A shot of the bustling metropolis of Mushroom City at night was shown as it zoomed in on the set of Ludwig von Koopa's talk show roof terrace. "It's Saturday Night Ludwig, with your host Ludwig von Koopa!" The announcer announced as the camera zoomed in on Ludwig, who was once again sitting in his brown leather chair and wore a green tie this time around.
"Welcome back, everyone! I'm glad you could all make it for the second episode of Saturday Night Ludwig!" Ludwig enthausiastically told his audience as they cheered.
"You're welcome, Ludwig!" The audience replied with a beaming smile.
"Great! We've got another great program lined up for tonight! We've got famous chef Dyllis from the alternate dimension town of Flopside to promote her new cooking book that she has written, we're gonna be having a chat with the famous Waluigi about the opening of his new Bridal Boutique in the Coconut Mall on Isle Delfino, and we will be getting an acoustic performance from the famous K.K. Slider! I hope you're gonna like tonight's show just as much as I am!" Ludwig told the audience.
"Alright, Ludwig! It's time to announce your first guest!" Lemmy told Ludwig as he was again sitting on his yellow circus ball with stars on it.
"Alright! It's time to introduce the first guest of the night! She's famous for her delicious cooking back in her home town of Flopside, which is located in an alternate dimension that I do not know the name of! She's come to our dimension to promote her new cooking book that she has written! Give it up for Dyllis!" Ludwig announced as Dyllis entered the scene from the left side of the stage. She was dressed in a red argyle sweater with black dress pants and red pumps, and carried a cooking book in her right arm, and she proceeded to sit down in the brown leather chair in front of Ludwig.
"Dyllis, welcome to my show!" Ludwig told Dyllis with a smile.
"I vas happy to come here." Dyllis told Ludwig with a frown on her face, her distinctive German accent sounding as she spoke.
"So, you came to our dimension to promote your new cooking book that you have written. What can you tell us about your cooking book?" Ludwig asked Dyllis curiously.
"Vell, zis new cooking book is filled vith recipes based on French dishes. Zey can take a bit to prepare, but I can assure you: It is vorth ze time und effort." Dyllis told Ludwig as she held up the cooking book she was carrying in her right arm.
Ludwig looked at the cover of the book. "The French Chef, huh? That sounds fun! Can you show us one of the recipes in the book?" He asked Dyllis.
Dyllis nodded. "Of course I can." She replied as she opened the book and went to a random page. "Zis is a recipe for beef bourguignon. I vill read ze recipe to you." She told Ludwig.
"Alright, go ahead!" Ludwig smiled.
"For zis recipe, you vill need 3 cups of Burgundy wine, 2 tablespoons of brandy, 2 thinly sliced onions, 2 chopped carrots, 1 sprig fresh parsley, 1 bay leaf, 1 crushed clove of garlic, 10 whole black peppercorns, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 pounds of cubed beef chuck roast, 4 divided tablespoons of olive oil, ΒΌ pound of cubed bacon, 2 chopped onions, 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, 1 can of beef broth, 10.5 ounce, salt und pepper for ze taste, 4 tablespoons of butter und 1 pound of sliced fresh mushrooms." Dyllis read out loud to Ludwig.
"Damn, that's a lot of ingredients! And how do you make this dish?" Ludwig asked Dyllis curiously.
"I vill tell you. Step 1: For ze marinade, combine ze wine, cognac, onions, carrots, parsley, bay leaf, garlic, peppercorns und salt. Mix it vell, und add ze cubed beef. Cover ze mix und let it marinate in ze refrigerator for 2 days." Dyllis told Ludwig.
"And then?" Ludwig asked curiously.
"Step 2: Preheat ze oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, or 150 degrees Celsius." Dyllis replied.
"And then?" Ludwig asked again.
"Step 3: For ze Bourguignon, strain ze meat from ze vegetables und marinade; reserve ze marinade. Dry ze meat vith paper towels, heat 2 tablespoons of ze oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add ze meat und saute it for 10 minutes, or until it's browned on all sides. Transfer ze meat to a separate medium bowl vith a slotted spoon und set it aside." Dyllis explained.
