Peter stared at the flyers that seemed to be peppering the walls of his school. They felt like a big slap to the face for him, seeing as he was having a bit of a hard time finding a good way to ask MJ to the school dance they were announcing. The more he looked at them and saw the date of the dance getting closer and closer, the more it felt like he was never going to be able to ask MJ.

He was about to head to a debate club meeting when he saw that he had an awaiting text from Happy. The read simply told him that Mr. Stark, Tony Stark, Iron Man wanted to meet with him about something.

He couldn't help but wonder what Tony wanted to speak with him about. Happy said that he was performing his job as a superhero wonderfully. No one had complained much about what he was doing anymore.

That was when a scary idea came into Peter's mind. What if Mr….Tony had broken down and actually went after May. That would be weird being related to Mr. St...Tony by marriage. Would that mean that Peter had to give up being Spiderman? The superheroes he heard that were married, their family lives seemed really too dangerous. So, having two superheroes in the same family would be extremely dangerous. Plus what would Miss Potts think of this?

"Didn't you get my message?" Happy asked, walking up to Peter and pulling him through the crowd of milling students heading towards after school clubs. "I said, I'd here in five to pick you. Mr. Stark has something important to talk with you about."

"What did he say he wanted to talk to me about?" Peter asked, feeling a slight bubble of worry erupt in his chest. Maybe people had been complaining about him and he was about to lose the Stark technology that he was using. "Is something wrong?"

"I don't know, kid," Happy said, opening the door and motioning for Peter to get in. "I'm just the messenger."

Peter was about to ask another question as he climbed into the back of the dark windowed car but stopped upon seeing Tony sitting in the back. The smile on Tony's face didn't help the feeling that something strange or bad was about to happen.

"Nothing bad is happening," Tony said, probably recognizing the look on Peter's face from many such meetings since their first such one. "Happy has been keeping me appraised of things that are happening."

"He is?" Peter asked, still standing in the doorway of the car half in and half out.

"Wouldn't you be more comfortable having this conversation all the way in the car?" Tony asked, proving himself to be a sass master even after all that they'd survived recently. "I know I would."

"Um….yeah," Peter replied, climbing into the car and closing the door behind them. "What did you want to discuss? I promise I'm not misusing your new tech."

"Nothing to do with the tech," Tony promised.

"Um…."

"Happy tells me there is going to be a school dance at the end of the week before Christmas break," Tony said, smirking as they watched Happy roll his eyes. "I kind of figured that you'd need a few pointers on what to wear. That sort of thing."

Tony Stark was the king of parties. Peter remembered reading all sort of interesting stories that had taken part during Mr. Stark's parties. Most of them he got in trouble for reading with Aunt May, and Uncle Ben when he was still alive. But in all the pictures, Mr. Stark always looked cool, calm, collected, and suave. If not a bit toasted.

"I don't think I'm going to go," Peter told Tony. He did sort consider Mr. Stark like a father figure since the first time they'd met. Maybe talking about this with Mr. Stark would give him a few good ideas about what to do? Or it could also have the effect of getting him grounded or worse making MJ hate him? But then again, Tony had gotten Pepper to got out with him. Maybe he could be helpful in getting MJ to go to the dance with me? Peter thought as the car pulled away from the school and a rather annoyed looking MJ.

"Why not?" Tony asked, giving Peter his full attention. "I thought you and Margret, was it, were going out?"

"MJ, actually," Peter informed Tony. He knew full well that Tony knew MJ's name. What was Tony playing at here? "I just don't know...What if something happens and Spiderman is needed? I just disappear from the dance for hours at a time."

"Is that the only thing that's holding you back?" The look on Tony's face screamed that he didn't believe that to be the case. "Come on, kid. Let's have the actual problem. I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong, right?"

Peter gulped. He really didn't want to admit that he had no idea how to ask MJ to the dance. He wanted to give the impression that he was just as good a problem solver as anyone else was. But then again, maybe Tony could give him advice that Aunt May wouldn't be able to give him?

"You see...um….it's just…..Idon'treallyknowhowtoaskMJtothedance," Peter said, the words blurring together and sounding like one big long word.

"All I got out of that was MJ and dance," Tony said, bringing the sass out in mass with that line. "Try it again. Slower this time."

"I don't really know how to ask MJ to the dance," Peter said, looking at his hands and trying hard not to fidget.

"Is that it?" Tony asked, sounding surprised.

Peter nodded miserably.

"No problem," Tony said, looking at Happy through the rearview mirror. "Stark Tower, Happy! We don't have time to waste."

It felt like no time before Peter and Tony were walking into the penthouse living room of Stark Tower. Peter had to admit that this was one of the best views of the city that anyone could ever ask for. Not that the city had very many views to look at besides other skyscrapers and such. But still, the sky looked rather pretty up here.

"Now, let's see," Tony said, musingly as he walked back and forth in front of the bar as Happy poured them a couple of eggnogs, slipping something extra into Tony's. "Which problem should we work on first? The clothes you're going to wear or the asking MJ out problem?"

"I think maybe the asking MJ out problem should be dealt with first," Peter said, taking a sip of the eggnog and making a face as he handed the glass he'd sipped out of over to Tony and took the right one. "You must have asked hundreds of girls in your lifetime. How do you do it?"

