A Profound Inability to just Give Up and Die
LOTR/StarWars
Prologue
A long time ago in a galaxy far away
I was a leader
A ruler
A saviour
I was the tip of the spear of the profound desire for change
Millions followed me as we tried to bring about a better tomorrow
And we got very, very close indeed
Until...
I was betrayed
They took everything from me
Left me for dead
And left our desire as naught but lost whispers in the void

No matter what anyone might like to tell themselves, everything will inevitable end at some point. Maybe not today, tomorrow or at any point in your miserable little life, but it will happen. No matter what.
Currently, this end is surprisingly near at hand. All that is left of the previous reality is one small little flicker of something. In what was a mostly forgotten corner (if realities have corners) there lingered a single star, kept alive by sheer stubborn will. As all other things ended around it, this star continued to exist, until it was the last thing left.
Though all things must end, the very last thing must also be the catalyst to create the next. Thus, when all else had ended, this last little star gave birth to the creator of the new reality. This creator shaped the new reality, though similarities might exist between the old and new, all things are undoubtedly new. Except, the creator noticed that the catalyst that had led to its existence had carried something else. Something had tied itself so deeply to the star that both had ceased to be able to end. The creator untied these bonds as the star formed part of his being, which is when they discovered that this mysterious something was a someone. The creator pierced the very essence of this someone and found that they were good. Thus the creator decided to place this someone in the new reality, though they did ensure that they could now die.
And so the last surviving someone from the previous reality was moulded to fit the rules of the new one and left to restore its strength after uncountable ages of static existence. It would not be until the third age of the world in which this someone now found themselves until they would awaken.
In the deep dark of moria...
