A/N: I'm not very well versed in Halo lore, and I'm too lazy to do in depth research, so most of the info I'm using is relatively light. Please don't flame me for making a minor mistake. Me no own RvB of BNHA, they belong to their respective owners
"Fleet Admiral Hood!" A tall, well built man wearing the standard Navy uniform holding a data pad ran past a group of Marines training with their rifles to the newly appointed Fleet Admiral. "There was a large slipstream warp identified near Madrigal. The direction of the transit was determined to be Earth, but we couldn't get a good reading on the ship that made the jump."
"Do we have any ships nearby?" One of Admiral Hood's aides asked.
"Yes sir, but all of them are accounted for. The ship was determined to lift off from Madrigal's surface, but no one has been living there for decades."
"Do you think it could be the Covenant?"
"I doubt it's the Covenant. They're too slick for that." Another aide named Smith argued.
"Right before the ship entered slipstream, we were able to identify a single individual aboard that ship. As Madrigal has been glassed by Covenant forces, the officer in charge there ordered a Spartan team to investigate." The Navy officer added to his previous statements.
"Smith is right." Hood decided. "The Covenant is too smart to unwittingly reveal themself. And I doubt a single Covenant soldier could take on Earth themself, Arbiter or not. However, still alert the nearby systems for a possible attack. Traces of the Flood could be on that ship, and if there is, get ready to blow it to smithereens using our MACs."
"Understood!" The Navy officer saluted, before hustling away.
Over Madrigal, September 20, Year 2552
"Oy Victor! You hear from Cappy that we're headin' down to the planet?" Petty Officer Second Class Otto-031 called to his teammate, also a Petty Officer Second Class.
"Yeah." Victor-101 replied. "Heard there was a massive slipstream jump."
"You two, stop lazing around and get your armor on. We're going in 2 hours." Their team leader, Chief Petty Officer Margaret-053, leaned into their room and shouted.
"Alright alright Margy. No need to get your tits aflutter." Otto laughed.
"You ever been on a glassed planet before?" Otto whispered to the fourth and final member of his team, Petty Officer Second Class Roma-143.
"This is my first time, and I got my helmet camera ready. Although I bet there's just going to be a lot of rubble, and that's it. This whole slipstream jump has got nothing to do with the planet." She bet.
"This mission'll just be a piece o' cake then." They boarded the Pelican, and felt the familiar acceleration as they sped away from their mothership. As they entered the ruined planet's atmosphere, they felt a strange turbulence rock their ship. As the ship touched down on the glassy surface of the planet, Black Team hurried out of the ship.
"They said the ship took off from here." Roma said.
"We'll split up into two groups. Me and Victor will take the west, and you and Otto will take the east. Hike 5 kilometers, and if you don't see anything, comeback. If you do, message the other team on the radio. Got it?" Margaret ordered.
"Aye ma'am." Otto exaggeratingly saluted, before skipping off like a schoolgirl. Roma laughed openly at the sight, and Margaret allowed herself a little smile. Victor stood chock still. They went their separate ways and walked across the barren landscape.
30 minutes had passed, and Victor had not said a word. Margaret knew he was somewhat of a loner, but thought the silence was quite suspicious.
"Victor, is there anything wrong?" She questioned him.
"No. Everything is fine." He responded coldly.
"I'm your team leader. If there's something wrong, you can just tell me." She told him.
Roma and Otto were about to head back after their sixth kilometer, before they saw something suspicious. There was a solid titanium door on the ground, and when they pulled it open, they saw an intricate airlock separating the acidic atmosphere of the planet and pristine living quarters. They immediately called Margaret and Victor over, and together they scanned the ground below them. They found 2 living beings in the ground, and prepared to enter the underground complex. The lights were on, and they found that the air inside was completely breathable.
Roma quickly located dozens of alarms and shut off as many as she could. She shot out security cameras with silenced pistols, and moved through the facility.
"-is that normal?" A voice rang through the hallway. Black Team quietly snuck towards the direction of the sound, and they found themself in a large storage room, labeled WAREHOUSE. Inside was a single woman, who appeared to be shutting off a computer. As Margaret motioned them to move closer, the lone woman called out.
"You guys set off 7 motion trackers and I caught you on security cams 3 times. Sheesh, what is Earth doing these days?" Stunned that they had already been found out, only the smell of smoke brought them back to earth. "Please don't cause any ruckus, I just wanna have my damn cigarette."
"You, we received a signal detailing a ship leaving the planet. It's currently headed towards Earth. What is your objective?" Margaret stuttered. The woman thought for a bit, before answering.
"To cause as much ruckus as possible I guess?"
"Like, protests and stuff?" Otto asked.
"Boss didn't tell him what to do, but the asshole is probably going to blow some ships up or something. Kill a few hundred people and whatnot." She sighed and blew her cigarette. "Listen, neither him nor me want to do that, but it's part of our job description. Mass murderers."
