Peter Kaiden
I ran down the street in the frosty, fresh morning air, coffee cup in hand, chest heaving, the sun beaming at me, wrapping me in her golden rays of happiness. I was late for work and I was trying to make it on time when my face crashed into somebody.
My face hit the cold, hard pavement of the street, as my cup of hot, dark coffee spilled over my crisp, light blue, buttoned shirt and my dark grey trousers as I thought to myself, Oh, just my luck. But my qualms were instantly resolved as I looked into the face of the person I had crashed into.
She had choppy, chocolate brown hair that was braided with beautiful feathers of a variety of colours and her eyes were a dark, deep brown, no, an emerald green, wait, a sparkling blue. Then back to brown. Her eyes were basically a kaleidoscope, warm and friendly.
"Oh, sorry!" the person yelped as she looked at me alarmingly, "Are you okay?" she asked, helping me up.
I felt her smooth, warm hands against my own, lingering there for a second, before they dropped back by her side.
"Oh, I'm fine." I said, "I'm Peter. What's your name?"
She let a small smile grace her lips as her eyes twinkled. "It's Piper."
From where I was standing, she looked like an angel, the light of the sun illuminating the back of her head. "What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," I flirted as I casually brushed through my golden brown hair with my fingers.
Piper smiled at me once more, but looked a little uncomfortable. "Uh, thank you?," she said, while pulling a five dollar note out of her pocket, "For the coffee."
I shook my head. "No, it's fine. Why don't I treat you to coffee? Maybe tomorrow, on Saturday? That's if you're free, of course."
"Oh, uhm, sure? But tea's more of my thing." Piper replied.
We both agreed to meet up at the 'The Little Drinks Corner' after exchanging numbers.

I smoothed my down my crisp, collared, buttoned shirt which was a white variation of what I had worn the day before as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I had paired it with a pair of light brown shorts.
I hadn't bothered with my hair, leaving it in its natural state. I had to make it seem like I hadn't tried too hard, even though I had actually spent hours pondering what to do, say and wear. I had decided to go with the smart, but casual look.
Exiting my apartment, I walked to 'The Little Drinks Corner' where I saw Piper's dark brown hair which was adorned with feathers and had little braids along the side of her head.
"Hey, Piper!" I greeted her as I sat down at the table that she'd picked out. She gave me a little wave as we picked out our drinks: green passion fruit tea for her, an espresso coffee for me. While we were waiting for our order, I studied her outfit.
Piper was wearing plain denim shorts, a simple light blue shirt and a long, white cardigan which she managed to look great on her fit frame. I took my eyes off her as our drinks arrived.
While I sipped my coffee, she and I talked about everyday stuff and I enjoyed her company.
Piper stood up to leave after our drinks. "Well, Peter, I think I should be going now," as she pulled out her wallet.
"Don't worry, I'll pay." I assured her.
"Are you sure?" Piper asked.
I nodded.
I watched her walk off. I really liked her and I knew that I would probably never quite have the chance and confidence to confess again. So I followed her. Piper looked back once or twice, but luckily, I was hidden behind some people so she didn't see me.
After that, there was no one in front of me so I had to hide behind corners and trees.
A ringing on my phone caught my attention, which also unfortunately caught her's as well.
"Peter? What are you doing here?" Piper asked, surprised.
"Well, I- I really like you!" I confessed. I crashed my lips to hers. They tasted tasted of honey and strawberries. It was pure bliss that lasted half a second before she pushed me away. The look on her face told me I'd been rejected.
"We've only known each other for less than two days!" Piper cried angrily.
I watched her for the last time, her brown hair flying behind her as she stormed away. I stood there for the longest minute of my life.
"That's him! Seize him!" Someone yelled from behind me as I felt rough hands grab my arms.
The person who yelled glared at me. "That's what you get for going without paying for your drinks. You're arrested."
Great. Piper rejected me and now I'm arrested. This day just keeps on getting worse.
i-
i'm not even sure if you can get arrested for not paying, so yAY- requests and suggestions are appreciated~!
