Chapter 5: You Can't Stop The Girl

"Wow, look at that. A Prince coming to court the Princess." Ash said.

The gang minus May is currently on the sidewalk of the main road that leads to the castle. Everyone along that road and even the people in houses, look at the carriages that are heading towards the castle.

"Just imagine if I was a Prince." Gary dreamed. "I'd be rich and I'd have servants and I'd get to meet beautiful princesses."

"Sure…" Misty said sarcastically.

"Hey, I can dream, right?" Gary asked.

"Please welcome, Prince Alexander of the Jewel Region!" (Yes, I made that up.) A person announced and moved off to the side to reveal the Prince and some of his guards and servants.

"It's a pleasure to welcome you to our kingdom Prince Alexander." Norman said.

"The pleasure is all mine." Alexander said.

"Now, allow us to introduce you to our daughter." Caroline said. "Princess May." The large doors opened from the end of that entry room and May was there with her beautiful ball gown pink dress, layered like a rose and glittered towards the bottom.

May started walking down the stairs with her Alolan Ninetales to her left and Dahlia to her right.

"Wow…" Alexander breathed as he stared at May walking down the stairs.

May got to the bottom and stood there, looking at Alexander with a serious expression.

"Princess May…" Alexander started while walking towards her. "I'm Prince Alexander. But you can call me Alex." He added as he lifted up her hand and kissed it.

"It's nice to meet you Prince Alexander." May curtsied.

"Please, just Alex." Alexander said.

"I'll call you Alexander since we're not close enough to shorten names." May said, slightly getting angry.

Norman cleared his throat. "May."

May glanced at her dad and looked back at Alexander.

"Now Princess, I'm sure you'll see that I'm the perfect Prince to be your husband." Alexander said.

"We'll see about that." May said.

"Yes, we shall see." Alexander said.

Ninetales growled at Alexander.

Alexander looked at Ninetales. "Hey...it's okay. I'm really a nice person." Ninetales growled louder, showing her sharp teeth.

"Umm…" Alexander said, getting scared.

"Can you not handle a growling Ninetales?" May asked, challenging.

"Umm…" Alexander hesitated and looked back at May. "O-of course I can. She'll get used to me." He said.

Ninetales jumped at Alexander and made him flinch back. She was growling really loud now. "U-umm...Does she not like me?"

"What do you think?" May asked.

"I-I think…" Alexander stuttered. Ninetales slowly started approaching Alexander, teeth showing. "Umm, I think I'll just go now!" He said quickly. He then ran out of the castle with his servants and guards, and they left.

Ninetales stopped growling and walked back to May. May pet her on the head. Norman and Caroline both sighed.

"May, you can't just scare him off like that." Norman said.

"Ninetales just wanted to play with him, didn't you Ninetales?" May said, smiling.

"Sweetie, you didn't even give him a chance." Caroline said.

"Well, if he can't handle Ninetales, then he's clearly not worth the time." May said.

"May…" Caroline said.

"When there's a Prince who can approach any Pokémon without being scared, then I'll give him a chance." May said. She walked back up the stairs, followed by Dahlia and Ninetales.

"Oh May…" Caroline said.

"You did great Ninetales." May said.

"Nine~!" Ninetales said happily.

"But you scared him away." Dahlia said.

"That was the point Dahlia." May said. "If I am to think of marriage, I figure a good test of character is to see if they can handle my Pokémon. He clearly wasn't the one."

"I understand May. But your parents are getting more and more worried that you won't find someone to marry." Dahlia said.

May sighed. "I know…"

Ninetales nuzzled her head on May's arm. May smiled.

"I think we'll still go with the growling plan." May said. Dahlia sighed.

"Very well then…"

"Hmm...I'm sure I'll be alone in here." May/Daisy said quietly to herself as she entered a classroom.

May is in the choir room before school starts. Choir is May's sixth period after lunch. The choir room is usually always unlocked and students can go in there whenever they want. They can practice on their own time and play the piano that's in there as well. May decides to play a song with no one else around, so no one judges her singing ability and so she can just feel free to let her emotions show.

"Okay. Here we go." May whispered to herself. She is sitting at the piano with her hands on the keys, ready to play. She takes a deep breath and starts playing the gentle melody.

(This song is "You Can't Stop The Girl" by Bebe Rexha. Just imagine a piano version of this song.)

May looks down at the keys while slowly playing. "Oh, they tryna shoot down angels." May sang. "They tryna pull their wings off. So they can't fly." Drew is currently walking the halls.

"And oh, but she's so brave though." May continued. "Just like a tornado. She's taking us by storm."

"It's Drew!"

"You're right!"

"Drew, I love you!"

Drew soon found himself running from crazed fans...again. What is with these girls?

"You can't stop the girl from going." May sang. "You can't stop the world from knowing. The truth will set you free, oh." Drew ran into the hallway with the choir room.

