Magic Of Luck Chapter 3: "You're Welcome"

Magica De Spell was sitting on a small stool in the corner of her cabin, resting her elbow on an open spell book. The jewel Poe had given her rested a few inches away, the sunlight shining on its glassy surface.
She tapped a finger on her chin, thinking about the day before. Sure, Poe's knowledge would be useful, but how was she supposed to get closer to a McDuck?! Scrooge would probably kick him out the minute she even got near the mansion, not that she would want to go there anyways. (at least, not without regaining her powers…) Still, even managing to talk with Gladstone would be tricky. Besides McDuck manor, there really wasn't any other place Magica knew that she could find him. What about his blimp? No, to be honest that would be kinda freaky showing up there without a good reason…especially if she was, indeed, Scrooge's greatest enemy.
Getting up and deciding to find Poe to ask for his advice, she got up and opened the door, following the path to the ancient tree she had visited earlier. Three crows perched on the branch this time, dumbly pecking at a small indent in the wood. She rolled her eyes and called, "Poe?"
No answer.
Magica frowned, "POE?!"
Still no answer.
"So much for that idea." Magica remarked, putting her right hand on her hip. She stared down the three remaining crows, narrowing her eyes at them, "What are you looking at?! Stop looking at me like that!"
They flew away, cawing. Magica scoffed, blowing a soot-black strand of hair out of her face. How pathetic. Though to be honest, they kinda reminded the sorceress of herself: how she fled the Money Bin after her defeat, swearing vengeance on Scrooge and promising that she would destroy him.
But, could she really?
First, there was the dime. She tried to destroy Scrooge, and suffered the consequences. She was turned into a shadow, the creatures that she found most interesting. She had studied shadows before, hence her powers, but never imagined becoming one. People thought of Scrooge McDuck as good, brave, and kind, but trapping Magica in that dime was never one of those things. He never knew the torture of being trapped inside your own shadow. Sometimes, you've got to look at things from both sides.
Then there was Lena. Magica really thought she could have gotten away with it this time. This was supposed to be her victory. Lena was supposed to vicious, cruel, heartless…in theory. How was she supposed to know Pinky McHappyBow over here would cause Lena to betray her? Lena turned away without looking back at her.
Glomgold. Okay, if we're being completely honest here, Magica was pretty certain this would be a hit or miss situation. Glomgold was a moron, but it wasn't uncommon that one of his ideas actually (somewhat) worked. She trusted him. He failed. Magica made herself promise that she would never trust anyone again.
Suddenly, a rustling sound snapped her out of her thoughts. Magica spun around, watching the leaves of the bush move. She slowly creeped up to the bush, and jumped on top of whatever was hiding behind it. The figure under her yelped in surprise. She wrestled with the figure, slamming him down on the ground. She loosened her grip when she realized who it was.
"What are you doing in MY woods?!"
"Geez lady, the woods are for everyone!"
Magica stood up and pointed a finger at him, "You know my name!"
Gladstone mumbled, "Magica De Spell."
Magica smirked, "Right." She watched smugly as Gladstone dusted himself off, pulling a stick out from his hair.
"You know, next time I'd appreciate it if you didn't ATTACK me…"
Magica's smirk got wider and she said cheekily, "Good thing that poison ivy broke your fall."
"I- WHAT?!" Gladstone shrieked in surprise.
"I was kidding." Magica shook her head at his foolish reaction, "Your luck would have saved you anyway."
Gladstone shrugged, "Soooo…what were you doing?"
'Oh I was just on my way to find a certain crow so that I could use your luck and kill your uncle, HAHAHA.' Magica thought. Of course, if she said that, Gladstone would probably think she was nuts, so instead she replied:
"I was checking for intruders. What were you doing here?"
Gladstone reddened, "IcametoseeyoubecauseIthinkyou'recoolandstuff."
"Of course I'm cool. I'm a sorceress." Magica snapped, flipping her hair. Gladstone blinked.
"So…um…."
Magica seethed and face-palmed. Couldn't Gladstone just HURRY UP? Boy, Poe was a freaking moron if he thought that she would actually bond with this guy. How many days were there until the stupid lunar eclipse again? How many more days until she could finally take down Scrooge?!
Gladstone took a step back and Magica forced herself to calm down.
"Okay, what about I ask this: Why did you come here to see me?" She tapped her foot impatiently on the ground.
"I just…I just…I don't know, I just wanted to see you again." Gladstone turned his back and kicked a rock, "Thanks for teaching us how to defeat the Phantom Blot."
Magica's gaze softened, "You're welcome." The rock Gladstone kicked was swallowed by a strange half-fish-half-shark-half-piranha-half-bear creature, which jumped out of the "creek" (if it could be called a creek, since the water was so dirty…it was a muddy brown color.) next to them.
"…"
"…"
"Yes, this isn't the best part of the forest, I'm aware." She paused, "But if you want, I guess we could go on a walk together." Gladstone smiled sheepishly and agreed.
Little did they know SOMEONE was watching them.
Lena gasped.
OOOOOOOOO CLIFFHANGER! Lena won't be too happy in the next chapter. 9-9