"That's a bright joke mate. Do you really think one man can take on the entire UNSC Earth Defense Force?" Otto smirked. The rest of the team were inclined to believe him, but Victor was shaking.
"He's pretty damn strong. I wouldn't underestimate him."
"Are you the one known as Light?" Victor asked in a shaky voice. The woman hesitated, but answered.
"Why yes. I'm surprised you know that, Victor Albertez." Light answered.
"Victor, you know her?" Roma asked. Without saying another word, Victor brought up his SRS99-AM sniper rifle and shot a high velocity, 14.5x114mm round at the base of Light's neck, hoping to decapitate her. In a fluid motion, Light conjured a sword that appeared to be made of lasers, and deflected the bullet without looking. She then spun around, and Victor felt an icy cold spear slide through his chest.
"Victor!" Margaret shouted worriedly. Roma immediately knelt down to treat his wounds, while Otto and Margaret trained their guns on the threat. (From here on out, I'm making up headcanon, as I can't find anything about Black Team's relatives. Please forgive me :( )
"I told you to not fuck anything up." She said coldly.
"You killed Alberto! You killed my uncle!" Victor spat.
"I've killed dozens of people. I have no clue who you're talking about." Light said without remorse.
"My favorite uncle lived on this planet. He managed to escape the Covenant glassing, and hid the nearby debris field around Hesiod. The UNSC managed to evacuate most of the people hiding in the rubble, but he was one of the few who didn't make it. I received one picture in 15 years from him. And do you know what that picture was?" Victor rambled.
"Ain't got a clue." Light said.
"It was of you stabbing him, and it was captioned: Beware of Light. The UNSC tracked the signal down and found his body next to a cobbled together computer and generator."
"That's what that flash of light was." She mused.
"Don't you feel anything? Do you know how long I waited for him, only to see what you did?!" Victor screamed.
"I'm sorry for your uncle, but I was under orders to clear the sector so we wouldn't have any inference." Light took one last puff on her cigarette, before dropping it and stamping the ashes. "And if you're worried about any goddamn civilian deaths, I'm sure Blitz won't kill any innocents."
"If you're planning to take on the entire UNSC, you're mad." Otto for the first time sounded shaky.
"Eh that might be the case. But hey, there ain't any other shit to do, so why the hell not?" Otto and Margaret looked at each other and fired simultaneously with their battle rifles at Light. A shield made of the same material as the spear and sword materialized in front of her, and within moments she had thrown another spear conjured out of nowhere. This one was aimed to be fatal, and it found its home in Margaret's head. She dropped dead instantaneously.
Otto barely dodged another spear aimed at his head, and sprayed bullet after bullet while strafing. He slid behind a box, but was surprised as a spear cut through the box and slid into his heart.
"You crazy bitch!" Roma shouted. She pulled out her pistol and tried nailing Light in the head, but she conjured another shield. Another spear was thrown, but Roma blocked it at the cost of an arm. She left a dazed Victor on the ground before dashing into close quarters combat, hoping to avoid the barrage of spears. She pulled out a combat knife with her good hand and tried stabbing Light. The unarmored woman grabbed her hand mid-air and snapped it, before decapitating Roma with a conjured sword. Light grabbed the blood spattered sword and pointed it at Victor.
"Nothing personal kid. Alberto put up a helluva fight. I can see why he's your favorite." And with that, she planted the sword into his skull. "Goddamn do I wanna quit this job."
Victor felt a falling sensation as the sword neared his visor. When it finally made contact, a brilliant light blinded his eyes. He found himself plopped in a chair, and across from him was a girl with brilliant blue hair. She quickly ruffled through a stack of papers she had on her lap.
"Why why why why why? You weren't supposed to die until 2557! Why are you here? Now of all times?" She cried.
"Who are you?" Victor deadpanned.
"I'm the Goddess Aqua. Although you probably wouldn't know me."
(I'm planning to create another fanfic about Black Team in Konosuba, but I need to watch the anime or read the manga first, which I don't have the time for atm)
Standing over the bodies of the dead Spartan-II's, Light sat down against a nearby crate and held her hands in her head. In truth, when she had found Alberto, he was dying. Living in space is generally not that good for the human body, and he could barely stand up. He knew he was dying, so he asked to make his death quick. He also had one other wish. He wanted to give his nephew the greatest motivation possible, the death of a loved one, so he could do his best protecting humanity. He knew it was selfish in a way, but he predicted Victor would understand eventually.
She didn't want to kill the poor guy, but there wasn't really anything else she could do. She had a mission contracted to her, and her reputation was on the line to fulfill it.
"Light, I heard disturbance down in your sector. Everything good?" A speaker blared overhead.