"You can't stop the girl from going." May sang again. "You can't stop the world from knowing. The truth will set you free, oh." Drew got surrounded by girls that came from both ends of the hallway. He was now standing in front of the choir room door.

"You can't stop the girl." May sang. "They tryna take our voices. They tryna make our choices. So we scream loud, loud, loud." May opened up more and sang louder.

"And oh, I know you feel the lightning." The girls were all talking at the same time to get Drew's attention. "And it's so exciting, so here we come."

"You can't stop the girl from going." Drew sighed. "You can't stop the world from knowing. The truth will set you free, oh." Drew finally heard someone playing the piano and singing from inside the choir room.

"You can't stop the girl from going. You can't stop the world from knowing. The truth will set you free, oh." May sang.

"You can't stop the girl." May held the note out perfectly. "You can't stop the girl."

("Who is that?") Drew thought as he continued listening to the voice over the loud voices of his fans.

"You can't stop the girl." May continued. "No, you can't stop the girl." May held the note and crescendoed, getting louder.

"Oh, I know you feel the lightning." May got softer. "And it's so exciting. So, here we come." She finished singing and let the note hold out on the piano, slowly fading away.

("It's done.") Drew thought. ("I need to know who that was.") His fans were still talking over one another.

"Drew, please be my boyfriend!"

"I love you!"

"Be mine Drew!"

"Settle down everyone." Drew said. It soon got quiet. "Umm...okay. Listen, I'm not going to date anyone, okay? So go on somewhere else."

Some girls apologized and they all left. Drew sighed. He opened the choir room door and walked inside. He saw no one in there.

While he was dealing with fans, May walked out the back door and to the front of the school. Drew walked to the piano.

"Who was in here?" Drew said quietly to himself. "She sounded so...beautiful. Like an angel. And that song…" His voice trailed off.

Drew paused before continuing. "That song has a strong meaning to it. Almost like...this girl is...trapped."

Drew gently touched the keys, not playing them but just touching them. "I need to know who sang that song." He said.

"Alright class, remember, Pokémon Showcases are all about performing with your Pokémon in an elegant way and really showcasing their full potential." Teacher Elma said.

May's fourth period is Showcases. Theme Performances and Freestyle Performances. She has this class with Dawn. Everyone already has their Pokémon out to practice some theme performances. Teacher Elma instructed them to take out one Pokémon and start by participating in the Pokémon Styling Theme Performance.

Everyone has their own station with ribbons, glitter, and all kinds of styling tools. Since this is for a practice, they are to just style their Pokémon and take as long as they need. Elma will see their progress and give them a grade of course.

"Alright class, get styling!" Elma said excitedly.

"Yay! Ready for a new look Buneary?" Dawn asked excitedly as she holds two ribbons in front of Buneary, determining which one to use.

"Buneary!" Buneary answered happily.

"You seem to really like this class Dawn." May/Daisy said from the station a few feet away from Dawn. She is looking through all of the supplies around her.

"You bet I love this class!" Dawn said. "It might even be my favorite. Pokémon performing is so beautiful, don't you think?"

"Sure is." May/Daisy agreed. She grabbed a purple ribbon and walked back in front of her Espeon.

"What do you think?" May asked Espeon as she held out the ribbon to her.

"Espeon!" Espeon said happily.

Dawn looked over at May/Daisy. She watched as Daisy wrapped the purple ribbon around Espeon's left ear, making a perfect bow. "So you have an Espeon and a Glaceon."

May nodded. "Yep. I even have a Sylveon." She said as she trimmed the ribbon down a bit.

"Wow. That's three evolutions of Eevee." Dawn said. She turned back to styling her Buneary.

"Mm hm." May hummed as she backed away from Espeon to see how the ribbon looked on her.

"Hmm…" May hummed, thinking. May walked to the Pokémon clothes section of her supplies. She picked up a small purple dress and showed it to Espeon. "It's like this is perfect for you!" May exclaimed.

"Espe~!" Espeon agreed.

Dawn helped Buneary into a pearly white dress. Buneary has on a white ribbon, tied into a bow, on her right ear. "Hmm...what else?" Dawn asked Buneary.

Buneary looked around her at the supplies and bounced over to something. She picked it up and showed Dawn.

"Bun, Buneary!" Buneary said.

Dawn gasped. "It's perfect!" Buneary bounced back to Dawn and handed her a pearl necklace. Dawn put it on Buneary and squealed at how cute her Pokémon looked.

"Wow…" May/Daisy said in shock. She was looking at her Espeon and not believing how she looked.

"Espeon!" Espeon said happily. Espeon's dress was purple and it was layered like a rose. Each layer being a different shade of purple. The dress also had a flowery design, embroidered purple. Espeon also has that purple bow on her left ear.

"You...look...amazing!" May/Daisy exclaimed.

"Excellent job you two." Elma said. She is now at May and Dawn's stations, seeing their finished stylings. "You two definitely did a better job than everyone else in the class."

"Thank you so much Ms. Elma!" Daisy and Dawn said in unison.
