Severus heaved a bit of a sad sigh as he watched his twelve-year-old son leave the house with Patches as they were getting ready to go out the door to go on a sleighride with the Weasley family. That's when suddenly he walked back into his and Lily's bedroom and viewed pictures of him, Harry, and little from when Harry was only a year old until he was around ten and heaved another sad sigh.

Time had gone by so fast and even though he loved Harry as much as he did when he was little, he missed reading him bedtime stories, giving him baths, and holding him inside his arms. He started remembering a particular Christmas when Harry was only five years old and he was scheduled to play Joseph in their Nativity play and Tobey was going to be the baby Jesus. Severus withdrew his wand and pulled out a rather thin and white silky substance and added it to his pensive and then looked inside of it to see Lily, Sarah, Tobey, and a little boy with short black hair and bright green eyes without glasses and a lightning bolt shaped scar come into view.

Flashback

"Harry, come along!" Lily called while she held Sarah by the hand with one of her hands and pushed the pram that Tobey was in with her other hand. They were at the wizarding mall getting ready to go see Santa Claus, and for Tobey this was his first Christmas as he was only six months old. Since Harry had already received a puppy for his birthday (as he had been wanting one ever since he was Sarah's age) he had absolutely no idea what he wanted to ask Santa for this year. Except since he was old enough for it now, maybe a bicycle.

That's when suddenly Tobey began to cry, and Lily wrinkled her nose and made a face. However, she breathed a sigh of relief as her husband Severus was coming out of the restroom. "Phew! Thank goodness! Severus, Tobey needs to be changed. Do you think that you can change him while I go take Harry and Sarah and get in line?" She wondered as Tobey continued crying and Severus picked him up and gathered him inside his arms and softly hushed him while starting to gently rock him inside his arms and then kissed the top of his head.

"Alright, just give me the diaper bag." He replied and a few seconds later Lily handed it over to him and hung the strap over his shoulder before he started carrying the cranky baby boy back into the restroom with him. That's when Lily took both Harry and Sarah by the hand again and went to go get into the line to see Santa Claus. Sarah still wasn't too sure about seeing him although she didn't cry and wound up sitting in his lap after a bit of coaxing from her mother and told him that she wanted a baby doll that cried, ate, and wet its diaper.

Harry bravely took his turn and asked Santa for a bright blue bicycle with a golden horn on the handlebars. After both children took their turns Severus had come back and placed baby Tobey inside Santa's arms but he was not happy about it at all and cried uncontrollably. Later that evening at supper, Severus had some exciting news about his sons.

"Well Harry as you already may know our church is getting ready to have its annual Nativity play." He began softly with a grin while Harry secretly fed his puppy table scraps underneath the table and Lily fed Tobey his baby food.

"Yes Daddy I know." Harry replied happily.

"Harry, don't feed Patches underneath the table." His father began.

"Sorry Daddy." Harry replied sheepishly before his father simply just heaved a sigh.

"It's alright son, but anyways this year Tobey is playing baby Jesus since he is a baby, so how would you like to play that part of Joseph?" He questioned him as Harry just grinned in response since he loved being one of the major stars of the show.

"I'd love to." He told him before taking a sip of his milk and then went to go in and use the bathroom. After supper Lily wiped Tobey's mouth with a bib and then it was her turn to give him a bath while Severus read to Harry one of his favorite Christmas stories. "Yes, Virginia There Is a Santa Claus." (As Severus watched this memory of little Harry falling asleep inside his arms before the story was over, he grew a bit misty eyed.) After he was finished, he gently kissed Harry's forehead and put him to bed, pulling the covers up over him so he was all snug and warm.

That night Severus and Lily hardly got any sleep since Tobey was up half the night crying. Lily discovered that it was because he had had a fever and unfortunately for them it was Christmas Eve, and it was supposed to be the night of their play. "I'm sorry sweetheart, I know that you were really looking forward to the play." Lily apologized sympathetically to her eldest son while holding her youngest son inside her arms.

"It's alright Mummy, I have an idea." Harry said before he started whispering the plan to Stevie whose face instantly lit up at the idea as she took baby Tobey and laid him inside his playpen. Then they both got out the dress up costumes and dressed up as Mary and Joseph and knelt down at either side of the playpen and Lily smiled before she snapped a picture of them together.

End of Flashback

.

Severus smiled himself as he chose this moment to pull his head out of the pensive and then turned to look at that exact picture on the wall, and the one right next to it where he was showing Harry to ride a bike even though he accidentally lost control and Harry ran into the Christmas tree and it came crashing over the presents, but he couldn't help but chuckle about it.

For ever since he was a small child, Harry had had the true meaning of Christmas inside his heart. It isn't about where or what you're doing for Christmas this year, it's who you're spending it with. So wherever you are and whoever you may be, I hope that your Christmas is extra magical this year!
