Untouchable
.Self Isolation.
I knew that it would only be a matter of time before the rumours would stretch along the local streets. Some people think that an evil bitbeast has cursed these lands. Whilst others believe that the plague was man-made by an evil human. Personally, if that were the case, I know who I would have put my money on – Boris/Voltaire. But luckily, they aren't that ballsy, nor clever.
The team had to go their separate ways to prevent the spread of the virus, but me and Kai remained in Japan to continue our lives as 'normal' as possible. He worked from home in the bedroom, meanwhile, I would blag my way to the shops to buy more food because I kept eating it all out of pure boredom.
"Hey Kai! You could wear your pyjama bottoms because the laptop cannot see underneath your desk."
Kai smiled and briefly flashed me a wink, "I had already thought of that." He even pulled up his pyajama trousers to show me his new slippers that he had delivered to the house. They were so fluffy!
Naturally, I howled with laughter and watched him walk half-dressed into the bedroom. The guy was really making the most of this epidemic.
Kai didn't mind being stuck in because he's cool like that.
But me, aha. I can't stand it. I yearned for freedom because I missed the fresh air. I grew up blading in the streets, so this was really frustrating for me.
I had to keep finding new ways to entertain myself. Hell! I even tried to do some cleaning and art around the apartment, but nothing fulfilled this void in my soul.
So I started to do what I do best – ignite my rivalry with my beloved boyfriend.
Hehe~
When he was in an important conference skype video chat, I would often message him to distract him mid-sentence. Today, I sent him a selfie of me wearing blue painted shark fins on my cheeks, so it was really funny to hear his huff from the other side of the door.
Then I would sneak outside into the garden to pull faces against the window to make him laugh in front of his associates. Honestly, the poor guy had no choice but to draw the curtains and seal himself away in that room because I wouldn't leave him alone.
I was so bored! But I wasn't out of ideas just yet.
Kai would rarely appear out of the room to get himself a cup of coffee, so I decided to take this into my stride. I prepared him a delicious beverage and then I placed it on the ground with a note placed underneath the cup.
'I love you. I'm making risotto for dinner.'~
Never in my life have I prepared this dish, but the only item left in the local shop was risotto rice, so I had no choice but to pick it up and try it.
Once I had finished, I felt like opening up my own restaurant because it smelt so appetizing. Like always, I had a cheeky taste of the dish and I had to restrain myself from eating it all in one go. To distract my demanding stomach, I was determined to make Enrique jealous, so I sent him and a picture.
Fuck it, I will send Oliver and Ray one too since they both are chefs.
I captioned underneath the picture: 'This is how Italians should cook their Risotto.'~
'That looks like dog vomit.'
'I'd rather go hungry.'
'Try to add more butter in it next time. But nice try, Tyson.'
Jee! Thanks, guys! Even Ray is finding it difficult to compliment my dish. Pft! Screw 'em! I'm sure Kai will appreciate it.
As I finished setting the table, I turned around to find that Kai had already snuck over to the stove to check on the food. He stank of fresh coffee mixed with expensive cologne. It was such an energetic smell that I was drawn to instantly.
"What's this?" He asked, distracting me from pouncing him.
His tone doesn't sound very impressed. Damn it!
"Er, what do you think it is, Kai?" I asked, trying to squirm away from being critiqued again. "I mean, I know what it is, but I want to see if you-"
"Don't patronise me." Kai rolled his eyes and picked up a spoon from the cutlery draw. "We both have been to Italy, Tyson."
I swallowed the last of the saliva in my mouth forcefully and watched him take a taste of my bacon and chicken risotto.
"Well…?"
Kai swallowed the mouthful and then nodded bluntly, "It's nicer than it looks, Tyson." He paused to glance at the messages that were showing up on my phone.
Relief ran through me, but I soon stopped in my tracks when I playfully pushed him away from the stove.
Seconds later, he laughed under his breath and shrugged.
"It's their loss, huh, Kai?" I joked with a sweat-drop appearing in the corner of my forehead. "I mean, they are just jealous, am I right?"
Quietly, Kai prepared the juice for the table and helped me finish the table. He didn't really reply to me for some reason, but I knew that Kai's appreciation towards my risotto was enough ammunition to shut down those picky text messages.
'Screw you guys. Kai likes my risotto!'~
With that sent, I turned off my phone and gently placed a kiss onto Kai's cheek. "Well, I think it's safe to say that you aren't dating me for my chef skills, are you, Kai?" I teased with a little cackle.
"Pft, your blading skills make up a lot Tyson."
Just as I was about to pick up the two plates to put them onto the table, I froze like a fuming housewife.
"WHAT!?"
A/N: Thank you so much for the reviews, I really appreciate it. And I hope you're all staying safe in this scary times. I'm currently in isolation at home because I have had a chest infection. I've given everyone a heart attack because people thought I had corona xD. I have to call everyone in my family everyday to tell them that I am not dead yet. Pft. My advice to anyone who's going to self isolate is make sure that you have plenty to do and always find time for yourself - Granger~
