Fairy Tail is the property of Hiro Mashima. I own nothing! I just like putting the characters into embarrassing situations and messing with their heads. All pairings are ones that I particularly enjoy using in my stories. Also, the wonderful Pradesh family belongs to the amazing Desna.

Chapter 3: Big Brother

"So MiraJane chose Gray and Juvia as her pairing, while Kinana chose Gray and Sorano," Arman said as he wrote down their pairs and the reasons behind their choice. Nodding, he looked up at the two women and smiled. "Moving on to the next pairing."

"Miss MiraJane, who is your second pairing?" Kaleb asked as he spoke telepathically with his father.

~Do you think all of her pairs are due to history?~ Kaleb asked as he looked at the list they had been provided of Mira's ships.

~More than likely. It would appear that Miss Kinana put in the stipulation that she couldn't use that they were cute as a valid reason.~ Arman hummed. He could understand the platinum-haired barmaid wanting to help her friends, but then again he was quite the matchmaker as well. Though, his was strictly with his own children instead of those around him.

"My second ship is Jerza," Mira said, though her mind was in turmoil on how to verify it after Kinana's point about history being a bit redundant.

"Justify that shit," Cobra growled as he munched on a sprig of oleander.

"Again they have a long history going all the way back to when they were children, however that isn't my only reason for the pairing. The two of them complement each other. Jellal is methodical, detail-oriented, and fiercely loyal. Erza is a bit brash, she understands that plans don't always survive the first contact and she is just as loyal if not more so. The two of them work as a unit when they fight together and have both admitted that they have feelings for the other." Mira said quickly adding on after the first part. She was caught flat-footed in this case due to having not thought of other reasons other than how cute the couple was or how they shared some history.

"And your opinion Miss Kinana?" Arman asked as he turned to the violet haired beauty.

"I agree with her opinion on the couple, but I still had to find a different pairing due to the rules of no doubles, so I chose to pair Jellal with…"

"Fine, we got Gray taken care of, who's next?" Merudy said as she looked at the list she had sketched out.

"Jerza…" Kinana groaned. Everyone and their child knew that those two were just dancing around each other at this point.

"Hammer time and Blue balls, damn that shit's about as tense as you can get without breaking and fucking in public," Cobra whistled as he shook his head. That was going to be a hard pair to break up. "Any ideas on how to break that one up without pissing one of them off?"

"It's going to have to be a bro-ship, or maybe a Battle-ship," Merudy mused as she started to write down different names. "How about Natsu?"

"Battle-ship...I don't think so, they've already duked it out once right?" Kinana asked as she tried to think of a name that would go with Jellal. She really, really didn't want to deal with Erza.

"Jura?" Merudy said. "They didn't get to finish their fight due to Ultear and me sabotaging Jellal during the GMG."

"It's a possibility," Kinana sighed as she wrote it down. "How about you Merudy?"

"Me what?" Merudy asked wide-eyed as she looked at her friend.

"The two of you are close, right," Kinana mused, "we could make it a bro-ship?"

"Too obvious," Cobra disagreed as he shook his head. "What about what's his name? The one that's always got his nose in a book when we show up to the guild, he's always down to talk magic and strategy with Pancunt."

"Freed?" Kinana questioned.

"Yeah, him," Cobra said as he rested back on his arms.

"Another possibility, though it's a stretch," Kinana sighed. "Why is this so hard?"

"Don't ask me, this shit gives me nightmares," Cobra huffed while Merudy snickered.

"It's not that bad," Merudy said with a bright smile.

"Says you Demon, says you" Cobra huffed.

"What about Erik being paired with him in a battleship?" Kinana asked as she looked at her friend. She knew he was always down for a fight.

"No, just no," Cobra groaned. He'd fought Jellal with the rest of the Seis and they had their asses handed to them. He wasn't going to tempt fate over that shit.

"Ok, so just Jura and Freed at this moment. Anyone else you can think of?" Merudy asked, moving on.

"He's always watching over Wendy," Kinana pointed out.

"Bro-ship!" Merudy giggled as she agreed with Kinana on that one.

"They do have a history, though it's complicated with the Edolas Blueberry," Cobra agreed.

"I don't want these to just be based on history," Kinana sighed. "I know that makes it harder, but I just don't want them to be thought of as a weak argument and thrown from the running because I didn't put thought into this."

"Very true, everyone on the list has a history with someone unless you do a crack pairing, but even then you need a really good reason for claiming that," Merudy sighed. Crack ships were just going to have to be tossed due to how difficult it was going to be to justify them.

"We could add Lucy to the list," Kinana said as she looked at the names she already had. "I can always choose as I'm standing there."

"At least you have a few names to go off of," Cobra sighed.

"What would Lucy's justification be?" Merudy asked as she wrote down Lucy's name.

"Book buddies," Kianan giggled. "After Lucy was published, Jellal bought a copy of her book and got her to sign it for him. It was totally adorable."

"I suppose that would be a decent justification." Merudy agreed. "So who's next?"

"W-wendy," Kinana stuttered as she thought over her four names carefully, she really didn't feel comfortable doing a battle-ship. The glare that was leveled at her from Erza was unnerving. Thankfully she had Cobra to focus on so that she wouldn't panic. She really wanted to crawl under a rock at the moment.

"How would you classify this particular pairing?" Arman asked as he noted down who was kept of the pair and who was added.

