"What are you supposed to be?" Yuzu asked while the small of her back faced the younger woman as she scoured inside their shared cabinet.

"It depends on what you're going to wear," A blush crept on Mei's cheeks while she tucked a few strands of her hair.mm, I'm gonna go as… Miyazono Kaori from 'Your Lie in April!'" The blonde cheerfully squealed as she pumped her fist in the air.

"That's not happening!" Mei grunted, standing from where she was peacefully sitting - arms-crossed against her chest.

"Why?"

"Because she died." Said the younger woman plainly while her eyes shot daggers across Yuzu's direction.

"Isn't that the purpose of Halloween, Mei?" Yuzu's usual persona deflated.

"Fine, but if only you'd let me do the honors to being your Kousei,"

A smile flashed across Yuzu's lips while her heart was beating uncontrollably against her chest.

We are going to attend as couples!

But she knew people would ask about their pairing, so she inquired Mei for confirmation, "Are you sure you're gonna wear a suit and tie? People might ask, you know."

"Have you forgotten about my being Student Council President?" Mei walked seductively, slowly making her way to Yuzu, and held the older woman's face using the tips of her finger. "I used to wear that." She whispered, voice octave lower.

"N-no!" Yuzu immediately spun around and gathered said costume. "You're acting weird than usual, Mei!"

"I thought you have a thing for uniforms. It's such a weird complex, Yuzu," Mei smirked.

People with their flashy costumes were all over the place, taking pictures, striking conversations with their companions, and of course, the candies and the booze - something that shouldn't be absent during this time of the year.

Mei was not a stranger to all of these, in fact, she was accustomed to such practices - not that she was interested nor involved. It had been five years since she and Yuzu started dating, after all. It was a crazy ride but she knew she was most happy with her — the word happy was, without a doubt, an understatement.

Right now, her hand was intertwined with her lover's - thumbs rubbing her knuckles while gently placing butterfly kisses. She felt safe, contented even.

She knew Yuzu loved these gestures — and she was not one to deprive her of that because she felt it to be the right thing and… she loves Yuzu more than she admits. It was Yuzu all along; the warmth she'd sought, the voice she'd listen to, and the love she'd accept. There's just something about her, peculiar if anything, but it was like a magnetic force pulling her closer until they were nothing but one entity.

Ridiculous thought as she would place it.

"You know we shouldn't do these when we're surrounded by a lot of people, right Mei?" Came Yuzu's voice, breaking her from her trance-like-state.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to care about what other people might think?" Brows raised and ready to counter her lover's further argument.

"B-but.." She tried to reason but the words died inside Yuzu's mouth, she sighed in defeat and kissed Mei's neck.

The younger woman let out a low whimper when she felt Yuzu's teeth grazed on her ears. "N-not there."

"That's what I thought." Yuzu slowly pulled back and laughed at her lover's flushed face, "I wanted to tell you something."

Mei nodded, "What is it?" She had a faint idea of where this conversation was going. Yuzu was one to say You're cute, you're beautiful, and I love you in moments like this...

"I wanted to tell you something but dead men tell no tales! I got you!" Yuzu giggled as she thought her antics worked on her lover, "I'm supposed to be Kaori, remember?" She half-expected Mei to be angry but to her relief — Mei grinned widely.

It was mesmerizing, an image that would eventually burn in your memory forever.

"You're undead to me because I promised not to forget about you."

Yuzu stood bemused, and then it hit her, it was that promise Kousei said.

So Mei really paid attention to that movie.

"Now, what is it that you wanted to tell me?" Mei asked as she fixed her gaze at Yuzu.

"Thank you for being just you."

A/N: I have to disappoint you all with this one-shot (can't do fluff yet).

I imprisoned myself inside my room for a week because of the movie "Your Lie In April" and I swore not to watch that again.

Much love to readers who leave comments in the review section on Ao3 and here...

Dorked Babies, thanks. I seriously felt your support!

Anyway, smut chapter, huh? I finished writing it already so feel free to hate it!

Also, Happy Holidays!
