A/N: How long has it been? 8 months? I'm sorry Dx I'd like to blame Covid in my inability to create anything, but really, I blame FFXIV. I spend a lot of time on that game these days. Note: I really love the ShadowBringers content and if you play on the Aether DC, hmu ^_^ It took bad internet connections for me to update this fic, and I'm real sorry about that.

Beacon has become a new home for me. Moving here was meant to be an escape from Atlas, but when I left for Winter Break, I never thought I'd miss it as much as I did. So coming back, I got more emotional than I ever thought. I saw the sight of the snow-covered mountains and the greenery of the Emerald Forest, and I remember smiling ear-to-ear. The tip of Beacon University's tower made me feel excited to land and run to the campus with only one stop on the way: The Rose Café.

Ruby wasn't at work when I stopped by, but I caught Yang during her shift. And, go figure, Blake was there as well. This gave me time to get to know them better, considering I don't see them often.

Yang is the type of girl that loves to have fun and the kind you'd find at a bar on the weekends, but there is more to her than that. She loves sports and I thought she'd become a professional sports player. Instead, she likes tinkering with robot and automation scraps she finds in junkyards and creates something new. And she's going to use her robotics engineering degree to create helpful technology that eases the stress of human work. If she and Ruby work together, they can really change the world for the better. Ruby's coding skills along with Yang's robots can either advance our technological world, or destroy the world with them. Wow! Ruby's made me watch too many robot movies as of late…

Blake is working to be a defense attorney. She comes from a mafia family, but they did what they did in order to support her. Blake almost followed through with the family business if it wasn't for her best friend, Sun. This Sun character seems to be a wild card, but Blake said he has his heart in the right place. Blake had told her parents she'd leave and they were supportive of it, apparently. Blake lived with Sun for a while till Yang came into the picture a couple years back. Blake is a big believer in everyone having a good reason for doing bad things. And this led her to her dream of defending the accused. She understands that people do bad things for bad reasons, but she's given her word to fight for that cause.

I really like talking to Yang and Blake. Maybe I can get Blake to be my own personal attorney in the future, heh heh heh.

When I told her this, she took it seriously and said she could take a few business law classes to fulfill it. While I'm okay with her becoming a part of the shop's legal team, I wouldn't want her changing her plans for me.

Speaking of which, I told them of my dream of creating an import shop and asked me what I hoped to achieve with it. I responded with "global access to important items every nation needs to survive". People often think I dream big whenever I tell them that, but Yang and Blake believe I can do it. And the more people I have like that in my life, those that believe in me, the more I feel I can achieve this dream of mine.

I owe it to the girl that gave me the tea box. The girl that gave me my dream.

Classes start tomorrow, so I should end this entry here. Ruby wants us to meet beforehand. I think she wants me to try a seasonal drink I never got to try since I was in Atlas. That girl, I swear.
