Untouchable
He Cant Cook?
"Kai! You're awake." I lit up when he walked into the room. "Will you watch these sausages as I make you a coffee?"
Naturally, Kai spared me a silent nod and paced sleepily across the kitchen to the stove. He still had dark eyes despite the good nights rest. It's strange because no matter how much he sleeps, the guy always looks so tired from overworking so much.
Still, I just felt privileged that he was off work for once. I was ready to grab this opportunity with both hands and I planned to spoil him. Without thinking twice, I darted to the kettle, boilt it and gathered all the key items to make his liquid wake-up call.
"How do I know when these sausages are cooked?"
A blank expression then flourished across my face as I prepared him a soothing cup of coffee. Slowly, I picked up the warm beverage and then I turned to face Kai to witness his head hanging low with a sweatdrop swelling in the corner of his forehead.
Did he really just ask me that!? Come to think of it, I've never seen Kai cook! I always did the cooking for us both because I enjoyed it.
"Er, they go a golden brown colour and the pink disappears." I replied and casually handed him his drink. "Kai." I paused for a second, "Do you not know how to cook?"
Stubbornly, Kai raised his head and nodded a brief no. "Tyson, stop it."
"Wow!" I gasped with excitement. "You really are an upper class boy!"
Before Kai could open his mouth to bite my head clean off, I gently pushed the warm coffee up to his lips to distract him.
"I'll have to show you." I winked confidently and kissed his cheek. "You're going to learn how to cook like a champion. So you're in good hands, Kai."
I knew that I was going too far by adding the 'champion' comment, but secretly, I knew that Kai would be more interested in the task.
As predicted, the guy soon gulped his coffee and then slammed the empty cup onto the counter.
He was GAME!
Behold, before we knew it, we both prepared a cracking breakfast. Kai learnt how to fry an egg and he also learnt to remind me that my sausages were turning black – yes, I was so excited about teaching Kai that I had forgot about the damn things.
Whoops~
"I'm in good hands, huh?" Mocked him with a slight smile creeping up into the corners of his mouth. "Tyson, throw them away and put some more on."
And there was his snobby side.
Under my breath, I murmured to myself. "Well, at least I know how to cook." I threw away the sausages and Kai just burst out laughing. He clearly was enjoying himself this morning.
Despite that my pride was wounded like a kick to the crotch, I fried the sausages with Kai and he dished up the meal like it was his own. In the end, I glowed with joy to watch him take the baby steps into the kitchen life.
"There." He placed the two full breakfast plates onto the table and sat down. "Now eat it all."
"Oh, you don't have to ask me twice." I answered with excitement, "You know what I'm like with my food."
A/N: This was inspired by true events. My boyfriend literally asked me that question and I almost fainted with shock because he works with food at work xD. Honestly, so I do all the cooking at home now, bless him. Thank you for all the comments and I hope you all had a smashing new year – Granger.
