It had always freaked her out how vampires could just be perfectly still. She had only witnessed Charlie doing it. Sam had informed her that it only happened when they got lost in their own thoughts or bored, and it made sense that Charlie did it frequently. She was always bored, but seeing Quinn do it worried her. Sure, it had been three days since Charlie had been around but as far as she could tell, they were invincible monsters.

Walking past Quinn while she was just standing there completely still, was incredibly disconcerting. She doubted that Quinn had even realized that she was there. With a sigh, she waves a hand in front of Quinn's face. "Earth to Quinn," she says watching as Quinn blinks twice and turns to look at her. She can't help but shrug. "I know you're worried about Charlie and Sam, but they'll be fine, right? Charlie's practically indestructible, right?"

"I assume that we can be killed, all because we haven't found what can do it shouldn't mean that it isn't out there," Quinn pointed out as she moved to allow Santana access to the cupboard that she had been blocking. "Also, I'm not worried about my sister or Sam. With the Red Court finally leaving I'm free to go back to gardening. With Charlie's newest squire, I need to make sure that my garden is untouched."

"You don't need to lie to me, I saw you staring off towards the city, and even though you're pretty indestructible—she's still your sister. It's okay to worry," Santana said watching as Quinn's face twisted into a frown. "I'm not going to tell anyone that you care."

"I don't care who you tell, it's not exactly a secret that Charlie and I share a bed. I'm not ashamed of what I do with her, because even though there are vampires now, until we find something that can end our existence at the very end of it all, it will only be the two of us. If I seek comfort, if I seek companionship, then why not the person I came into the world with?" Quinn asks.

Santana frowned slightly, "I can understand how you can think that I'm judging you Quinn, but I'm not. I mean yeah, I was surprised at first. But I'm learning, I'm learning about all of this. I don't care if you want to sleep with Charlie, I don't care if you want to sleep with Sam either. It's none of my business. It's just, well Charlie's the nice one, and the one that I can easily bribe with sugary snacks. So, I'm worried about her as well."

Quinn narrowed her eyes at Santana, "Of course it was you who was getting her to eat more sugar, I don't know why I'm even surprised."

"In my defense it's not really me, your sister may have a sugar problem," Santana grins. "If that means that I can distract her with a sugary snack and read instead of dragged outside in the rain to be her squire and keep her entertained then I'm going to use it."

Quinn rolled her eyes, "Well, you're no longer her squire. She managed to pick a proper squire when you went off to hide in your room. He's not very bright, he's young which mean he's not that durable, not that strong. But my sister likes him which is a note that I can't kill him. As a note, I would stay away. He's a young vampire, he may seem much more human to you but take my word for it, he's more dangerous than an older vampire. At the very least take Blaine with you when you're dealing with him. I shouldn't need to tell you that when you're bleeding you should definitely not approach him."

Santana flushed, she stayed in her room as much as she could during that time of the month, and most of the time the other vampires gave her a wide berth. "I know basic safety, Blaine drilled it into my head."

"Yes, no one would dare touch you in this house as long as we're here. Josh and his ilk are mostly bark with very little bite. They fear us, but in this case a young vampire doesn't have the control that we require."

Santana swallows, there was a sinking feeling when Quinn said new vampire. Had they found an unwilling and unsuspecting human and turned them? Quinn had stated emphatically that there were rules for this sort of thing, but that didn't mean that someone else hadn't turned a human. "When you say a new vampire—"

"He's barely over a decade, he has some control but as you get older it does get easier. You've seen my sister, she survives on very little blood. She doesn't get the hunger very often, but once she is injured—well she slips back to her baser desires. Though if she's back hunting, I'm going to need to monitor her blood intake. A glass should be enough."

Santana nodded, "And what about Artie?"

"What about him?"

"He gave you the information you were looking for and if it was nothing Charlie would have been back by, now right? Does that mean you're going to free him and put him under house arrest? Will—" Santana backed up when Quinn suddenly entered her personal space.

"Are you willing to take full responsibility for him?" Quinn said as she placed both hands on the counter keeping Santana pinned down. She flashes her a small smile, her fangs popping out. "Help him with his rehabilitation? Because unless you agree to those terms, he's not going anywhere."

Santana met Quinn's gaze keeping her face as neutral. "If that's what it takes."

Quinn studied her for a moment before pulling away, "Very well, but keep in mind Santana if anyone dies because of him, it's on you."

