Chapter 17: Escape and Original Best Friend

Bella, the twins and their wolf companion Kauldar walk into the lab of Helen Cho. An ally to the Avengers. After Bella and Pietro talked, Ultron decided to put in the next step of his plan. He needed Helen Cho's help to accomplish a new full body by using the vibranium they acquired from Klaus. As they walk by the terrified co-workers of Cho's, Bella felt a twinge of guilt. She would have let go of Cho's workers and not put them in harm's way. However, this is not her plan. This is about Ultron. She felt Pietro's hand squeeze hers. Bella looked up at her beloved and gave him a tight lip smile. They entered the lab only to see a possessed Helen Cho hooking Ultron up to the cradle where the new body lays. She glanced up at Pietro in which he catches her eyes.

"Something isn't right." Bella said to him through the bond. They both glanced over at Dr. Cho and saw her eyes. They were a bright shade of blue. Pietro looked back at Bella.

"Ultron has her under his control." Pietro spoke through the bond and they both looked back at Dr. Cho as she put a plug into Ultron's head. She started to explain the process, but Bella knew exactly want Ultron is doing. He's creating a new body. A body were the Avengers have a disadvantage. Bella and Pietro knew this would happen. Ultron wants to destroy the entire world. When everyone else is dead. This is madness and they knew it. They never should have trusted Ultron. Yes, they might want revenge, but deep down they knew Tony Stark had nothing to do with the bombs that destroyed half of Sokovia. The way he stared down at those bombs back on Klaus ship, Bella knew something was off.

"This wasn't part of the plan." Bella said. Her eyes then landed on Wanda who touched the cradle and let out a scream. Bella and Pietro immediately went to Wanda and caught her before she could fall. Wanda snuggled into Pietro's chest and Kauldar let out a series of growls at the cradle and Ultron. Bella gently pushed back Pietro and Wanda. She stood in front of them both and her hands glowed violet.

"I knew you were lying from the beginning." Bella sneered at Ultron. She threw out her hands and glowing violet tentacles attacked the Ultron bots. In which freed Dr. Cho's co-workers. Ultron glared his glowing red eyes at her and tried to attack her, but Wanda threw her hand out and created a shield in front of Bella. Pietro sped over to Dr. Cho and knocked her out. He caught her and sped her out of the room to get her away from danger. Bella let out a scream and shockwave hit Ultron sending him flying and hitting the wall. Bella and Wanda rushed out of Dr. Cho's lab. Pietro sped up to his love and twin sister.

"We need to go." He said and they both nodded.

"I know where to go." Bella said. Knowing she would be detected by some people from her past, but she would figure it out later.

Angela Weber fished out the keys to the Swan household out of her purse. Every time she comes to this house, she could feel the tears well up in her eyes. It's been six years since she last saw Bella and her father. It was a time when Bella was going through a rough time when Edward broke up with her. Bella wanted to get away for a while. Her father Charlie had so many vacation days, they decided to travel for a year. Angela was proud of her best friend. She would be traveling around the world in time of healing. Her father Charlie asked Angela to housesit until they decide to come back.

Angela unlocked the front door and it creaked opened. She let out a soft sigh and walked in. The fourth term as an NYU student would come out to the Swan household make sure everything is still in place and give it a good clean. She would even come over to relax or study. This house became like a second home to her. Her old friends wouldn't understand why Angela would keep wasting her time with the Swan household. Because she wanted to keep her memories of her best friend. She wants to remember Bella she once did. How they used to talk about their likes and dislikes about life in general. She remembers Bella always making time for her even when she was dating Edward Cullen.

Angela was there for her best friend when she heard about the prized Cullen boy dumping her in the middle of the woods. She remembered Bella trying to push her away, but Angela wouldn't have it. All her friends gave up on Bella, but she didn't. Angela stood next to Bella. Her best friend gave her hope back. She even suggested Bella and her father to take a trip somewhere to get away from everything here in Forks. If she hadn't suggested them to take a trip, then maybe they would still be alive. Her best friend would still be alive.

