After leaving Crossroads, Ren guided his parents towards Akihabara, explaining his relationship with both Chihaya and Maruki as they waited on the train. Arriving in Akihabara, he made a beeline towards the arcade. None of his plans to sneak around and plant calling cards had worked so far. What's more, Chihaya even told him that none of his plans would work out today.

Entering the arcade, he saw Shinya wrapped up in an intense game of Gun About. While his parents were both confused about why he brought them to an arcade, he simply leaned back against a crane game and watched his master work. Once the game was over, Ren walked next to Shinya and put a quarter into the machine. "How about a co-op game?" He asked.

"Big bro?!" Shinya yelled, wrapping his arms around the teenager.

"I see you're still the king, huh?"

Shinya just laughed as he stepped back from Ren. "Yeah! I ended up beating your high score in like a week! It was tough, but I did it!"

"Good job. Now let's play a game together."

Ren's parents smiled as they watched him get so into the game. "Masato, how do you think he met so many people?"

"I don't know. He certainly has a few interesting connections, but this kid seems pretty normal."

"Maybe, but it seems so strange that he knows both an ex-yakuza as well as a politician."

"You think we should ask him about it after he gets home from his little meeting?"

Kimiko looked between her son and husband and nodded her head. "I think that would be best."

"I'm sure we're blowing this out of proportion. There's no need to worry." Her husband said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

While the two of them continued talking, Ren managed to talk to Shinya while they played their game, explaining his reason for returning to Tokyo. "Once we beat this level, highfive and hug me one more time. The card is in my left jacket pocket."

"I've got it!" He whispered enthusiastically, pulling the trigger and hitting the last enemy in the head.

Setting down the controller, Shinya leaped into the air, slapping Ren's hand and running into a hug as he landed. Shifting through Ren's pockets, he found the calling card, covertly sneaking it into his own pocket. "So, I'll see you tonight?" Ren asked.

"You've got it, big bro!"

Ren smiled, ruffling the kids hair and walking back to his parents. "Sorry for the detour, but I knew that if Shinya found out I came back to Tokyo without visiting, he'd be angry."

"You don't have to apologize. He looks like he really looks up to you." Masato observed.

"Yeah, I guess you could say that. Anyway, what say we hit a few more sights and then head back to Leblanc to get some more curry?"

"We had curry for breakfast though." Kimiko reasoned.

"I ate curry all the time when I was here. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner sometimes."

"You didn't get sick of it?" His father asked.

"Not when it's Sojiro's." He smiled.

Ren guided his parents back to the station and took them to several tourist destinations throughout the city. Shrines, shopping distritcts, and landmarks primarily. When they were done, they made their way back to Yongen-Jaya, the two elder Amamiyas completely worn out.

"How are you not dying?" Masato asked.

"You could say I excercised a lot while I was here." Ren said with a hidden smirk, recalling his days as Joker.

As they entered the café, Ren heard a startlingly seductive voice. "There you are, my little guinea pig."

The words caught in his throat as he saw Tae in her lab coat, part of it draping off her shoulder. "T-Tae!" He yelled.

"Tae? As in your doctor?" Kimiko asked.

"She's your doctor?!" Masato asked, picking his jaw up off the floor..

Clearing his throat, he nodded his head. "Yeah…"

Masato grasped Ren's shoulders tightly. "Why did she call you her guinea pig?! Tell me now! What sorts of things did you and her do?!"

"Drugs, mostly." Tae answered coolly.

"...Huh?" Masato asked with a dumb expression plastered over his face.

"Ren here helped me develop a cure to a rather rare illness. Crawford-Ende's disease. Isn't that right, my little guinea pig?"

"Please stop calling me that in front of my parents." He pleaded, face blushing red but moving like stone.

Tae simply giggled to herself. "If I can't tease you in front of them, I suppose I'll just have to tease you during your next 'examination'. Sound good?"

Ren pinched the bridge of his nose tightly, letting out an exasperated sigh. "I hate you."

"No you don't."

"What are you even doing here?" He asked. "The clinic is still open isn't it? And where's Boss?"

"He stepped out to grab some groceries or something. As for me, I needed a break. It's been slow today anyway. But maybe I should be getting back." She said, standing up. As she approached him, she dragged her hand across his chest and brought her lips to his ear. "I'll see you within the hour, my little guinea pig."

He let out another frustrated groan, knowing he would have to explain that to both his parents very soon. The moment the door closed behind her, Ren held up a single finger to silence both of his parents. "I'll explain once we have some food. I may not be tired, but I am starving."

"Did I hear something about food?" a feminine voice called from the back of the café.

Following the voice, he found Ann walking down the stairs. "Lady Ann!" Morgana cried, jumping out from Ren's bag and running into the model's arms.

"Wow, that cat really does love her." Masato said.

"I told you." Ren turned his attention to his blonde friend. "What are you doing here? It's a little early."

"Yeah, but we didn't want to just wait around in our homes and stuff, so we came here to hang out until you got back."

"We?" Ren asked.

"Damn straight!" A familiar and brash voice yelled out. "I let it slide that you couldn't talk all that much yesterday since your folks are here and all, but you ain't gettin out of it tonight! We're partying until the meeting!" Ryuji yelled as he walked down the stairs.

"Ren?" His mother asked.

"Oh, let me introduce you two. Mom, Dad, this is Ryuji and Ann. They were some of the first friends I made here in Tokyo."

"The boy looks like a delinquent." His father said.

"That's because he is." Both Morgana and Ren stated.

"What was that, cat?" Ryuji said, ignoring Ren and deciding to mean mug the feline.

"Why is he talking to Morgana?" His mother whispered.

"He's stupid." Ren quickly explained.

Ann let Morgana down and strolled up to both of Ren's parents. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Ann Takamaki, but you can just call me Ann."

The kindness of her greeting, as well as the beauty in her smile prompted both Kimiko and Masato to clasp Ann's hand. "When will the two of you get married?!" They both asked.

"M-Married?! With Ren?! Never, we're just friends!" She yelled in a total daze.

Ryuji began pointing and laughing at Ren. "Ahahahaha! You got rejected and weren't even the one askin'!" The trackstar strolled up to both of Ren's parents, pulling Ann out of their iron grips before offering his own hand. "Ryuji Sakamoto. How's it goin'?"

"Uh, good?" They answered.

"Hey, mind if I ask you two a question?" He said eagerly.

"Go ahead." Masato answered.

"How'd the two of you react when you first found out Ren-Ren was a Phantom Thief?"

"Ryuji… You idiot…" Morgana eked out frustratingly.
