Fairy Tail is the property of Hiro Mashima. I own nothing! I just like putting the characters into embarrassing situations and messing with their heads. All pairings are ones that I particularly enjoy using in my stories. Also, the wonderful Pradesh family belongs to the amazing Desna.
Chapter 4: The Phantom Fairies
"Miss MiraJane, who is your pairing?" Kaleb asked, shifting a bit uncomfortably at what his god-sister had just said.
"Oh, my next pairing is GaLe," Mira beamed happily.
"They are?" Arman asked just to ensure he knew who was being talked about. He had met so many people that had similar beginning initials that it was hard to keep track sometimes.
"Gajeel Redfox and Levi McGarden," Mira said with a cute tilt to her head. She absolutely loved this coupling and wondered how Kinana was going to tear them apart. So far the Violet-haired barmaid had kept things safe and within the realm of reason. Sooner or later that was going to have to change, she couldn't keep doing bro-ships. Though, there was no rule that she couldn't use only friend based reasoning.
"I see, and your reasoning for this pair?" Kaleb asked as he looked over at Cobra who was now sniffing a glass that Lucy had placed in front of him. He honestly doubted that the Slayer was even paying attention to the two women.
"History isn't a viable reason Demoness," Cobra snorted his good eye locking with Kaleb's stare.
"There's more than just history," Mira huffed as she glared at Cobra. She had been hoping that Master Bob or even Master Makarov would agree to judge instead of Cobra. Then again, Kinana had pointed out that Cana had gotten Ambassador Pradesh by talking to Lucy and she herself had asked Master Kaleb to participate. That meant that Kinana got to choose the final judge and so had picked Cobra due to his soul listening ability. It enabled him to choose which pairing was the better pair. That also meant that Mira couldn't argue because he was only one of the three judges.
"Care to elaborate?" Cobra smirked before he took a sip of the drink Lucy had gotten him. The sudden moan that filled the silent guildhall had every head swiveling to look at the slayer who had closed his eyes as he savored the poison-laced drink. "Fuck Bright Eyes, you trying to get me high?"
"Nope, just thought you might like a pick-me-up," Lucy sniggered.
"What the fuck did you put in this?" Cobra asked with another moan.
"Celestial Venom from the constellation Serpens," Lucy said so nonchalant that everyone gulped. If whatever poison she had access to was causing the acerbic Cobra to nearly orgasm in the middle of the guild, then it was beyond deadly.
"I'd ask you to marry me if I didn't know I might actually die," Cobra sighed. Shit, this stuff was good.
"Sorry Erik, you're just not my type, but stick around and I'll practice my poisoning on you all you want," Lucy laughed.
"Are you two done flirting?" Gray snarked causing a few people to snicker.
"That was far from flirting for the two of us Gray, trust me, when we start flirty nobody will be able to handle it." Lucy snickered as she batted her eyes at her pseudo-brother.
"You two are so gross," Gray grumbled as he slouched in his seat.
"So you were saying Mira?" Lucy giggled as she turned back to the stage.
"Right…" Mira said slowly as she eyed Lucy and Cobra. The two of them were awfully chummy. "Levy and Gajeel...the two of them have been through a lot. More than most couples really. The two paired up for the S-class trials and worked as a wonderful pair balancing each other out. He's a bit rough around the edges, but he's able to follow along with Levi's thought process. He's also able to work around her when they are in a battle together. They've both shown interest in one another over the years that they've been in the guild together add that to the fact that she can actually tolerate him for any amount of time and I think they would make a wonderful couple."
"And your opinion on this couple Miss Kinana?" Kaleb asked only to nearly burst out laughing when he caught her thoughts on the couple in question.
"That ship sailed," Kinana snickered as she watched Mira squeal before hitting the floor in a faint, causing an uproar of laughter throughout the guildhall. "Um...should I wait for her to wake up?"
"She's coming round, don't worry," Kaleb said gently trying really hard not to bust a gut. She would fit right in back home.
"Oh, well then, as I was saying, that ship sailed so congrats on finally getting together you two, as for how to split the pairing, I went with yet another bro-ship. Honestly, this one was really hard for me to decide, but I finally decided to pair up Gajeel with…"