Nodding, Santana waits until Quinn is a fair distance before she begins to breathe again. Quinn still scared the living crap out of her and she wasn't afraid to admit it. She had seen the vampire take a gun to her head and blow her brains out.

"You need to learn to stop getting aroused around me," Quinn says interrupting Santana's thoughts. "The smell is intoxicating and if I were a lesser vampire I would have acted on it. If you wish to sleep with me, then you only have to ask."

Santana scoffed and backed away from Quinn knowing the action was futile. "I have no idea what you're talking about." It's a lie, and judging from how Quinn cocks her head and stares at her she's aware that Quinn knows she's lying as well. "You're married, and your sister kills people constantly in front of me, I'm not stupid."

"Then we won't tell, I can keep a secret and I doubt Charlie will actually care," Quinn says moving towards Santana.

Santana does the only thing she knows how to do and immediately turns around and runs towards her room, flushing when she can hear Quinn laughing at her reaction. Quinn was definitely the evil and unbalanced twin. And this new vampire wasn't the only vampire she needed to watch out for.

~O~

"She's gone. She's been gone for weeks maybe months," Sam explained for Charlie who was currently picking at the dessert that Blaine had brought out for her. "We tracked her out of the city but the scent faded and we were forced to return," Sam explains. "She probably escaped during the time of the ghouls."

"So that means we're safe, right?"

Santana turned to the man who had spoken and frowned at the sight of Burt Hummel, he was the one that wanted to chip away at human rights. She had a strong dislike for him, which was why when Quinn sighed she knew that Quinn wasn't in the mood for his shit.

"This woman attacked our city, we don't know why, we don't know how many people were affected. She turned many into ghouls, but I'm more concerned about the thralls."

"There hasn't been an uptick in violence as of late," Sam pointed out. "We haven't seen any ghouls either, and thralls apart from the drunken human every now and again we don't actually have a problem. It seems that for now at least the danger has passed."

"Charlie?" Quinn prompted. "In your professional opinion do you think that the danger has passed?"

Charlie turns to look at her twin and shrugs. She makes a few quick gestures with her hand and then tapped her temple.

Quinn said standing up. "I agree, there is something that we're not seeing. These terrorist attacks have been happening throughout the territories, not just ours. This could simply be them testing our defenses, we aren't safe. We won't be safe until we have that red-headed bitch in our custody."

Santana felt herself nodding with the rest of the room, when no one says anything helpful she clears her throat and stands up, there may not be any humans in the room but she was going to make everyone take note. "She's a vampire, I know you stated that the older you got the less blood you need, but is that true for members of the black court? Has there been a string of unexplained deaths? Or maybe someone has been taking from the blood stores. I just think—"

"A human thinking," Josh scoffs.

"Unless you have something useful to say Josh, I suggest that you shut your mouth," Quinn hisses before turning back to Santana and nodding for her to continue.

"I just think that you need to look at the bigger picture, is all. She was here, we don't know for how long, it was long enough to turn Will into a thrall. We still don't know how they met, did she just grab him off the street or was it something else? She was here long enough to turn several humans into ghouls. How was she able to stay here for that long? Without anyone noticing. I mean, there were people disappearing humans disappearing a while ago. I don't know anyone who was taken I just know that there were humans taken. I thought it was you—or Hunter, but what if wasn't?" Santana pressed.

"Nonsense, if there were humans disappearing we would have noticed," Burt says dismissively. "The police would have noticed."

"Humans don't go to the cops, why should we? You beat us down just as much as Hunter and his people did," Santana says in an accusatory tone.

Burt snaps and turns to Quinn, "Are you going to let your pet, talk to me like that?"

"Well, I think you'd rather Santana talk to you like that then my sister taking your head," Quinn retorts pointing at Charlie who now had all her attention focused on Burt.

Burt swallows and immediately takes a step back. "My liege—"

"I don't give a shit Burt. I want to know Sam why is this the first time such a thing has been reported to me?" Quinn demands turning on Sam.

"As she said, the humans don't trust us. There has been an erosion of trust between the community and the force," Sam answered truthfully. "They probably think that we were the ones behind it."

Santana watches as Quinn turns to Charlie who makes a few gestures and then points at her. "I just—"

"I agree, she will go with Sam to interview these families. Another human not in uniform will probably make them more willing to talk. If they don't I'll have to go down there and ask them myself, and no one wants that."

Santana winced, no having Quinn do it would just frighten them after their families had already been shattered. It was a responsibility that she was going to take seriously.
