Author's Notes and Disclaimer: HELLO-O-O READERS! :D Yes, we're back with the next episode in this fanfiction version of the 1978-79 Hanna-Barbera cartoon Godzilla: The Original Animated Series. I do not own the characters of that series, Hanna-Barbera does, or should I say Warner Bros. does. This incarnation of Godzilla is owned by H-B and Toho. I only own my self-insert, Vicky. I also do not own the story that is based on the second episode of this series.

In the last episode, we've met Vicky who has apparently been friends with the kaiju Godzilla and Godzooky from when both of them were younger and was sent out as part of a number of search teams to find them when they disappeared suddenly. As it turns out, a young Godzilla had gotten curious about a ship called the Calico passing by and decided to follow it, with Zooky not too far behind. When the Calico crew helped rescue Godzooky from a reef during a storm, an agreement was made: The crew would help look after Godzooky, and, in return, Godzilla would protect the Calico from danger. Thus, that was the arrangement, but it turns out there have been more than a few bumps in the road before relations between Godzilla and the humans became a bit more amicable. And not only have things become friendly to the point of familial between Godzilla and the human crew, but it seems Godzilla is showing a bit more mercy towards his opponents unless he feels more forceful measures need to be taken. And it's all because of what happened when Godzilla fought in a city area for the first time. I wonder what happened.

And now it turns out that Monster Island is not the only party interested in Godzilla; apparently both the Global Defense Force and MONARCH have been keeping tabs on him and the Calico crew. Not to mention there's now another Gojiran running around. Will the surprises ever stop?

Well, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint), no. In fact, they are going to keep on coming.

So, without further ado, let's set the stage for the second episode…

CHAPTER 1

San Francisco, California, 09:20 hours

To say it was too calm a day in San Francisco was up for debate; there was the usual hustle and bustle and stress of work and finding a way to get there, not to mention the usual constant vigilance of earthquake warnings. When one lives in the city known for one of history's most terrifying earthquakes, there is no such thing as "too prepared".

However, there was a certain quietness in the air, the kind that occurs before disaster. And at a construction site on one the city blocks, the quietness first broke. There was no warning, no time to escape, and all lives were lost as the ground fell beneath them all.

The news hit the city like a boulder, prompting panic to spread and evacuation efforts to be made. Meanwhile, geologists hypothesized and theorized what could have caused that terrifying "sinkhole", as they thought it was. However, amidst the efforts, more lives were lost when a block of apartment buildings fell as the earth opened up and swallowed them whole. Terror rippled through the streets. The geologists were now under immense pressure to determine the cause of the loss of buildings and lives.

Not one of them knew of the terrifying beast that raged below…

Short, but frightening, yes? Well, get used to the frightening part, folks, because from here on out, I'm turning up the intensity. Yes sir, things won't play out like the original episode at all; there are more serious consequences involved, the fear and death factor will be high, and by the end of this story you will very likely be calling me a sadist. Yes, something bad is going to happen to a character; something real bad. I won't say who, though.

So, anyway, try to stick with me, read and review, and if anything sticks out as erroneous, please let me know. Thank you.
