening, but Amelia stopped her, telling her to observe. What she saw was nothing like she had seen. Two world class doctors, completely in sync, knowing what the other was doing without having to glance or even ask.
Soon the cardio portion was sorted, enabling them to return to the abdomen. Cristina jumped in with Meredith taking half the portion left, leaving the suction to the intern. They completed the surgery in half the time and without any further complications.
"God! That was fun." Cristina exclaimed as they scrubbed out."
"Only you would classify a man having a MI as fun." Meredith chuckled.
"It's been 36 hours since I've cut." Cristina reasoned.
"Oh my!" Meredith sarcastically exclaimed.
"Leave the sarcasm to me, will ya?" Cristina joked while pushing Meredith out of the scrub room. "You had a nice sexcapade with McDreamy, huh?"
"You heard?" Meredith asked worried and embarrassed.
"Anyone who passed the corridor attached that time heard. You will never learn to keep it down will you?" Cristina laughed. She still remembered the first day when Izzie and George had to suffer through Meredith and Derek making noises the entire night.
"Nope. I love my husband and I love my sex with my husband." Meredith said as she ran into someone. She looked up to see who it was and to her utter grimace it was Kathleen.
"Why is everyone running into me today? And Mer, I could have done without ever listening to that last line." Kathleen said. Meredith was clearly embarrassed and Cristina was having a hard time controlling her laughter.
"Meredith," Nancy started, causing both Meredith and Cristina to tense. "I want to apologise. I was way out of line that time during lunch, and today morning, well always with you. And I'm sorry."
Meredith did not know how to response. she was hurt by Nancy's remarks so she didn't want to forgive her just like that, but she couldn't just dismiss that either, so she just nodded.
Carolyn went on to pull Cristina in a hug, which greatly confused the surgeon, who hugged back awkwardly. "Thank you for saving my son. Amelia just told us what happened that day." She went on to hug Meredith even tighter, telling her that she was forever grateful for her sacrifice. mereidth simply shook her head, telling her it was nothing.
"Meredith, how far along are you?" Nancy asked.
"Uh, two months." she replied.
"When was your last ultrasound?" She continued.
"It's been a month." Meredith answered. She knew that Nancy was an OBGYN so she thought that her medical opinion couldn't hurt.
"Let's do one now. Please. I want to see my niece or nephew." Cristina butted in.
"Uh, Derek is with the kids. I don't want to do one without him." Meredith honestly told them.
Cristina, not taking no for an answer looked around until she spotted Alex and his girlfriend Jo. She asked if Jo could watch over the kids for the time they did the ultrasound. She agreed and the group of ladies along with Alex headed to the OB floor. Cristina paged Derek to meet him there, once Jo reached to take care of the kids.
Alex had taken them to a room, having the permission to do so and set up the machine. Nancy, took over and sprayed the gel. All women stood around Meredith, Cristina the closest. Maggie had left the group as soon as the left the gallery, as she was paged.
Suddenly, Derek barged in, "what happened? Are you alright? Is the baby..."
"Derek relax, we just wanted to do an ultrasound and see our niece or nephew. Everything is alright." Liz calmed him down.
"I didn't want to do one without you... sorry if I scared you." Meredith said, feeling guilty. "You couldn't have told him not to worry?" She questioned Cristina annoyed.
"It slipped my mind. Sorry." Cristian apologised.
Derek went to Meredith's other side and stood opposite Cristina. He signalled to his sister to start. She applied the gel on het abdomen and started the machine. Soon there was a faint image on the screen and a light sound of the baby's heartbeat. A huge smile was on everyone's face and a few of them even teared up.
"Oh my. My eighteenth grandchild." Carolyn said, not wanting to cry.
"Pictures?" Nancy asked more cheerily than anything she said that day.
"Yeah. Take out a few sheets. A lot of people will want it." Meredith replied.
"You know what we're doing in against hospital rules." Derek reminded his wife. Unscheduled ultrasounds weren't a norm.
"Well, they can complain to the board members." Alex commented, causing them to laugh.
"Chill Shepherd. I can just say that she was cramping after the surgery and we wanted to check and make sure everything was normal." Cristina said, providing a believable excuse for them.
"Now, everything looks goods. Baby's progress is what it should be. Meredith, are your records here?" Nancy asked, in her doctor mode.
"Uh, yes." She took the tablet from her and logged in to access her records. "Here."
"Okay... this looks good. Your pre-natal vitamins are appropriate. Why did you have a C-section last time?" she asked noticing the scar.
"There was something wrong with the baby's position." Derek told her.
"The baby's face was coming out first instead of the head." Cristina explained further.
"Aah... That is something that unfortunately can't be prevented. It all depends on the baby's orientation that time." she explained. "Meredith, you can... you should call me if you ever feel any discomfort, any pain or cramping. I can carry my portable ultrasound to Switzerland as well, if you want." she offered, as an olive branch towards her sister-in-law.
"Uh, that's not needed. I'm head of the Klaufmann Institute there. She will have every medical supply needed, if required." Cristina explained.
"Let's hope that nothing goes wrong, shall we? No need for ultra sound machines or any other medical supplies." Meredith demanded. Derek gently rubbed her hand in support.
"We can just do your third month ultrasound there." Cristina offered.
"Fine" Meredith agreed, secretly happy to see everyone's excitement for this kid.
"Let's all head for dinner. Cristina, Alex, join us." Derek asked. He still didn't know the reason for the change in behaviour of his sisters towards his wife and so he wanted Meredith to be comfortable.
"Sure. I'm staying with you as it is. Meredith, tomorrow we start on our project too." Cristina readily agreed not wanting to go to an empty house.
"You got it. Alex, you joining?" She asked her other best friend.
"Uh, sure. I'll just tell Jo." It had been sometime since he spent time wit Yang and wanted to do so. He had also heard about what transpired during lunch with Meredith so he wanted to be there for her too, just in case.
"You can stay over. In the third guest room." Derek offered.
"Hey! Mine isn't a guest room. And I'm bunking with you and Mer tonight. We have a lot to catch up on. he can take my room." Cristina told with authority. derek just laughed and agreed.
"You sleep on the same bed as Derek and Meredith?" Carolyn asked amused.
"Uh, yes. Sometimes." Cristina said, not understanding the confusion.
Derek just laughed and put an arm around her shoulder. "She is different, Ma. What she and Mer share, no one understands." He laughed. They all headed out of the room into the lobby where Jo had brought the kids. "So, Ma, you should stay with us. The girls can stay in a hotel but you should stay with us."
"He is right Carolyn. The kids would love it." Meredith reiterated her husband's words.
"Alright then." she agreed.
