a/n: I do not own Zootopia or any of the characters. All right belong to Disney.

It was my first Christmas since I moved to Zootopia and meet my friend and now partner, Nick Wilde. I knew Nick didn't have anyone to spend the holidays with in the city so I invited him to come with me to my family's farm back in Bunnyburrow. As the train speed down the tracks, we watched as the city grew smaller. Just as Zootopia became no more than a speck, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Judy, it's Mom. Are you and Nick on your way?"
"Yep, we should be at the station in a few hours."
"Oh, good," she replied. "Listen, Judy, could you stop by Gid's bakery and pick up my order for the party tonight?"
"Uh, sure Nick and I can do that."
"Oh good," Mom said breathing a sigh of relief. "I'd do it myself but as you can hear I've got a situation here at home."
Indeed I could hear. From what it sounded like my little brothers and sisters were arguing.
"Thanks, Judy. I'll see you when you get here. I love you, sweetheart."
"Yeah, I love you too Mom," I said then hung up.
"Everything okay, Carrots?" Nick asked as he leaned back into the seat next to me.
"Yeah, everything's fine. We just need to make a pit stop before we head to the farm."

A few hours later the train arrived at Bunnyburrow Station. I lead Nick down the main street of town as I told him about my favorite places. Soon we reached the bakery and we went inside out of the chilly air. Immediately the wonderful smell of fresh baked goods hit our noises as a bell over the door signaled our arrival.
"Well hey, Judy," Gideon said coming through the door to the kitchen as he wiped flour off his paw and onto an apron.
"Hi Gideon," I replied as we walked over to where he stood behind the counter. "We're here to pick up my mom's order."
"Sure thing. By the way, who's your friend Judy?" he asked looking at Nick.
"This is my... My um... This is Nick," I said suddenly flustered.
Nick glanced at me and smirked then he looked back at Gideon and held out his paw. "Nicholas P. Wilde, a pleasure to meet you."
Gideon reached for Nick's paw and shook it. "Gideon Gray. Anyway, the order's in the back Judy. Come on," he said as he lead us through the back. "It's quite a big order, do you have a vehicle?"
I sighed. "No, but I could run home real quick and get the truck."
"Ah don't worry about it, you can borrow my truck," Gideon said as he tossed me his keys.
"Thanks, Gideon," I smiled at him thinking how far he'd come since we were kids.
"Don't mention it," he replied shrugging it off. "That's what neighbors are for."

Soon the three of us had my mom's huge order in the back of Gideon's pickup and Nick and I said goodbye to Gideon. Then we were on the way to the farm. When we pulled into the driveway, my brothers came out and helped carry in the boxes from the bakery. Then we took my little brothers and sisters outside to build snow bunnies as Mom finished up cooking dinner. As I was helping my five-year-old sister, Savanna, with her snow bunny, I felt something cold and wet hit the back of my neck. I straightened up and turned to see Nick trying not to laugh. Bending down, I gathered up some snow, and with a shout of girls against boys, I hurled the snowball at Nick. In no time at all, we were all cold and covered in wet snow, but the snowball fight didn't stop until my mom came out and told us all to come in and change for dinner. Laughing, Nick and I walked up to the house side by side, parting ways in the hallway to go to our rooms. I quickly peeled off my wet clothes and put on a pair of leggings and a red long sleeve shirt. Finishing it off with a loose gray sweater that went down past my hips. Then I grabbed Nick's gift off the bed and went downstairs to place it under the tree. After dinner, we all crowded into the living room and exchanged gifts.
"This is for you, Nick," I said, handing him a beautifully wrapped gift.
I smiled as he unwrapped it and pulled out my gift.
"A scarf," he said holding it up.
I nodded. "I made it for you to keep you warm when we're on patrol."
"You made it?!" He grinned as he put the soft gray scarf around his neck. "It's beautiful, I didn't know you could knit."
"Well, I'm a bunny of many talents."
"Clearly," he chuckled as he reached into his pocket. "This is for you."
I took the tiny box suspiciously and opened it. Inside was a necklace with morse code on the thin metal charm. "It's beautiful. What does it say, Nick?"
He smiled sweetly as took the necklace from the box and put it around my neck. "It says 'Carrots'." Then he grabbed my paw and pulled me away from the others. "Judy, since I've met you, you've changed my life in ways I never thought possible. And I think I'm ready for another change." He paused and took a deep breath. "Judy would be my girlfriend?"
I shook my head a little. "Nick we can't be partners on the force and date."
"Then we can get new partners," Nick said in a rush. "All I know is you make me the happiest I've ever been and I think that's worth getting used to a new partner. Judy, please, I really like you." He finished as took both my paws in his.
I looked down at our paws and realized that I felt the same way. Lifting my head, I looked Nick in the eyes. "Nick, I feel the same way. Yes, I'll be your girlfriend," I said as I hugged him.
From behind me, I heard my older sister, Brittany say. "Oh look where Judy and Nick are standing!"
Nick and I looked up at the same time, hanging over our heads was mistletoe.
"Well, what you say, Carrots?" Nick asked smirking at me.
"Sure," I said.
I leaned up to kiss him on the cheek, but at the last minute Nick moved his head and our lips connected in our first kiss. The kiss was soft and slow and full of so much tenderness. When we broke apart the shocked eyes of my family were on us, but then they got over it and went back to talking.
After a while, all of my older brothers and sisters and their families left. My younger siblings were sent to bed. And in the quiet, I leaned against the windowsill of the front window and watched the fresh snowfall. Behind me, I heard footsteps.
"Here," Nick said as he handed me a mug of cocoa. "It's beautiful," he remarked watching the snow with me.
"Yeah, it really is."
Nick leaned and planted a kiss on my cheek. "Merry Christmas, Carrots."
"Merry Christmas, Nick."

The End
