"Adelaide! Come on Adelaide, I know you're upset but you can't lock yourself in your room now, it's christmas!" Sid yelled at her little sister who was hiding underneath the covers of her bed.

"I know it is, and that's why I'm hiding!" Adelaide yelled back. Adelaide was twelve now, and since she was six she celebrated christmas with her second pet frog, Froggy II… Yeah she realised the name was extremely uncreative, but she was a young child and never felt like changing it as she got older. Like her first frog however, Froggy II got sick and passed away a month ago, leaving Adelaide depressed.

Sid stood outside of Adelaide's room, worried sick for her little sister. Adelaide never really dealt with grief well, and knew she'd try to lock herself away in her bedroom. She should've also known it would probably be around christmas. "Come on Adelaide, the Casagrandes are waiting for us!"

"That's all you really care for isn't it Sid?! You just want to be on time to spoil your girlfriend!" Adelaide regretted that sentence immediately as Sid briefly fell quiet for a moment in what Adelaide knew was complete anger. After a while Sid just sighed.

"For this one time, I'll let it slide because I know you're grieving right now. At least just let me into your room, it's easier talking when I'm not yelling through a door."

There was silence between them for a while, but soon Adelaide finally opened the door. She looked terrible, her hair was a mess and there were tear stains around her eyes. "There, happy?"

"Well, my sister is obviously upset about the passing of her frog, and is refusing to celebrate christmas with her family because of it. So no, not really very happy." Sid answered, getting down to Adelaide's height. "Come on Adelaide, I know you loved Froggy II, but, you can't just lock yourself in your room and skip out on christmas because you miss him."

"And why not?! I don't want to celebrate this stupid holiday without him, and you can't make me!" Adelaide shouted, ready to slam the door in Sid's face.

"But do you think Froggy II would want that?" Sid suddenly asked, stopping Adelaide in her tracks.

"I know that question sounds bad, but think about it, I doubt Froggy II just wants you to lock yourself in your room out of grief. He always loved how playful you are right? Do you think he would enjoy seeing you in this depression, sulking away in your room?"

Adelaide had to think about it for a moment, before breaking down crying and hugging Sid tightly. "I just miss him so much Sid…"

Sid hugged her back. "It's alright Adelaide, I understand…"

After allowing Adelaide to calm down a little longer, Sid sat next to her on the bed with an arm around her. "It will hurt less with time, Adelaide, but you need to let him go first for that."

Adelaide sniffed. "But I don't want to forget him... "

"And you won't Adelaide, he'll always be in your heart and mind! But you need to give it a place." Sid assured her. "I think spending time with, mom, dad and the Casagrandes will do you good! And who knows, maybe Carl has bought you a nice present." Sid teased, causing Adelaide to blush.

"S-Shut up!" Adelaide shouted.

Sid chuckled. "I'm just teasing you Adelaide. Heh, I remember when I was your age and responded like that when people teased me about Ronnie."

"Ew, please keep the gushing about your girlfriend at the party please!" Adelaide responded with a mock gag.

Sid smiled. "So does that mean you'll join us?"

Adelaide nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for the talk Sid, I needed that."

"Don't mention it, that's what sisters are for!" Sid responded. The two girls smiled one last time before sharing a hug.

And unbeknownst to them, the spirit of a frog was looking at the scene smiling, before fading away, leaving the two sisters to have their moment.
