Jesús: "Hey everyone. I'm back again, hopefully didn't lose anyone that would like to read this on a regular basis. Anyway, I've been watching Boruto lately, playing games from Final Fantasy XV, great game, and Valkyria Revolutions, I think this one is good, on the PS4 to Galgun2, Bayonetta and Splatoon2 on the Switch, and lastly working. Through out these things I've been thinking of my stories and the one that came to mind more often was this one, so here it is. Let's get to it…" [Disclaimer] "...This is a fan-based story, I don't own Naruto. All credit goes to Masashi Kishimoto."

Chapter 5 (First Mission)

Normal POV

The streets of the leaf were as loud, yet peaceful as usual. People went about their business without getting bothered by anyone. On the outskirts of the main square in a forest within the village a group of young shinobi lurked through the trees, two if them in fact.

"Guys I'm in position." Naruto said into his transmitter's microphone.

"Good. I've finished setting up the traps in town." Sasuke was heard in the receiver.

"I'm ready too. Just give the signal." Sakura said

Their target was hiding in these woods. Specifically speaking they were looking for a cat. It had escaped from its owner and team seven was given the mission in the morning. This was also the third time this week, and considering it was only Tuesday that meant this can really didn't want to stay home.

Sasuke appeared next to Sakura and made his presence known to not scare the girl. Once she acknowledged him Sasuke reached for his transmitter.

"Naruto, we're both in position and ready to do this. If you fail to catch it, Sakura and I will lure it into the town and catch it with one of the traps." Sasuke explained the plan.

"Just in the off chance. What if You guys, or I get caught in those traps?" Naruto replied

"I think you're the only one likely to do that." Sakura said

The three had been Ninja for about two weeks now and they had gotten to know each other on a more personal level. Naruto and Sasuke would often train in the backyard of the Namikaze household or the Uchiha Clan's main house's training ground. After the passing of Fugaku Sasuke's Uncle, Hiei, Fugaku's third younger brother, had been appointed as head of the clan. This was only for the time being, since Hiei intended for Sasuke to take position as Clan head when he grew up as the rightful heir after Itachi's betrayal to the Village and Clan.

Sakura would often join the duo and study their battle tactics and techniques in hopes to pick something up from them. Along the way she picked up on the fact that Naruto wasn't stupid, but he was rather impulsive and that usually ended with him getting into more, unnecessary, trouble.

"On my mark…" Sasuke started "…3…2…1…" Sasuke and Sakura drew a kunai each in case they needed it to scare the cat in the right direction. "…Now!"

Naruto leapt from his hiding place and pounced at the cat. The cat quickly took notice of him and hissed before taking off running in the opposite direction to the town. Naruto followed it as closely as he could to keep it running, but he knew he was headed in the wrong direction. Suddenly a knife came flying from the trees scaring the cat back towards Naruto.

Naruto attempted to catch it, but somehow the cat managed to do some Hardcore Parkour with the nearby trees and slipped right pass him.

"What the heck was that!" Naruto yelled and continued running after it. At least they were headed for the right direction.

Sakura and Sasuke followed through the trees and threw Knifes or Shuriken whenever they needed. In time Naruto and the cat reached the town and they were in a wild chase though the back alleys.

"Sasuke, which way to your closest Trap?" Naruto asked as he continued running.

"Take a right on the next intersection and run straight for about 15 meters." Sasuke answered as he and Sakura made it to town and were traying to lay ambushes for the cat. "I'm waiting on the next trap after that one."

Naruto kept running until he made it to the instructed intersection when suddenly Sakura came out of nowhere and pounced at the cat trying to catch it. From the left. She failed, but managed to scare the cat in the direction of the trap.

"You ok Sakura?" Naruto asked not looking away from the target.

"I'm fine. I'll try to ambush it on the next intersection if the trap fails." Sakura said as she got in position for her next ambush.

Naruto continued running and when he was nearing the instructed distance he threw a knife far ahead of the cat. Said cat triggered the trap but as Naruto feared, the cat was just a little too fast and at the speed the two were running Naruto got caught instead. A net shot upwards and hung Naruto about 2 meters off the ground.

"Good thing I prepared." Naruto said and vanished from the net trap and appeared just in front of the cat as it was about to reach the knife Naruto threw. "I got ya now!" Naruto yelled and the cat jumped and swiped its right claw across Naruto's face. Making him flinch and getting away again.

"That looked like it hurt." Sakura said

"Because it did!" Naruto screamed back as he rolled around the ground in pain.

"Don't worry, we'll get it this time." Sasuke said through the transmitter.

Sakura followed the cat this time while Naruto regained his composure. The cat turned corner after corner trying to loose her, but Sakura kept making the same turns and making sure to keep it running.

"Sakura, on the next turn you'll see a blue box on a barrel. Knock the box over with a kunai and it'll set the trap off and catch it." Sasuke instructed following from above.

Once Sakura and the cat turned the corner she saw the box Sasuke had told her of.