Tears welled up in her eyes but blinked them away and shook her head. Angela closed the door behind her and locked it. Her feet did most of her walking like she was on auto pilot. She gently put her purse and book bag as her phone started to ring. A soft sigh left her lips and searched through her purse for her phone. She grabs it and saw the caller ID. It was her professor. Her brown doe eyes lit up with excitement. She quickly answered it.

"Hey." Angela greeted.

"Did you make it back okay?" She heard a British accent. Angela nodded if he could see her. A small smile graced her lips.

"I did. I'm safe and sound." The NYU student replied and glanced around the Swan household. It still has that warm feeling it once had.

"I assume you are at your best friend's house?" He asked.

"You are correct." She said. "I made a promise. Even if they are dead, she was still my best friend." Angela answered with sadness in her voice. Every time she thinks about her best friend and her father, it brings her to tears. A wave of sadness washes over her, but she pushed that wave away.

"I believe Isabella would be happy that you kept her home safe." Her professor said. Angela sniffled a little as the corner of her lips twitched upwards slightly. She walked into the kitchen and went to one of the cupboards above the countertop next to the fridge.

"I know, it's just that, we've always talked about going to college together. We looked at colleges together and now, I'm here and she's not. It pains me that she's not here with me and I don't know, I just wished I hadn't mentioned for them to get out of town for a while. Maybe they would still be alive." Her tears stream down her face as she thought more Bella and her father Charlie.

"Isabella would want you to be happy, Angela. She would want you to continue your work. I believe she would be proud of all you have achieved." Her British accent professor said. Angela let out a soft chuckle with a teary smile and wiped her tears away with the sleeve of her long sleeve shirt. "Will you be alright being there by yourself, Angela?" He asked her. A sigh escaped her lips. She closed her eyes and shook her head.

"No, you still need to find your brother and the rest of your family." She said. "They need your more then I do." Angela said with honesty. Even though, she desperately wants to him to be here with her, but he has duty. A duty to find his brother and stop him from releasing the curse that was put upon him thousands of years ago. Angela has helped her professor trying to find his brother, but all the research she has done has come up empty. However, she didn't give up. Angela knows she will be able to find him, but she started to feel the stress build up on her shoulders. Exams were coming up, she barely slept, only relying on coffee and barely ate. She started to doubt her ability. Her professor noticed her strange behavior. Angela remembers like it was yesterday.

"My brother can be handled another day. I worry about your health. I wouldn't mind staying with you for a couple of days." Angela smiles at his concern for her. Even though, she should worry about him, but it gives her comfort. She feels the butterflies flutter in her stomach. Her professor is a very handsome man. She still couldn't believe he's an Original. Angela has heard the stories about the Original family. She thought it was a myth or just a bedtime story. Obvious, that wasn't the case.

"I can't ask you to come here and stay with me." She answered. "You have enough on her plate. Plus, you were right. I needed a break. So, I'm going to stay here. You're going to keep looking for your brother and find a way to stop him." Angela told him. She knows him all too well. Knowing him, he probably is already standing on the doorstep waiting for her to invite him in. Angela eyebrows knitted together in confusion and glanced towards the front door. "Wait, you're not here, are you?" She asked him. There was silence on the other end of the phone. Angela pulled her phone away from her ear and glared at the call screen on her phone. "Elijah, where are you?" She sternly asked him. Then she let her feet walk out of the kitchen to the front door, unlocked it and jerked the door open. Her brown doe eyes widened as her hand went slack and her phone dropped to the floor. There standing is her British accent professor wearing his black three-piece Armani suit, a dark gray dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants and black dress shoes. His hair styled neat and clean and his signature smirked grace his lips. Angela continued to stare at her professor in a frozen stature and her mouth gaped open as he smirked at her with his own amusement.

"This is where you invite me in, Angela." He said which seemed to snap Angela out of her frozen state. She blinked her brown doe eyes and lunged herself out him. He already had his arms ready to catch her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in the croak of his neck. Elijah wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to his body. He buried his own face in her in her silk brunette hair that smells of cherry blossom and a hint of vanilla from her perfume. Angela closed her brown doe eyes and inhaled his Armani cologne that made the butterflies in her stomach flutter even faster.

"You're here." She whispered to him. He tightened his arms around her and closed his eyes.

"I'll always be here for you." Elijah responded. Angela felt the wave of sadness disappear and replaced with happiness.