"Another b-bro-ship," Kinana stuttered out.

"And the reason for this classification?" Kaleb asked, schooling his face as he looked at the woman. He could hear the couple in question and they were both shocked, horrified, and relieved all at the same time. It was very amusing to say the least.

"W-well, Wendy really looks up to Jellal," Kinana said, gaining confidence as she spoke. "I've seen them go out for ice-cream on several occasions and even saw Jellal ensure that she was brought back to Fairy Hills when a party went late into the night. He didn't act as though it was a romantic attachment, instead, he reminded me of an older brother taking care of his little sister. Wendy also responds as a younger sibling, she opens up to him more than nearly anyone other than Lucy and the other Slayers. She's comfortable being around him and will complain about things that she would otherwise ignore in favor of keeping the peace with others in the guild due to her non-confrontational personality. Furthermore, he's remembered her birthday and sent presents."

"Hello Wendy," Kinana laughed as she looked down at the blue-haired girl.

"Hi, um Kinana," Wendy blushed as she looked down at her clasped hands. "I...um, that is, w-would you, could you possibly not use me as a pairing?"

"Oh, is there a reason you don't want to be used?" Kinana asked as she set down her rag and leaned over the bar to talk with the shy sky maiden.

"I just feel uncomfortable having my name used in some romantic way," Wendy said blushing. "I-I'm a Dragon Slayer and we have mates. It really doesn't matter who Mira tries to pair us with, if it's not meant to be, then the dragon won't respond. I, well, I think it's a little cruel honestly."

"Don't worry, I won't pair you in a romantic way, but it makes it really hard seeing as I'll then have to find a pairing for Romeo…" Kinana mused only to stop when she saw a few of the betters trying to overhear her conversation with Wendy. "Hey Lisanna, would you mind if I took a break?"

"No problem, just be back before the rush," Lisanna laughed as she hauled a barrel over to Cana.

"I shouldn't take long, come on Wendy we can go and get an Ice Cream from that shop on Pomegranate Lane."

"Oh, Jellal brought me there last week, I love their blueberry cheesecake ice cream." Wendy beamed as she followed Kinana out of the guild forgetting her companion in her rush to get her new favorite sweet treat.

"I haven't actually managed to go yet, but I'm glad to hear you and Jellal are so close." Kinana giggled as she followed Wendy down the street. "Can I ask if you would feel comfortable being placed in a non-romantic pairing?"

"I suppose so, but I really wish I could be kept completely out of this." Wendy sighed.

"I wish so too, but I was tricked into this. You know how Cana and Mira get when a challenge is issued. No matter what I said, they just wouldn't let it go," Kinana giggled. She really did love her crazy guild. "Besides, if I win, then Mira has to stop matchmaking."

"Really!? Then I'll help in any way I can, even if I have to be paired up with someone," Wendy beamed as she reached back and linked her arm with Kinana's. "What pairing's do you have with me so far?"

"You and Jellal, or you and Chelia," Kinana sighed. "If I don't use Jellal, then I have to use Erza and that's just scary."

"I know, but I don't mind you using me with Jellal. He reminds me of Edolas Jellal, and after everything with Nirvana and coming back from Tenrou he's been there for me. Like I said before, he brings me out for Ice Cream," Wendy giggled.

"I've also seen him walk you home when they visit and the party is going too late," Kinana teased gently as she opened the door to the Ice Cream Parlor.

"He makes a really good big brother. He even sends me birthday presents and Christmas presents." Wendy beamed. "And as for pairing up Erza, you're right, that's terrifying."

"Well, unless I can find someone to pair up with Romeo I might be forced to use her in a pairing anyway," Kinana sighed.

"Wanna know a secret?" Wendy suddenly asked with a mischievous glint to her eyes.

"What secret?" Kinana asked, confused.

"I know who Romeo is dating," Wendy said in a sing-song voice before she turned to order her ice cream.

"May I ask how you know how you know all of this?" Kaleb asked as they watched her suddenly blush as she realized she had rambled more than she meant to.

"I spoke to Wendy, or really she spoke to me about feeling uncomfortable with the romantic pairing she was being placed in. I brought her out for ice cream and she told me about her relationship with both Romeo and Jellal. More so Jellal." Kinana mumbled once again, staring at the ground. She was practically steaming due to the blush on her face.

"So, Jellal and Erza or Jellal and Wendy?" Arman mused.

"Can we hurry the fuck up, I'm out of poison and the barmaids are both on stage," Cobra groused.

"Shut it Acid Breath!" Natsu snapped his fist bursting into flames only to yelp as Lucy reached out and grabbed hold of his ear and twisted. The whimper coming from the fire dragon slayer caused everyone in the room to wince as she bent down and hissed something in his ear that only the other slayers, Arman, and Kaleb could hear. All of whom palled at the message. Well, Cobra burst into laughter which was nearly worse than the other Slayers' reactions.

"I'll get you some more Erik," Lucy said after she released Natsu. Standing up, she practically skipped to the bar leaving a stunned silence behind her.

"Would she really do that?" Sting asked barely above a whisper as he looked at the Fairy Tail Dragon Slayers.

"Not only would she do it, but she could probably get half the guild to help her and take the blame for it instead of her," Laxus shuddered. He loved that girl, but she was terrifying.

"She's so much like her mother some days that it's absolutely terrifying," Arman chuckled. "Now, shall we move on to the next pairing?"
