Untouchable
.Night Terrors.
I know that I am a deep sleeper and I could sleep through anything or everything, but nothing used to shit me up more than the sound of Kai having a night terror. He would literally wake up and scream like vulnerable man who was self destructing.
Sweat would pore from his face, yet his panic attacks would prevent him from breathing. I can't describe the tremble that would flood through his figure; he was a man whom was freezing to death from his Russian past.
Sometimes Kai would wake up and search his own figure for any fresh wounds or injuries that had taken place in his night terrors. But once he realised that he was now in the present and not in the past, he would soon restrain his anxiety and calm himself down. Kai was a natural.
There were times where I wished that I could take it all for him because it used to kill me to witness this sight. Kai was once an innocent child who should have been protected by those who loved him, but instead, he was betrayed and he was misled for the sake of power.
When we were teammates, he rarely ever used to sleep. Instead, Kai would rather stay awake because he claimed that he didn't want us to experience the consequences of his trauma. But now that we are dating and settling down into a home together, Kai has been a lot more relaxed. It's as if he is finally letting go of his demons that haunted him for so long.
Instead of being frightened of the night that would await for him, he now cracks a weak smile at me and insists that I come to bed with him. Personally, I think he just adores the thought of me being his new guardian angel, I can blow away those horrible night terrors.
When we are laying in those bedsheets, I can now kiss him on the head and hold him so tightly to shield him from anything evil. Now that we are officially together, I can now step up and take on anything or anyone that will unsettle Kai.
We will face his battles together, and together, we will always conqueror the war together.
He's safe and I will never let go.
