Chapter 4
Peter and Sue were sitting on a couch at the FEAST shelter as Valeria sat in front of them on an opposite couch. Peter and Sue were still in disbelief at what Valeria told them. Aunt May was also sitting with them as well with a large smile on her face. "So you're our daughter from the future?"
"Yes I am", Valeria said. "I'm sorry if I startled you both".
"I-It's fine. It's just that meeting your own daughter from the future is... well..." Sue began to say.
"Confusing?" Valeria asked.
"In a way yes", Sue said. "Besides Peter and I are just friends".
"Well yes I know that but I also know that there is a multiverse of possibilities where you two get together", Valeria said.
"Well the multiverse is big", Peter said. He remembers multiverse hopping various times ago so this isn't all that shocking to him. "I do however have to ask if you have inherited any abilities from me or Sue".
"Oh of course", Valeria with a smiled before she leapt up onto the ceiling and didn't come down. Valeria let go but a force field appeared below her and she landed on it. "I can sense when danger is nearby and can shoot out organic webbing".
Peter and Sue where silent for a brief moment before Peter spoke. "Oh yeah, she's definitely our kid".
"I don't disagree", Sue said. "Question though, why did you come here?"
"I came here because my world is destroyed by a giant robot called CAP", Valeria said.
"CAP?" Peter and Sue asked.
"It's an acronym for "Conserve And Protect" with the colors and look of Captain America. It was created as a noble intention to protect the planet but it immediately went out of control and started attacking every country with weapons regardless of what it was and how it was used. The creators of the robot were killed immediately after they tried to deactivate it".
"My goodness, it's like a world similar to where Rachel Grey came from where Sentinels took over", Peter said.
"What about the heroes though?" Sue asked.
"Most of the heroes died fighting against it. Unfortunately dad was one of the many heroes who died fighting against it", Valeria said with a hint of sadness. This took Peter and Sue by surprise. "Most of my world has already been destroyed because of that death machine and I had to come back here".
"Wow... I don't know what to say", Peter said.
"I understand that my being here might be... troubling but I have to find a way to stop it immediately", Valeria said.
"I... guess we can try to stop that horrible future from coming true", Sue said as she looked at her future daughter. "However, we must keep all information of the future to a minimum. One little slip up and you could probably not exist anymore".
"I understand", Valeria said to her mother. "Since I'm stuck in the present right now, I'll need a place to stay. Do you know any place that I can stay?"
Peter already had the answer. "Though temporary, you can stay with us", Peter said to her.
"Really?! Thank you so much!" Valeria said with a big smile as she hugged her dad.
"Uh no problem kiddo", Peter said to her.
Valeria paused for a moment and hugged him tighter. "You called me that all the time in the future", Valeria said with tears forming. Valeria let go of him and ran to another room. "I better go get my things".
"Peter is it really okay for her to be with us? I'm not saying that to be callous at all, it's just that..." Sue began when Peter spoke.
"I understand. It's hard to believe we have a daughter from the future especially with what is going on currently", Peter answered.
"Exactly what I was thinking", Sue said. "Don't get me wrong seeing her happy to see us and the horrible she came from makes me want to help her more but what if we don't get together? Will she disappear? What if we do get together but it's a different version of herself?"
"Sue you bring up a good point but I do believe it's too early to decide that for now. For now let's just take things slow and see where this takes us, okay?" Peter asked.
Sue could see the genuine look on Peter's face that he wants to see where this relationship goes and began to nod. "Alright I understand", Sue said with a small smile.
Aunt May was watching this all play out with a smile on her face. "I'll go see if Valeria needs help for now. How about we go and talk with Valeria tomorrow over brunch?" May asked as she walked to the room Valeria went to.
"Sure/Okay", Peter said.
-Peter's House-
Some time had passed with everyone heading to Peter's House to sleep. Peter made up one room for Valeria to sleep in with a bed with blankets and pillows for her.
"Thanks, I can finally have a good night sleep for once", Valeria said.
"Not problem. Just to let you know, Sue and I will help you out no matter what", Peter said.
"I know and I appreciate that", Valeria said.
"No problem. Well I'll leave alone to get some rest", Peter said before he closed the door and left. Valeria laid down on the bed with a smile on her face.
She looked at the ceiling above her before raising her hand upwards with a determined look on her face. "No matter what, I will make sure my parents stay alive".
Peter walked into his room with Sue already in bed trying to read a book despite the fact that she she was drifting off to sleep. Peter smiled at her and walked over to the bed. "Sleepy?" Peter asked getting her attention.
Sue tiredly looked to him and nodded. "I want to read this book but honestly it puts me to sleep sometimes", Sue answered trying to keep her eyes open.
"I can understand", Peter said as he got into bed. "To be honestly it's been a long day. I think a good night's sleep will help us for tonight".
"I agree", Sue said as she put the book away and laid down next to Peter. Peter turned the lights off and laid his head on the pillow. The two began trying to sleep when... "Hey Peter, do you want to have children?"
"I do but that's only if my partner wants one as well", Peter answered back.
Sue moved a bit closer to Peter and snuggled into his side. "That's good to know", Sue said with a small smile. With nothing else to say, the two drifted off to sleep.
Elsewhere
Inside of a laboratory, a man was making plans to take out Spider-Man. He had already created several robots that would help him in this act.
This man was none other than Alistair Smythe aka the Ultimate Spider Slayer. The robots behind him were Spider Slayers that were created by his father to help destroy Spider-Man.