She threw three kunai in hopes that at least one would hit its mark, but instead all three missed, but one of them actually made contact with something that looked like rope.

"I don't like the look of that…" Sakura said as she ran past the barrel with the box.

"Sakura Jump!" Sasuke yelled

"What!?" Sakura replied confused and suddenly a net with some heavy weights to hold it and whatever it was aimed at down shot from Sakura's left. "I got caught in the trap. Sorry, is up to you guys!"

"We'll get it…" Naruto answered, his voice still sounding a little like a sob with the wound on his face still stinging.

"Naruto, I have one final plan. When I give the sign its your go." Sasuke said and landed in front of the Cat scaring it and making it run back.

"Got it…"

Sasuke followed the Cat this time, he moved faster than Sakura, and just a little slower than Naruto, but just because he was slower that Naruto didn't mean he could be outrun by him or this cat. Sasuke followed the cat a lot closer than Naruto did by dodging, jumping, ducking and vaulting over obstacles at a rather impressive speed, in short, he was using parkour. The cat turned its head and Noruced Sasuke was starting to gain up on him so it started to zig-zag knocking boxes and buckets over making Sasuke slow down a little but giving enough distance between the two to feel comfortable. Sasuke saw the perfect chance and threw a barrage of knives at the cat, not to hit it, but to pass it and land all around it.

"Now!" Sasuke yelled and suddenly a large group of Narutos appeared.

"Bet ya missed me!" they all yelled and, ironically, doggy pilled the cat to catch it.

The cat was safe even though it was easily crushed by all the Narutos, and Naruto got it by the front legs and held it up like hed just hunted dinner in the forest.

-Hokage tower, Hokage's office-

"I'm so glad they were able to find my Cute little Tora!" a Very gargantuan and Large bodied woman Said as she nuzzled the cat caught by Naruto and the others.

"God, with an owner like that, I'd run away too." Naruto said, under his breath but he said it.

"Naruto…" Sakura said as she nudged him on the side.

"Thank you very much Lord Hokage. I'll be taking my leave now. Come Tora, you had everyone at home worried." The woman said as she literally dragged the cat away and the cat looked like it was being dragged into hell itself.

Once the room to the Office closed Minato let out a huge sigh.

"Naruto, could you maybe keep that kind of coments to yourself…" Sakura yelled

"What? I just…" Narutpo started

"That's enough…" Minato interrupted the two "…Naruto, those kinds of comments aren't very professional so I'll agree with Sakura this time about keeping it to yourself. Secondly, you guys did a good job. As it is tradition, your first mission is to be reported by the whole team at the Hokage's office, which is where we obviously are. But for at least three of you having conversations with me are a daily thing. So instead, Sakura Haruno! Good job on the field and beeing able to keep up and assist in capturing the runaway cat." Minato finished his small speech.

"I…well…um…" Sakura started fidgeting as she blushed from the direct praise from the Hokage.

"Come on dad! Couldn't you give us something a little better than the retrieval of a lost cat!?" Naruto asked

"Naurto, as we agreed at home, while in this office, and while in official situations you are to call me Lord Hokage." Minato said

"The first mission given to genin is usually something rather mundane. It can range from helping an elderly lady with weeding her lawn to helping a shorthanded delivery service. I'd say we just got something amongs the middle level in that, but all-in-all still a D rank mission." Sasuke said

"Very well said Sasuke. Precisely, this was your first official mission and two things had to be taken into consideration; Range of skill in the team assigned for the mission and keeping the Genin within the village as a simple precautionary measure." Kakashi said

"Count yourself lucky Naruto, when I was a Genin we were giving the mission of helping an old lady who had just hurt her back for the whole day. Master Jiraiya said we were to take care of it on our own in order to "Strengthen our humanitarian skills" as he said." Minato told his son and his friends.

"Sure…Pervy Sage probably just wanted to go perv instead of helping…" Naruto said "…Speaking of which…Where were you in this mission Kakashi-Sensei?"

"Oh me…I was taking care of some paperwork I had forgotten to both look at and finish in regards to the team." Kakashi said and just nervously laughed.

"In any case, with a mission completed you are free to look at the mission counter for more work, or take the rest of the day off. Unless the missions are simple we recommend you only take one a day, but since is your first day I'd say you should all take the rest of the day. Train, discuss the mission, things like than." Minato said and all three young Shinobi bowed their heads and walked out of the room.

"I'm sorry about Naruto again Sensei." Kakashi said as he looked at the closed door of the office.

"Its fine. I know they can all do much more than that. I mean, Naruto and Sasuke took down Mizuki as their official final test for the academy. And all they really had to do was lure him so that he could be captured." Minato said

"It's Sakura that had you worried wasn't it." Kakashi asked

"Yeah, I know she's a good candidate for the position and the team's Kunoichi, but I'm worried her…attention…may have her get in trouble." Minato said

"Honestly, they've been working together for about a week now. I've kept an eye on them as best I can without them noticing me. She's improved her focus so much." Kakashi said.

