Hey everybird! What's up!?

So yeah, I'm back after my mental health break and ready for more!

Now before we get to the story, a few things…

I would have been here earlier, but I actually got my Birthday/Christmas gift, the latest and massive Lego UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, having spent four days, from Saturday to Tuesday building it and boy what a build it was!

Also yesterday there was a huge snowstorm and it was like freezing inside my house, my fingers were so numb that it's hard to type, much less write a full on chapter!

Now moving on to stuff on here… I have decided to scrap my original Christmas story I was planning for well, this. And also I'm not so sure I want to continue the story I'm doing based on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but I have my reasons…

As you may have seen, someone from quite awhile ago has returned, Tomada The Falcon (Formerly Tomadahawk) and it's very good to have him back here! And him returning gave me this idea… So without further ado, I hope you enjoy this short tale!

Chapter 1: Holiday Blues

The holiday season was at its height, with Christmas coming very soon as the atmosphere was full of joy and happiness around the world. And the same could be said for the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota, well mostly…

Along the inhabitants of the town were a family of macaws, having come all the way from the Amazon rainforest, of course they didn't fly themselves, but were flown by plane, not against their will, but happily coming here with a very friendly human female. The family looking to spend some fun moments just with themselves and make it a memorable trip. However while most of them were happy and enjoying themselves, one of them wasn't as he was currently looking out a window, to the beautiful snow covered land.

"You okay Alex?" A voice called out to the macaw, a male Scarlet as he turned around to find a smiling male Blue macaw around his age come up besides him.

"Not really Blu…" Alex answered as he sighed. "I know we wanted to come to Minnesota with Linda to visit her mom for the holiday and get away from the problems back in the Amazon, but it doesn't help…" Alex closed his eyes, thinking of everything that has happened over the past couple of years.

"Come on Alex, you should really try, we're back home, just our family, inside here where it's nice and warm, and it's almost Christmas, the happiest holiday ever." Blu tried to cheer up his brother as Blu put a wing on Alex's back. "We agreed that we all needed this and try to forget our problems back in the Amazon."

"I know Blu, I'm trying, but I can't help it." Alex turned to face Blu. "You know since he left, things haven't been the same, he was one of my best friends, he saved me and gave me a chance to live. And ever since he left, a part of me disappeared." Alex told Blu as Blu knew what Alex was talking about.

"Look Alex, we need to accept that he's gone, I know you don't want to hear this, but he wouldn't want you to be like this." Blu told Alex as that didn't help the Scarlet at all. "Come on, lets go join Jewel and the kids, we're going to make some gingerbread houses, just like we used to with Linda."

"You go ahead Blu…" Alex said as he popped open the window. "I think I'm going to go out for a fly around town, maybe it'll help clear my head." Alex hoped as he didn't wait for Blu to reply, flying out, his red form against the cloudy skies growing smaller, the Scarlet picking up speed.

Blu knew that since a certain friend of their's left the area of the Blue macaw tribe for reasons that Blu didn't know of, things have not been the same, especially for Alex as the bird who left was one of Alex's best friends. Alex just hasn't been the same since than, Blu hoped that coming back to Minnesota for the Christmas holiday would cheer up his brother, but it didn't help at all. Blu sighed as he flew quickly to the kitchen, where Jewel was with their kids, Linda and her mother also there as they preparing to build some gingerbread houses.

"There you are Blu, where's Alex?" Jewel asked.

"He went for a fly, I'm going to go join him, give him some company." Blu told Jewel.

"Dad, is Uncle Alex okay?" Bia asked as she was with her brother and sister.

"Your Uncle Alex is a strong macaw sweetie, he's fine." Blu trying to reassure his kids with a smile, but Jewel saw right through her mate.

"Are you sure about that Blu?" Jewel lowered her voice as Blu lost his smile.

"To be honest, I don't know, but he'll get through this, remember he's tougher than me and if I can find the courage to jump off a plane to save you, than I know Alex can do this, we just have to be patient." Blu trying his best to show positive. "I better get going, he already has a very long head start on me." Blu needing to catch up with Alex, but not before giving Jewel a quick kiss on the cheek.

After that Blu flew back to the window where Alex was as he then spread his wings and flew on out of the house into the cold wintry air. While both Blu and Alex were tropical birds and meant for more humid areas of the world, the two were accustomed to the atmosphere of Minnesota, having spent their little years to young adult years living with Linda and becoming used to the cold temperatures. Of course having spent years in the Amazon now made them used to the hotter feeling, so they lost some of that old feeling.

"I should have grabbed a scarf before I left…" Blu noted as his whole body shook from the cold air blowing through his feathers.

While Alex had a very clear head start from Blu, it didn't take too long to find the red feathered bird flying around in the skies above town, after all, what were the chances there was another Scarlet way up north…

Alex, hold up!" Blu called out as he was close enough, Alex slowed down, turning his head around to see Blu come to him.

"Blu, what are you doing here?" Alex asked. "I really need to be alone right now."

"Do you really think I'll let you go out by yourself?" Blu said as he came besides the Scarlet. "You know I can't do that."

"I guess you're right Blu." Alex gave up as the two continued flying above town, where below everyone was in the holiday spirit, the town decorated with lights and people doing some Christmas shopping. "If only I can be as happy as everyone else…" Alex commented.

"Look brother, you'll get through this, I know you will, you went through so much already and you're not alone in this." Blu reminded Alex.

"I know Blu and I want to believe I can, but still I don't get why I feel like this." Alex replied. "I own so much to him I wouldn't be here right now if he didn't risk his life for me."

"And I'm thankful for that, but he didn't leave because of you, he had his own reasons…" Blu began, but Alex stopped him as the Scarlet wasn't paying attention to Blu, for he was looking downward. "Alex?"

The two were currently flying at the town's outskirts, where there was hardly any buildings and more like rolling fields, covered in whiteness. However something caught Alex's eye as there was something out of place down below, something laying on top of the white snow. Something very familiar…

"It can't be…" Alex then diving down, surprising Blu as he was left behind, curious about what came over the Scarlet.

"Alex, wait!" Blu called after his brother, who didn't stop, much less turn back around, blu having no choice but to follow.

However there was a reason Alex was diving down, back to the ground, for against the white covered Earth, there was a small mass of black, which Alex found familiar and as he came closer, he could make out that they were large feathers. Landing down to the ground a couple of feet away, Alex walked up to the black mass as Alex made out other features, like its claws and most importantly the face, which was practically covered up by snow like the rest of the body. Even still, Alex knew that face right away as he was now right next to the large bird, who was unconscious and didn't see Alex and Blu come.

"It's impossible…" Alex spoke softly as he gently wiped off the snow from the large bird and getting a better look at him. "Tomada…"

And I'll leave it there!

And before I end the first chapter, I will say that what happens here doesn't reflect what happened in real life, this is just an imaginary story, nothing more than that!

Also, this does continue the storyline after The Scarlet Side and Choices, just in case any of you are confused!

So with that…

See everybird later!