Alistair looked at the robots in front of him and smirked. "There you all go. Good as new", Alistair said. "You were created with the purpose of killing Spider-Man and tomorrow we will carry out that mission. No longer will my father's inventions be looked down on. Spider-Man's last moments will be looking up at the machines that will deal the finishing blow".
The robots were unresponsive not that Alistair wanted an answer or anything. However the faces they had made it seem as if they agreed with Alistair. These Spider Slayers had one goal, one goal that they won't stop until it was completed: kill Spider-Man.
The Next Day
Valeria was asleep in the room she was in when Sue opened the door and walked in. "Valeria, time to get up", Sue said. Valeria stirred in her sleep before opening her eyes.
"I'm getting up", Valeria said as she was trying to sit herself up. "Where's dad?"
"Peter is patrolling the city right now. He said he would meet us at a nearby diner so we could talk things out after he's done. He said he would be done in 20 minutes", Sue said.
"Is Uncle Johnny and Uncle Ben coming as well?" Valeria asked.
"Yes. I told Peter that Johnny and Ben would like to know about what's going on currently", Sue answered.
"Yay, I finally get to see them in their prime!" Valeria squealed in excitement.
"In their prime? What happened to them years from now?" Sue asked.
"Sorry mom can't tell you. Remember what you said about keeping future events to a minimum?" Valeria asked. Sue sighed at her while Valeria giggled to herself.
Suddenly...
Without warning, Valeria's eyes began to glow and she saw images of Peter being attacked. Sue saw what was happening and had a confused and concerned looked on her face.
"Valeria, are you okay?" Sue asked as she touched her shoulder.
The glow in Valeria's eyes subsided and she had a shocked look on her face. "Dad is in trouble!" Valeria said. "I have to go save him!"
"Wait Valeria! Peter can handle it", Sue said.
"Not this time mom! He won't survive unless I go save him!" Valeria cried out as she ran.
Sue could see the fear in her future daughter's eyes and spoke again. "Alright but be careful", Sue said.
Valeria looked back at her mother with a confident look. "Got it", Valeria said before she left.
-with Peter-
Peter was swinging along Manhattan as he was looking for crimes to stop. He looked at the city he swung above and monologued to himself.
"Gotta admit, never thought today of all days would be the day that I would not find any bad guys to beat up", Peter said to himself.
Peter continued swinging along as Alistair moved into position behind a building. He smirked as Peter was heading towards him.
Soon enough... Spider Sense. Peter landed on the side of a building and looked around.
"Okay something isn't right", Peter said to himself. Peter decided to jump away and began doing so... when one of the Spider Slayers appeared and attacked him. "Oh come on, I thought today was going to be an off day!"
Peter swung away from the Spider Slayer but three more appeared to attack. Peter flipped over the four and bounced off the side of a building to punch the four away from him. The four Slayers regrouped and charged at Peter again.
"Geez, these guys must have had a serious upgrade", Peter said to himself.
"Exactly, because I gave them a new life!" Alistair appeared and began slashing at Peter. Peter tried to avoid him but he was hit several times.
Peter jumped backwards when a Spider Slayer tried blasting him with a lasers. Peter was hit and yelled in pain before he was sent falling. Alistair grabbed his leg.
"We're not done with you yet Spider-Man!" Alistair proclaimed before throwing Peter onto a rooftop with the four Spider Slayers surrounding him. Alistair landed in front of him and began walking toward Peter. "I will give the same torment that my father had to suffer from before he died. I'm going to rip off your mask and then expose you to the world and then kill those important to you. Only then will you my permission to die".
"That won't be happening!"
Alistair was swatted away from Peter with a purple force field. Peter, Alistair, and the four Spider Slayers turned to see a purple Spider based hero.
"Valeria?", Peter whispered to himself.
Valeria jumped over to the building and shoot webbing at the four Slayers. They went to attack her but she used her force fields to counter their attacks.
While that happened, Alistair tried to attack Peter but Peter managed to fight back. "So consumed with the past that you're blinded be your thirst for vengeance. You're making the same mistakes your father made", Peter said.
"SHUT UP!" Alistair yelled as he threw a punch. Peter ducked and uppercut him and launching him upwards. Alistair fell to the ground but managed to get back up to attack Peter again.
Valeria pushed back the four Spider Slayers before enhancing her force field. "Sorry but it's time to end Spencer Smythe's experiment, once and for all", Valeria said. She slashed all four of them causing them all to explode.
"NOOOO!" Alistair yelled in anger. He tried to attack Valeria but Peter jumped up and with half strength drop kicked Alistair in the back. The resulting kick knocked Alistair off the building but Peter and Valeria saved him.
Later
Peter stood on top of the building with Valeria as they overlooked the city. "You can see possible futures? That's neat", Peter said.
"It's not that simple. I see what will happen to a person and then there are paths that branch off leading to different futures. If I hadn't arrived you would've been unmasked and tortured with everyone you know murdered in front of you", Valeria said.
"Wow, then I'm really really thankful you came to help me", Peter said.
"No problem", Valeria said. "Well we better get going. I want to see Uncle Johnny and Uncle Ben".
"Oh yeah, Sue did say we should let them know about what's going on", Peter said as she jumped off and started swinging. Peter began swinging after her shortly thereafter.
Next time Ben and Johnny meets their future niece. Plus Peter meets with Tigra.
