Gold Coast is a coastal city in Queensland, Australia. Famous for its beaches, tourists travel from foreign lands, and if they weren't the locals would definitely take advantage of the sunny weather and the cool water.
Gold Coast had a variety of schools, especially a school called South Coast. Despite the culture of the Gold Coast to be free and independent, the Romefeller foundation didn't have the same ideals. Every school ordered staff and students alike to wear formal clothes to reflect Romefeller's European culture. Of course, this was only during class hours. During time away from school, such as the weekend or after hours, students were allowed to wear anything as long as it was appropriate.
After a day at Gold Coast, 15-year-old Emma Gilbert worked productively on her swimming. Gliding through the water from one side of the pool to the other, she raised her head looking at her friend, Cleo Setori.
"How did I do?" Emma asked curiously as her friend showed her stopwatch's time.
"Awesome! That's one of my personal best! Give me two more weeks and I can enter the regionals. But for now, gotta keep practicing."
Cleo smiled at her friend walking away from the swimmer. What should Cleo do now? She could go home to study and do school work. But that was just too boring and it was a Friday after all.
Taking a sigh, she went to the pier. Unfortunately, for her, rich boy Zane Bennett and his friend Nate were already there. Zane glanced at Cleo and smiled sinisterly.
"Hey, Cleo!" He called out to her.
Cleo turned her head to the sound of the voice.
"Yes. You." Zane continued. "I'm having trouble with my boat. I could really use your help."
"I'm not so sure." The girl shook her head. "I'm not really good with boats."
"You'll be fine." The boy put on a fake smile.
As Cleo got on the boat, Zane slowly grabbed the rope unfastening from the boat.
"Took me a while to realize that someone stole my sparkplug," Zane commented.
"So where was the last time you saw it?" Cleo spoke looking at the box of parts on the boat. She was unaware of what was going on.
In a mischievous fashion, Zane slowly pushed the boat with his foot.
As Cleo felt the boat move she turned around to see Zane smirking at her.
"No Sparkplug. No spark."
"This isn't funny, Zane!" Cleo protested as she tried to start up the boat but to no avail. With no sparkplug, this boat was never going to move on its own.
"Tell you what. If you can get it going, you can keep me. I don't need the bloody thing anyway. My dad will buy me a new one."
"How?"
"Well, there's always the chance the sparkplug's in the ocean. You'll probably have to swim for it!" Zane laughed with his friend as he saw the girl disappear from his view.
Cleo sat down on the boat giving all hope when suddenly out of nowhere a girl with blond hair jumped on the boat.
Like any teenage girl, Cleo screamed when she felt jumped but calmed down soon after.
"Is this some sort of rescue mission? Because I hate to state the obvious, but we're just going to be floating out to sea. We don't have a sparkplug."
With a smirk, the girl pulled out the device.
"You stole it from Zane?" Cleo asked.
The blond took a glance at Zane who returned back a surprised look on his face.
"Zane Bennet's a pig. Anything I can do to get under his skin can't be all bad, now can it?"
With that comment, the girl navigated towards the Engine.
"Wow. Thanks, Rikki." Cleo smiled but suddenly the girl's expression turned from a smile to a frown.
"You know my name." Rikki Chadwick answered.
"Yeah. I mean.. I saw you at school and all." Cleo flustered.
Rikki gave a sharp glare at Cleo.
"But I meant to say hello and everything."
Ignoring the comment, Rikki inserted the sparkplug into the boat getting it to move.
"Hold on."
With that, Rikki pushed on the lever and the boat increased its speed quickly. They took a quick detour spraying Zane purposely before making their escape.
As Rikki and Cleo had their fun gliding on the water, they took a detour where they encountered Emma walking.
"Hey, Emma. Need a ride?" Cleo asked.
"Are you licensed?" Emma asked glancing at Rikki.
"Are you my mother?" Rikki answered with a quick retort.
With a quick roll of the eyes, Emma smiled slightly as she joined the other two in their adventure.
"Let's go out to sea," Rikki smirked.
"Don't you think it will dangerous?" Cleo spoke with concern.
"Chill out. Everything will be fine." The Fiesty blond answered as she steered the boat out of the pier and into the ocean.
As the three girls drifted to the sea, Emma couldn't help but notice the Aries flying in the sky.
"I do hope you know what you are doing." She comments. "OZ might not be able to help us."
"Relax. You worry too much." Rikki answered but suddenly her cool demeanor turned into a shock of worry. The boat suddenly stopped.
Rikki tried to jumpstart the boat but to no avail.
"Stupid boat." She muttered under her breath.