"Whichever pair you do will be fine, let's move on to the next pair before the group gets back," Merudy hummed. "I think you said the next one was GaLe, right?"
"Yeah," Kinana agreed as she glanced at the clock. She had less than an hour before she had to get ready for work. "This will be our last one for the day, I have to get ready for work soon."
"No worries, with us staying here by Sabertooth it means we'll have time to talk for the next three days until we head out to Crocus." Merudy giggled. "Now about GaLe.."
"Sailed," Cobra huffed. "Not only sailed but mated with a bun in the oven."
"WHAT!?" Kinana shrieked as she froze. "Oh god, I served her a beer...I...I didn't know. Do they know? Should I tell them, what should I do?"
"Chill Cu, Iron hedgehog knows and took her beer from her," Cobra snorted. "They know but are trying to keep it under wraps until she's into her second trimester. They don't want the added pressure from crazy demons if she doesn't carry to term."
"That makes sense, I just feel like I should have known this," Kinana sighed. "Not that them being mated and starting a family isn't super exciting, but how exactly am I supposed to pair someone up with them now?"
"Another Bro-ship," Merudy said as if that answered everything.
"But with who?" Kinana groaned. "We can't use Jet or Droy with Levi and it's a very well known fact that they hate Gajeel. Again, I would use Lucy, but it's another obvious pairing with either one of them."
"What about a battleship?" Cobra asked.
"Gajeel's down to brawl with anyone, so that just isn't really a wow factor." Kinana disagreed.
"What about Juvia?" Merudy pointed out.
"Why Juvia?" Kinana asked as she tried to think about their interactions.
"Metalhead is her Kin," Cobra pointed out.
"Really?" Kinana and Merudy asked at the same time.
"I didn't know that," Merudy whined. "Why didn't Juvia tell me?"
"Probably cause they don't really air that to everyone. They were used against each other in Phantom so they both learned to keep their relationship hidden," Cobra explained. "It's up to you either way."
"I need actual evidence other than history," Kinana reminded her best friend.
"Find her mark," Cobra said as if it made all the sense in the world.
"What mark?" Merudy asked, looking between the two of them.
"Anyone who is claimed as a Kin to a Dragon Slayer is marked. Cu has a mark from me, and I know Bright Eye's has several marks. Light Socket, Rust Bucket, Bluebird, and I all claimed her as Kin. Flame Brain hasn't figured that shit out yet.
"I might know how to find that mark," Kinana grinned as she marked yet another thing down on her growing list of things to do. This one though she could do tomorrow as long as Juvia was in town.
"I take it you have a plan?" Cobra snickered as he watched her facial expression changed to one filled with mischief.
"That I do," Kinana laughed. "I'll talk to you guys later. Take care."
"Take care of yourself. Don't let this get you down." Cobra said as he took the lacrima from Merudy who was still curled up next to him. Once the connection was cut, Kinana looked down at her notes. Maybe there was a way to stay out of the Masters' Punishment Games after all. Too bad she couldn't bet on these pairings, she'd make a killing.

"Juvia," Kinana giggled, causing everyone to stop and actually think about this pairing.
"While I would agree with you, why?" Mira asked having finally picked herself up off the floor.
"Oh, you know, history," Kinana said as if that explained everything. "But beyond that, I saw her Kin mark."
"Wait, what?" Natsu said as he jumped up and nearly tackled Juvia to the floor as he started to sniff at her.
"Natsu get off Juvia right now!" Juvia screeched as she pushed at the dense slayer.
"Why the hell is Natsu sniffing Juvia?" Orga asked as he watched the commotion in front of him.
"Kin marks leave a scent on the receiver," Sting said as if that answered everything.
"That doesn't explain why nobody can smell the bond," Christoff pointed out.
"Juvia uses Juvia's magic to block the scent, now get off!" Juvia screeched as she flung out her hand and managed to get Natsu right in the nose knocking him over backward. "Serves Natsu right for sniffing Juvia, that is rude!"
"How did you see her Kin mark?" Cobra asked, causing his best friend to suddenly turn just as red as Erza's infamous hair.

"Come on Juvia, it will be a nice relaxing evening," Lucy begged as she draped herself over the water mage.
"Juvia doesn't know, are you sure Juvia won't be intruding?" Juvia asked as she shifted from foot to foot.
"Of course you won't be intruding, we wouldn't have asked you to join us if you were silly," Kinana giggled. Her plan was forming perfectly.
"Very well, Juvia will join you in your plans," Juvia agreed, suddenly really excited.
"That's the spirit," Cana cheered as she threw her head back and finished off her barrel of beer. "So where are us ladies going anyway?"
"That new club over on Cherry Hill," Lucy grinned. "Pregaming at my place?"
"Hell yeah!" Cana whooped as she stood up. "See you at seven Lu."
"Seven it is," Lucy giggled, turning she smiled at Kinana. "I'm really happy you can come with, usually it's Mira and you're manning the bar."
"I told her that if she wants me to actually have any good pairs for this shipping war she needed to let me get out and observe people outside of the guild. She was all for it." Kinana snickered. "See you at seven Lucy."
…
"Ok ladies, you all know the drill," Cana said as they all sat around Lucy's apartment. "One for the road."
"What are we doing?" Kinana asked Lucy as she filled up a bunch of shot glasses.
"Pregaming or that's what Cana calls it. For the rest of us, it's liquid courage to actually leave the house in these outfits." Levi giggled as she scooped up her shot.
"Exactly, now drink up," Lucy agreed as she handed Kinana her shot. Juvia already had hers and Cana was drinking straight from the bottle.
"To a damn good night!" Cana cheered as the others raised their glasses. The whiskey burned as it slid down Kinana's throat, but she had a mission and she wasn't going to fail in that. Hopefully, her boyfriend would understand.
The girls were admitted to the club without waiting in line, and from there Kinana ensured she kept an eye on Juvia. When the water mage was nearly too drunk to stand, Kinana struck like a snake in the grass. Helping her friend to the bathroom, Kinana ensured that the corset dress she was wearing suddenly had some issues leaving poor Juvia naked in the restroom.
As the two tried to fix the clothing issue, Kinana had to fight off the handsy water mage, but she did use her time wisely and managed to get a good look at the Kin mark that was located on Juvia's hip right where her panties usually sat. Kinana didn't think she would ever be able to look at the blue-haired water mage the same ever again.

"Th-that is none of your business Erik!" Kinana yelped causing the entire room to start catcalling and laughing. "I think we should move on to the next pair please!"
"As you wish my dear," Arman agreed looking over to Mira who was staring at Kinana with a calculating look in her eye.
