The next day, Sue, Tara, and Lucy woke up early packing, (or should I say cramming) last minute things into their suitcases, Levi even had his own suitcase, the girls thought it was hilarious! Lucy decided to eat a light breakfast, in the past she had been know for throwing up on previous plane rides. "I can't wait to learn how to ski!" Sue squealed happily! "Oh yes I can't wait to get a bruised tailbone!" Lucy said not thrilled.
The girls arrived at the D.C Washington International Airport, two hours early from the flight departure. As they approached the waiting area, Jack, and Bobby approached them, like the gentleman they are they carried their baggage the rest of the way to their seats. They sat back down, as Myles Leland said something to Jack. "Hey Thomas is here maybe you should tell her!" "Myles please don't me this any harder than it already is." "Geez no one has any sense of humor!" He flipped the newspaper, and readjusted his tie. Jack walked over to Sue, and tapped on her shoulder to get her attention, as she looked up. "Hey I just wanted to give you something, an early Christmas gift." Jack handed it to her, as she unraveled the little box. Inside was a little snow globe of D.C, and the Washington Monument. "Thanks!" she smiled and sat the box down, giving him a hug. Feeling it awkward, he let go just enough to see each other's face, as Jack placed his hand on her cheek. It was getting awkward so he let go, and walked back to his chair, never taking his eyes off Sue, and almost running into a chair! Just then everyone looked up to see Howie, and Ottis! "Hey guys, fancy meeting you all here!" He said in his Howie kind of way. "Hey!" Everyone said exchanging handshakes. Howie started to ramble on about only things he would ramble on about when Ottis interrupted him. "Come on Howie, lets go!" He said beginning to walk away without him. Howie said goodbye, and went on his way.
Soon the team, went through security, and looked out a huge window overlooking the plane. "Wait no one told me we were taking our own private plane!" Sue was overwhelmed, but nervous, this was the first time, Levi, or her had ever been on a plane. "Perks that come with working for the FBI." Jack, lost in the moment, slipped his hand into hers, as she squeezed it tighter, he couldn't help but stare at her, and admire her beauty. They soon let go, and boarded the plane. "This is the life." Myles draped his arms across the three seats he took up, sun bathing, while sipping lemonade. As he did so, he swallowed wrong, and began to cough! Everyone asked if he was ok, but was laughing too hard to finish. Sue, Lucy, and Tara sat in the second row, while Levi sat on a comfy cushion by Sue's feet. The guys, Jack, Bobby, and D sat on the row across from them, while Myles sat in the front, all by himself. Sue felt uncomfortable, and a bit anxious, as Jack looked over to see how she was doing. "Are you ok?" Jack asked with concern. "I'm ok!" She signed, he smiled at her, and loved it when she smiled back. Time went by, and Bobby walked to the back of the plane, and discovered a small kitchenette. He opened the fridge door, and then the freezer, and found a box of ice cream sandwiches, that had his name on it. "Hey they got ice cream sandwiches back here!" He knew exactly what he was going to do with them. He put the delights in the microwave, as they began to melt, he took them out, and happily walked back to his seat. "How did you know to put these in the freezer." He asked. "I had a team come in here, and personalize the plane for everyone." D said smiling, and pointing to a table that had a huge boxes of doughnuts. Glazed for Sue, Chocolate for Lucy, Jelly filled for Jack, Cream filled for Bobby, Powdered for Myles, and doughnut holes for D.
After six hours in a plane, because of snowstorms, the team was glad to be on solid ground especially Myles. He ran into the entrance, and kissed the ground, as Bobby laughed. The team grabbed their suitcases from the conveyer belt, and got into a SUV that would take them to the lodge. They went high into the mountains, as memories came flooding into Jack's mind, full of childhood memories of when he was a kid. He could tell Sue was tired, as she put her head on his shoulder, he wrapped a blanket around her, as she fell fast asleep, in his embrace. "Your so beautiful Sue Thomas. I wish I could tell you that," She was sleeping soundly, as Jack moved her bangs, and kissed her on the forehead. Right then, and there, He knew that this was just the beginning of something very special.