"Are we chilled out yet?" Emma responded sarcastically glaring at Rikki.
"So we're floating. At least we haven't sunk." Rikki answered.
Cleo looked at the sky. No Aries in sight..
"OZ won't come and save us." The girl sighed.
"Thanks for pointing the obvious, Cleo," Emma replied.
The three girls seemed to be defeated in this situation, but a huge island was in their view.
"We could paddle to that island." Rikki answered.
"Mako Island? Forget it." Emma replied.
"That island is mysterious. No one goes there. It's surrounded by sharks, and reefs, and Mangroves."
"Well we don't have much of a choice, now do we?" Rikki responded handing Emma a paddle.
Emma bit her tongue as she paddled the boat with Rikki to the island.
As they arrived on the island shore, the girls took one look at each other.
"Now how are we ever going to get back home?"
"Great question, Cleo." Emma responded in a cheeky fashion. "Ask your friend."
"Don't put this on me!" Rikki spoke defensively.
"So, whose fault was it that we went to sea?"
"The boat just stopped! Things like this happen." Rikki replied.
"Whatever," Emma replied as she took out a phone. "You guys are lucky I brought my phone. We can just call OZ Marina and they can escort us back home."
Emma froze silent.
"What?" Rikki asked.
"There's no cellphone reception. We have climb up the top of the island."
Soon, the three were walking up the island. Unfortunately, they ran into a problem There were two slippery rocks and they had to jump from one rock to another. Emma and Rikki were able to jump fine. But Cleo was held back by her timid nature.
"I can't do it!" She protested.
"Just jump!" Rikki spoke trying to get even a minuscule of courage into the girl.
When Cleo decided to jump, her incorrect figure caused her to slide back into the rock's entrance.
"Cleo!" Emma shouted as she jumped to the previous rock. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine!" Cleo's voice echoed from the rock's entrance.
"Can you get out?"
"No! I can't!"
"Hold on!" Emma said as she reached out her hand in the entrance but she soon fell along with her friend.
Now Rikki was the only one remaining. Hopefully, she could save the day.
"Are you okay?" Emma asked Cleo.
"Yeah. My leg's hurting."
"It's just a little sprain.."
After Emma spoke those words, Rikki suddenly fell into the cave. Now the three were trapped with nowhere to escape.
"Why are you here? You were supposed to get some rope or something." Emma spoke in frustration.
"What am I? A mind reader?" Rikki hissed. "And what rope?"
"I really don't think we should be fighting," Cleo noted. "We should find a way to get out unless we want to stay here for the rest of our lives."
"Good point." Rikki nodded as they walked to the side of the cave. "Wait. There's no way out."
Unlike Rikki, Emma had a sharper eye.
"There's a hidden stairway. Maybe that's the way."
As the three girls walked up, it was to their surprise that they encountered a body of water. The weird was, it was glowing a bright blue.
Emma walked further to the side observing the pool a little more in detail than the girls.
"Tidal Waves." She spoke. "The level of the pool rises and falls."
"So?" Rikki asked.
"So it's connected to the Ocean. There might be a way out."
And with that, the swimmer dived into the pool and seemingly disappeared. Within 30 seconds, Emma reappeared in the pool.
"I was right. It's about a 20-second long swim out to the ocean. There's enough for all of us to go through at once. We can all fit."
"No way!" Cleo responded quickly.
"Just listen to her, Cleo. What choice do we have?" Rikki interjected.
"I just can't swim."
"Just take my hand. I'll help you no matter what." Rikki smiled as she guided Cleo back into the water. Coincidentally as the third girl was in the water, the pool started to glow.
The three looked up to see the full moon in complete view.
"Freaky isn't it?" Emma noted as she saw the island's plant life started to move slightly.
"Yeah." The other two spoke simultaneously voicing their opinions.
"Anway, take a deep breath. Concentrate and just swim out of there, yeah?"
Emma was obviously the first to go. A gifted swimmer she easily made it through. It took a bit more for effort for the other two but it wasn't before long that all three were in the Ocean out of the Island's clutches.
"We made it!" Emma sighed as her head bobbed above water.
Suddenly the three were surrounded by Pisces, Cancer and Aries mobile suits. Lights flashed on the three.
"Freeze! This is OZ territory! We have you surrounded!" One of the commanders spoke from the Aries.
"We're just three teenage girls! We mean no harm!" Emma shouted.
"Alright! We will send a boat right away to escort you. Just hang on tight!" The OZ commander spoke calmly as a boat would appear 5 minutes later to escort the girls back to shore.
Luckly, the girls got off scot-free. Of course, their parents noticed, but the girls came up with an excuse to save themselves.