"And then?" Ludwig asked again.
"Step 4: In ze same skillet, add ze bacon und saute until it's lightly browned. Transfer ze bacon to ze bowl vith ze meat. Drain ze skillet und return it to ze heat. Pour a cup of marinade into ze skillet to deglaze it, scraping ze bottom to loosen up all ze little bits. Return zis liquid to ze reserved marinade." Dyllis explained.
"And then?" Ludwig asked once again.
"Step 5: Heat ze remaining oil in ze skillet, zen add ze onion und carrot from ze marinade, along vith ze additional onion zat you've chopped und saute for 5 minutes, or until it's tender. Transfer zis mixture to ze bowl vith ze meat und bacon, again using a slotted spoon, und return ze skillet to ze heat. Add ze flour to ze skillet, combining vith ze oil und stir until it's vell mixed und brown, for about 2 minutes." Dyllis explained.
"And then?" Ludwig asked once again.
"Step 6: Now add ze tomato paste, garlic, beef broth, reserved marinade und salt und pepper to taste. Bring it to a boil und whisk to remove any flour lumps. Add zis to ze meat und vegetable mixture. Place ze entire mixture into a 9x13 baking dish." Dyllis explained.
"And then?" Ludwig asked once again.
"Step 7: Bake ze mixture at 300 degrees Fahrenheit or 150 degrees Celsius for 3 hours, stirring occasionally und adding water as needed. Season it vith salt und pepper to taste." Dyllis explained.
"And then?" Ludwig asked once more.
"Step 8: About 15 minutes before ze meat is done baking, melt ze butter in ze skillet over medium high heat. Add ze mushrooms und saute it for 5 to 10 minutes, or until it's lightly browned. Ven ze meat is done, add ze mushrooms to ze meat mixture, stir it vell und let it sit for about 15 minutes. Und zat is how you make my beef bourguignon. Bon appetit." Dyllis finished.
"Well, thanks for telling us all of this, Dyllis! We'll be sure to try out this recipe and many others once your cooking book hits the stores!" Ludwig told Dyllis with a beaming smile.
"I'm glad to hear zat." Dyllis nodded.
"Well, I think that's all the time we have for now! Thanks again for coming, Dyllis, and we're looking forward to the release of your cooking book!" Ludwig then told Dyllis.
"It vas a pleasure to be here. Guten nacht." Dyllis said before closing her cooking book again, getting up from her chair and leaving the scene the way she came.
"What a woman. I wish I was such a good chef. Perhaps I will become such a good chef with the help of her new cooking book." Ludwig chuckled before clearing his throat and turning back to the camera. "Time to move on to our next guest! He's a famous businessman who first made his name alongside his brother Wario as the founders of WarioWare Incorporated, but he has since gone on to build up his own business network. And now he's going to be opening his own Bridal Boutique in the Coconut Mall over at Isle Delfino! Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for the one, the only Waluigi!" Ludwig announced.
Waluigi then proceeded to enter the scene from the left side of the stage and sat down in the brown leather chair in front of Ludwig. He was dressed in an ash colored 3-piece suit with an ash colored tie and brown alligator shoes.
"Waluigi, welcome to the show!" Ludwig told Waluigi with a beaming smile.
"Thank you, Ludwig! I'm glad to be here!" Waluigi returned the beaming smile.
"So, what can you tell us about the opening of your new Bridal Boutique in the Coconut Mall over at Isle Delfino?" Ludwig asked Waluigi curiously.
"Well, I've opened plenty of businesses all over the Mushroom World, and now I wanted to open a Bridal Boutique on Isle Delfino as part of beginning the first Isle Delfino branch of WaluigiWare Incorporated." Waluigi explained to Ludwig.
"Ah, so you're opening this Bridal Boutique in the Coconut Mall to expand your business into Isle Delfino." Ludwig concluded.
