Chapter Three: Old Memories, Part 2
September 25, 2013
It was another normal day for everyone else, but for Wright? He was going to have lunch with her girlfriend again, and he was very happy about their first lunch. So he prepared a present just for her, to remember that day.
He was sitting at a table, waiting for her girlfriend again. Ah, young love... It might sound silly to others, but it was the best thing in the world for him. Having someone you love and care at a young age, living your life with the person you love so much... It can't be described with words only.
At last, his dear 'Dollie' appears, but she looks rather spacey this time. Of course, Phoenix couldn't help but ask what's bothering his dear 'Dollie'.
Phoenix
"Dollie, are you OK? Is something bothering you? Please, tell me, so we can solve it together!"
'Dollie' gave a weak smile.
"T-Thanks for asking, Feenie... But, it's not something important, really. You don't have to be worried about me."
Phoenix
"Come on, Dollie! I may not have a special ability but I can see you're hiding something..."
'Dollie' looked away.
"...Please, let's just forget about it, OK? I promise I will tell you when the time is right, Feenie. I promise..."
Phoenix smiled.
"Alright, if you say so, Dollie. But please, don't hesitate to ask, OK? I'm always here! Or what kind of a boyfriend would I be?"
'Dollie' thought.
"I don't deserve your kindness... It's so nice, even the meanest person would soften."
'Dollie' looked at Feenie again.
"I... I see you're wearing that sweater I knitted..?"
Phoenix
"Of course! I promised I would wear it, didn't I? To remember our love. I'll always love you and your kindness, Dollie!"
'Dollie' looked away, with a sad sigh.
Phoenix
"...O-Oh! I just remembered..."
'Dollie'
"Yes, Feenie..?"
Phoenix smiled.
"It's a surprise. You'll get to know it at the end of lunchtime."
'Dollie' giggled.
"Now I'm very curious..."
'Dollie' reached to her bag.
"O-Oh, I almost forgot... I made more mini omelettes. When I saw you liked them, I thought you'd like to eat more... So, here."
Phoenix
"Woah! More mini omelettes from my dear Dollie! What can I want more, my love?"
'Dollie' blushed
"I'm... glad you liked them, Feenie."
Phoenix was pretty happy, what did he do to deserve such a caring girlfriend? And surely he was going to spend his lunch times with his dear 'Dollie'.
They both started eating the delicious omelettes.
'Dollie' opened her mouth to ask something, she hesitated first but asked anyway.
"Feenie...?"
Phoenix
"Yes, my dear Dollie?"
'Dollie'
"I know I might be selfish, but... P-Please, may I get that pendant back? I really need it... I promise I'll give you something more valuable!"
Phoenix giggled.
"Ah, my dear Dollie... This is why I love you so much. You can be shy about some things, but understand that I love this pendant so much, I swear it doesn't look bad! Even if some people say it does, I still adore it so much! I swear it's really good!"
'Dollie' looked away in disappointment.
"...I-If you say so, Feenie."
Phoenix couldn't help but ask.
"Is there someone who bothers you? About this pendant? Did they say it looks bad?! If they're making you upset, please tell me!"
'Dollie' was silent.
Phoenix
"..Y-You can always tell me about it later, Dollie. I'll always listen. If you don't want to talk about it now, you can talk about it some time. I'll always be here for you, I promise, Dollie."
'Dollie' shed a single tear, and hugged her dear Feenie.
"Oh, Feenie..."
Phoenix hugged her back.
"I'm here, Dollie. You don't have to worry."
After some hugging, they resumed eating the delicious mini omelettes.
Phoenix
"How do you manage to make these omelettes so delicious?!"
'Dollie'
"W-Well... I have my own ways... But, the most important ingredient is 'love'."
Phoenix
"I see... I'll be sure to add 'love', too, then!"
They both laughed.
They were having a real good time, but of course, every good thing has an ending.
Phoenix
"Ouch... Look at the time...!"
'Dollie'
"I-It's really getting late... We'll eat together again some time, OK, Feenie?"
Phoenix
"Not so fast, Dollie! I still have something to give to you."
Phoenix reached out to his pocket, and pulled out something.
"Here, my dear Dollie!"
'Dollie' gasped, as she was not expecting it.
"F-Feenie...! You shouldn't have..."
It's a cute necklace.
Phoenix
"Well, I wanted it to be something like your present, so... The seller guy said it has an ability to ward off any evil spirits, so I bought it!"
'Dollie'
"F-Feenie... It wasn't expensive, right?"
Phoenix
"Dollie. you don't have to worry about prices, OK?"
'Dollie'
"W-Whatever you say, Feenie..."
Phoenix was so happy and excited, it was like he's the one who received the present.
"So? what do you think, Dollie? Do you like it?"
'Dollie'
"Like it..? Feenie, I love this. But you really shouldn't have..."
Phoenix
"Ah, come on Dollie! It was nothing!"
Phoenix smiled
"Still, I'm glad you loved it, Dollie."
'Dollie' giggled.
"W-Well... I think it's time we say goodbye to each other... Let's have another lunch sometime, OK?"
Phoenix
"I'm fine with that!"
Phoenix looked at his sweet 'Dollie'.
"You look really sweet with that necklace, Dollie. I-I mean, you always look sweet! But, that necklace makes it better... You get what I'm saying..."
'Dollie' smiled.
"Thank you, Feenie."
She leaned to him again to give him a goodbye kiss.
'Dollie'
"T-Take care, Feenie."
Phoenix smiled.
"This move will never get old... That's why I love her."
