Mii Brawler and Terry's Basketball Shootout

It's a beautiful afternoon at the Smash Mansion where Reginald the Mii Brawler is enjoying his day when suddenly, he saw a basketball on the floor. Reginald picked it up and said, "Wow! It's a basketball and everyone knows that you could shoot it to score a basket. Hey, I think this calls for a shootout! To the gym!"

With that, Reginald ran to the gym for a great shootout.

When he got there, he saw Terry shooting baskets. Terry smiled at Reginald and said, "Hey there, Reginald. What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to shoot some hoops," Reginald replied with a smile.

"Well, you came to the right place because we're going to have a one-on-one shootout!"

"That's amazing! So, how does it work?"

"It's easy. All you have to do is shoot a basket from the free throw line to score. Each basket is worth one point and when there's only thirty seconds left, it will be worth double points. Whoever has the most points at the end of two minutes is the winner."

"Cool! This is going to be a great shootout so, let's do it!"

Terry smiled at Reginald and said, "Okay! Now the scoreboard will tell us when to start so the moment you hear the first whistle, the game will begin. When there's only thirty seconds left, you'll hear the second whistle for double points. Ready to shoot, Reginald?"

"As I'll ever be," Reginald replied as he picked up the first basketball.

Terry did the same and said, "All right, then! Here we go! Scoreboard... START THE GAME!"

The scoreboard agreed as the timer is set for two minutes. Then the voice said, "Ready..."

Terry and Reginald assumed their shooting positions, took a deep breath and then...

The moment came.

With the whistle blown, Terry and Reginald made the first shot as the timer began its countdown to start the game.

Terry and Reginald are great athletes when it comes to fighting or playing sports and they kept on going as they score another basket.

"One minute left," The scoreboard announced, "The current score is now twenty to twenty."

As Terry and Reginald kept on shooting, the scoreboard continues to add up. This continued on for thirty seconds until...

The second whistle went off as the scoreboard said, "Thirty seconds left! All baskets are now worth double points!"

Terry and Reginald heard the scoreboard's announcement as the points continue to add up in the final moments of the shootout.

As they move on to the next basket, the timer is flashing red. That means the final buzzer is about to sound in ten seconds. The scoreboard looked at it very closely as the final countdown began.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one..."

BUZZ!

"TIME!"

Terry and Reginald heard the buzzer as the game came to an end with a huge smile.

The voice smiled and said, "That was a great shootout, guys!"

"Thanks, scoreboard," Reginald replied with a smile.

"So, who won?" Terry asked.

The voice heard Terry's question and said, "Well, let's find out right now as we announce the final score. Ready?"

"Ready," Terry and Reginald replied at the same time.

"Okay. Here we go! The winner of this shootout, by one single point, is..."

Terry and Reginald held on to each other as the drum roll began. The scoreboard has calculated the total number of baskets, waited for a few seconds and then...

The winner has been revealed.

"TERRY!"

Terry jumped for joy as Reginald clapped for his amazing victory. The scoreboard said, "Terry has made thirty-six baskets and ten for double points, while Reginald made thirty-five baskets and ten for double points. That means the final score in this shootout is 56-55!"

Reginald smiled at him and said, "Great game, Terry!"

"Same to you, Reginald," Terry replied as they shook hands for a great game, "You know, I think this calls for some lunch at the kitchen. Come on!"

And so, Reginald and Terry ran off to get some lunch after an amazing basketball game.