"Pretty much." Waluigi nodded.
"And why did you decide to open a Bridal Boutique out of all possible businesses you could've opened over in the Coconut Mall?" Ludwig then asked Waluigi.
"Because I find it important to help young or maybe even older couples to get married. If there's anything we can learn from the love between Mario and Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom, it's that love is all you need. And what better way to say that then to get married? That's where me and my Bridal Boutique come in. We're gonna be selling the best high quality wedding tuxedos and wedding dresses, and even dressed and tuxedos for your bridesmaids, maids of honor, best men, et cetera." Waluigi explained to Ludwig.
Ludwig nodded at that. "That sounds really good, Waluigi. At what prices can we expect your high quality Bridal Boutique wares to be sold?" He asked Waluigi curiously.
"Well, the cheapest wares are sold at about 150 Coins each, while the most expensive wares are are sold at about 900 Coins each. It is high quality, after all." Waluigi replied.
Ludwig nodded at that again. "Well, we're looking forward to shopping at your Bridal Boutique once it opens its doors at the Coconut Mall on Isle Delfino, Waluigi! Thanks for coming onto my show to promote the store!" He told Waluigi with a beaming smile.
Waluigi grinned at that. "Anytime, Ludwig. Thanks for having me on your show. I must take my leave now. Buh-bye!" He waved at the eldest Koopaling and left the stage the way he came.
"What a beautiful businessman. I'm honestly jealous of his hair. I wish my hair was as refined as his." Ludwig said before clearing his throat once more and turning back to the camera. "Anyway, it's time for our musical performance of the night! He's a famous musician known for performing at various hot spots, such as The Roost, Club LOL and even various islands! Some people even say that he is the mysterious DJ K.K., but he has denied this multiple times! Give him a warm applause: K.K. Slider!" Ludwig announced as K.K. Slider walked onto the stage with a guitar in his hand and sat down on a stool.
"Cool. It's always nice to be able to sing for new cats at a new scene." K.K. told Ludwig.
"Yeah, I'm sure it is, K.K.! How about we get started?" Ludwig asked with a smile.
"Sure. I'm takin' requests, if you got an itch for an old favorite. You can belt out the name of the song you want to hear, or just tell me how you're feelin'. It's all cool with me." K.K. told Ludwig and the audience.
"Well, audience, which song do you want K.K. to play?" Ludwig asked the audience.
"Only Me!" The audience replied in unison.
"Cool, I can dig that. My axe is hot to play, so cop a seat, Pete." K.K. replied as he prepared to sing Only Me to the audience.
Oh, only me...
Sitting alone...
Waiting for you...
To make it home...
And it's k-killing me...
How, to me, it feels...
It's oh, oh, only me...
Only me who cares at all...
Sometimes it hurts...
That you're not here...
Kick up the dirt...
Count up the years...
And it's frustrating me...
How, to me, it feels...
It's oh, oh, only me...
Only me who's shedding tears...
And in my dreams...
You're holding me in your arms...
I open my eyes...
I come to realize the truth...
Oh, only me...
Sitting alone...
Maybe you will come home...
But I won't wait and see...
If, forever, it will be...
Oh, only me...
Only me falling in love...
K.K. Slider strummed his guitar before finishing as Ludwig and the audience applauded for the song. "Awwww, K.K.! That was such a great performance!" Ludwig told the white dog with a grin.
"Cool, man. Cool. Here, have a boot of the song." He told Ludwig as he handed a bootleg of the song for him to play on a stereo or another music player.
"Thanks, K.K.!" Ludwig grinned even more before turning his attention back to the audience. "And with that, we've gotten to the end of the second episode of Saturday Night Ludwig! I hope you will turn in next Saturday, where we will have new guests and a new musical performance! 'Til next time!" Ludwig parted with a wave as the episode ended.
"This was Saturday Night Ludwig, with your host, Ludwig von Koopa." The announcer signed off.