"Usually I just go up to them and ask them if they want to go out with me," Tony told Peter, putting his arm around the young man's shoulder. "But more times than not they were the ones asking me out."

"I don't think MJ's going to want to ask me out," Peter mused. "Seeing as I was supposed to meet her for debate club and skipped out on it yet again."

"Good point." Tony looked around the flat thoughtfully as he took a sip out of his eggnog. "Do you know her favorite flower?"

Peter shook his head.

"What does she like to do?" Tony asked, thinking once more.

"She likes to draw," Peter said, remembering the time MJ had shown him a sketch she'd drawn of him. It was actually really good.

"That's it," Tony said, turning to Peter as he walked back towards the bar taking another sip of his eggnog. "Can you draw?"

"I...I'm not sure that I'm very good," Peter said, his heart pounding in his ears. "Or at least not as good as MJ is anyway."

"Well...You can trace, right?"

Peter nodded.

"Then I think we've got this covered," Tony said, nodding at Happy. "Let's go check out some clothes for you to wear to this dance, huh?"

"Sure thing, Mr. Stark," Peter said, following after Tony.

"How many times do I have to keep telling, it's Tony?"

"Sorry, Mr. St….Tony."

After much debate about how the other teenage boys in the school were going to follow the casual dress rule, it was decided that Peter would dress a bit more fancy casual. Like the sort of clothes that Tony would wear. That was something he'd always wanted to do. Dress like Tony Stark.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Peter asked as Happy drove him and Tony to Peter's apartment with Aunt May.

"More sure than you know," Tony said, looking out the window to spot Aunt May waiting for Peter at the curb. "I'll tell you what. I'll pick you up tomorrow and take you to school. How does that sound?"

"That sounds great, Mr. St...Tony!" Peter opened the door and climbed out when Happy stopped. "See you tomorrow!"

The night seemed to pass faster than normal. Soon Peter's alarm clock was going off. His heart pounding in his chest, he dressed in his best school outfit and walked downstairs. He was surprised to hear voices in the kitchen beside his Aunt May's. That is before he remembered that Tony had promised to take him to school today.

"Is there something going on here?" Aunt May asked, looking between Peter and Tony in a way that screamed she suspected trouble.

"No," both Tony and Peter said at the same time.

"I'm judging a competition at the school," Tony said, which was true. Tony was judging the competition for a spot in next year's Stark internship program. "I figured that the least I could do was give Peter a ride to school. That is if it's alright with you, May?"

"It's alright with me," Aunt May said, setting an extra two settings at the breakfast table for Tony and Happy. "But I'd appreciate it next time that these sort of arrangements be discussed with me first and not just Peter."

"Yes," Tony said, nodding as he and Happy joined Peter at the breakfast table. "Next time, we will discuss it with you."

After a quick breakfast which Peter hardly touched he was so nervous about asking MJ out, they made their way down to Tony's town car with the dark windows. Peter hadn't felt this nervous about something like this in a long time. He hadn't felt this nervous when he'd become Spiderman. Maybe a little bit nervous when he was fighting against Captain America and his team. But that was only because he was fighting both with and against some of his biggest heroes. This was different. This was going to be in front of his whole entire school and could potentially ruin his reputation if everything didn't go to plan.

"Alright, kiddo," Tony said, straightening Peter's color and handing him a bouquet of flowers.

"Thank you, Mr. St...Tony," Peter said.

"They're not for you," Tony said, laughing a bit at Peter's confused face. "They're for MJ. I figured that any girl would love a bouquet of flowers and had Happy go get one for you to give her."

Peter nodded nervously.

"Don't be nervous," Tony said, looking in Peter's eyes. "You got this. Plus me and Happy will be right behind you when the time is right. Okay?"

"Okay," Peter said, taking a deep breath.

"You remember the plan, right?"

"No. We didn't discuss a plan that involved flowers. It was just supposed to be the sign."

"Well, now all you have to do is give her the flowers and stand back. As I said, Happy and I will be right behind you when the time is right."

Peter nodded and left the car. He could feel his heart pounding as he walked through the halls of the school. Whispers and looks followed him as he made his way towards MJ's locker. This was something new for Peter or at least somewhat new. At least this time it wasn't because he'd declared himself a superhero.

"Hey, MJ," Peter said, nervously stopping next to her locker door and holding out the flowers. "These are for you."

MJ took the flowers as a round of shocked gasps went through the gathering crowd. Peter looked behind him as he saw the sign that he'd made last night unfurled between Happy and Tony. He then stepped next to MJ and read the sign with a smile. He was glad he'd taken Pepper's advice to decorate the sign a bit with colors and glitter.

"So, will you?" Peter asked, looking over at MJ. "Go to the winter dance with me, that is?"

"Of course, I will," MJ said, smiling and hugging him.

"Now who do I see about being a chaperone for this shindig?" Tony asked, causing the entire hallways to erupt into laughter. "I'm being serious." Peter could hear Tony saying as Happy led him towards the principal's office.

Feeling a whole better now that he'd finally asked MJ out, Peter was starting to look forward to the winter dance. But that is a story for another time.

I hope you all enjoyed Stark's Advice as much as I enjoyed writing it.