"And I believe you, but as both Hokage and a parent I can't help but worry." Minato said and let out another sigh.

-Streets of Konoha, leading to the Uchiha Compound. -

"Are you two sure its ok for me to come with you?" Sakura asked

"Sure thing, if you don't join us for training at least you'll know where to find us should you need to locate us." Naruto replied

"besides Naruto and I train pretty regularly. I think is a good idea for you to see what our training is like, as well as better your own skills. You wouldn't want to be just empty weight for the team do you?" Sasuke asked in a rather cold hearted manner.

"Sasuke!" naruto yelled at him.

"What?" Sasuke replied not exactly realizing what he did.

Sakura stopped and looked down at the ground with shock in her face. After a second of thinking he realized what happened.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. What I mean was that IF Naruto and I get too strong you'll probably start feeling like that and we really don't want that. Self-pity can be one of the worst and most dangerous things anyone can fall into, but sometimes is also the only thing some can do…" Sasuke said and walked towards Sakura. "…So, let's all three of us get stronger together, alright?"

Sakura looked up and made eye contact with Sasuke. She noticed the sincere concern in his eyes. He meant every word he said to her and that made her feel warm inside.

"Right!" Sakura said and all three continued to walk again.

After a few minutes the trio reached the Main house of the Uchiha Clan. Sasuke walked up to the front door and opened it without knocking.

"Hello!" he called intot he house.

"ah, Sasuke! Its been a while." A woman said coming from the room to the right of the entrance.

"Hello aunty Kana. Is Uncle Hiei here." Sasuke asked

"He was here just a second ago. Hiei!" she said as she walked deeper into the house.

"Over here!" a voice came from within the house. "oh, Sasuke, Good time. I was about to go to the lake and show Naoto the Fireball Jutsu. I'd be honored if you joined. Of course, your friends are welcomed too."

Sasuke heard that and became somber. The Fireball Jutsu, a technique that while not exactly rare was tradition in the Uchiha clan for the head of the Clan to teach it to his children. Sasuke and Itachi were both thought by his father, but since Hiei was acting as Clan head it was his dutty to uphold tradition and teach the technique to his son.

"As the next Clan head, I think this would be a great experience for you." Hiei said trying to get Sasuke to go along.

"Fine, I'll go." Sasuke said, not exactly sounding all too happy. With all those memories coming back to him, Sasuke was starting to get overwhelmed by the past.

"Sasuke Nii-chan is coming?" a child about seven years old came around the corner and asked

"Yup." Hiei said and the small group left towards the Lake near the Uchiha compound.

Once they arrived the three Genin sat on the bank watching the Father and son exchanging words and Hiei teaching his son the hand signs for the jutsu.

"Fire Style! Fireball Jutsu!" Hiei called and a fireball flew from his mouth. The ball itself was about a meter in diameter and went as far as about two meters away from himself and his son. "Admittedly, I'm actually not good with this or any Fire Stile jutsu. A small accident in the past left me a little traumatized and I became scared of them." Hiei said laughing at his "Shameful" display.

"is ok daddy. Fire can be scary." Naoto said

As the two talked Sasuke walked up next to Hiei and performed the Jutsu.

"Fire Style! Fireball Jutsu!" the young Uchiha called and a large fireball extended into the lake. The ball easily reached about eight meters in diameter and went as far as about three meters away from them. "The technique is very powerful and has, in all honesty a very limited number of uses. But one day even you could make something like this." Sasuke added after his display

"Woah!" the younger Uchiha marvel at the thought and sight of Sasuke's fireball.

-Hokage's office-

Minato continued his duties looking through the paperwork that he had to do on a near daily basis. Taking a quick break after long hours of scanning documents he takes a second to look out into the village through the window. In the distance, in the direction of the lake in town, he saw a bright light and the upper portion of a fireball. He knew only two people in the village that could make such a fireball with relative ease; One was Kakashi, the only remaining student from back on his days as a Jonin sensei, and the second was Sasuke, the second son of his friend and next in line to be the Uchiha clan's leading position holder. Minato knew very well that Kakashi didn't have any reason to unleash such a Jutsu in said location so he quickly inferred it to be Sasuke, and knowing that the young man had left with Naruto and Sakura he knew everyone was likely to be together.

"Maybe…I should put a little more faith in this years Genin units…" Minato said and picked up a piece of paper from his desk. "…I'll call Kakashi in first thing in the morning for this…"

Jesٍús: "Sorry this took so long. I have no-one but myself to blame for this one. I mean yeah, work kept me busy and all, but I've also gotten so many videogames lately that I've been playing those. And even as of the release of this chapter I'm still waiting on preorders for about 5 other games…I have no life…and just so were clear, I started this chapter back on like April I think and didn't finish until the end of June. ANYWAY, that'll be it for this one so I hope it was good enough. Please leave a comment letting me know what you think and I'll see you all when the next one comes out."