"Yeah yeah. I have some bodies to burn. That's all." She waved at thin air. As she dragged the mangled bodies one by one to the crematorium, she noticed weird blue sparks flying off in all directions. She figured it was the armor malfunctioning, and she continued on her way.
"There's a sudden pulse of energy at your location, Light. You need to be careful." The speaker said again.
"Ok Zen. I ain't a half assed bitch you know? I'm a competent motherfucker." She finally got the last body, including the detached head, at the fiery room. However, she noticed all the other bodies were gone. Roma's body suddenly turned blazing hot, and caused Light to drop it in surprise. It flashed white and disappeared. "The hell?"
"I told you." Zen sighed. "Anyways, we need to investigate that disappearance now. I'll assign Enigma to this as she's going last on this task."
"I'm going to go take a break. I'm getting a damn headache from all this shit." Light grumbled.
"Fleet Admiral Hood! The ship just went past the highest reported slipstream speed possible and is still accelerating!" The Navy Officer was back.
"Impossible. Any faster and it'll evaporate into dust." Hood was shocked.
"Our readings are saying it'll get here in 30 seconds, max." The officer read off of his datapad.
"All the way from Madrigal to Earth in a day?" Smith asked.
"Seems like it sir."
"This is obviously some undiscovered Forerunner shit. I want all nearby ships to concentrate fire on where the ship will exit the slipstream!" Smith ordered.
"I agree with Smith." Hood said. "Ready all your guns towards the exit!"
"Aye!" The officer ran off again.
"I got a bad feeling about this, Admiral Hood." The other aid said.
"Don't we all…" Hood motioned to his aids and made for the ship's bridge.
"Hood, sir!" An officer saluted as they entered the bridge. "We have Blue Team on standby ready to hope onto Longswords down on Earth. We also have a few ODST squads led by Sargeants Pham and Buck just a few minutes out."
"Be ready to call them at a moment's notice." Hood nodded. He took his post at the head of the bridge as the unknown ship exited slipstream. One by one, each of the UNSC starships used laser guidance to aim their MACs at the target, and soon enough it was completely illuminated by red light.
"It looks like a modified Sabre prototype. We've scanned its armament, and it appears to be carrying two nuclear missiles as well as four M1024s." An intelligence officer told Hood. "However, we couldn't scan any living beings inside. The hatch of the fighter is also open."
"Wha-"
~~Admiral Hood, something is tearing through our-Argh!~~ Hood turned his head in shock, as he saw a metallic debris flying off Halcyon-class light cruiser, before it exploded into a million pieces. A flash of light jumped from the destroyed Halcyon-class and landed on the UNSC Paris. A similar streak of destruction sliced across Paris as well, and it exploded moments later.
"Zooming in...there's a person out there." The intelligence officer deadpanned.
"What?" Hood asked. The officer held out a datapad with a zoomed in picture of a rupture in Paris's hull. Hood squinted and could barely see a tiny human, zooming across the huge ship trailing arcs of lightning with what appeared to be a sword stuck in the hull. Hood's flagship shook as another ship blew up in a gout of flame.
"It seems the target is running at the same speeds as the experimental Sabre." The officer observed.
"What in God's name…" Hood stuttered. His ship rumbled again, but it wasn't due to another ship falling. Instead, the attacker had boarded his ship, and was slaughtering everyone aboard. "Send all Spartan units to dispose of the threat! We cannot let Earth be left defenseless!"
Team Beta Red were closest to the threat. They were just about to be deployed to Reach before they were called up. The intruder, wearing bright white armor accented with orange and yellow, completely tore through them using a long katana and a one-handed SMG. As the first members of Beta Red closed in on him in a long hallway, they were quickly dispatched by a burst to the head, which shattered their shields and was delivered far too quickly to be avoided.
Their team leader, Beta-Red Actual, sprayed his position with her assault rifle along with her second in command, Red-Fifteen, which he avoided using inhumane speeds, even compared to Spartan levels. He jumped into the air, and with a small explosion, dashed from wall to wall, shooting with his SMG while blocking the occasional bullet with his sword. As Beta-Red Actual and Red-Fifteen took cover behind a pair of solid steel pillars, Red-Fifteen was decapitated by a sword swing from the intruder. At essentially point blank range, 2 meters, Beta-Red Actual unloaded her mag. Of course, the bullets were blocked, and she barely dodged a sword swing which toppled the pillar behind her.
"Holy shit!" She swore as the intruder landed a few SMG bullets into her stomach. Shrugging of the pain, she pulled out a shotgun and forced him back a few feet. The SMG wasn't particularly strong, just powerful enough to punch through the shields and thin armor the visor protected, but not nearly strong enough to breach her breastplate. She thought she could slowly back up and call for more reinforcements, when a small, pointy thing thumped onto her chest. "Huh?"
She looked down to see a throwing knife embedded up to the handle. She quickly looked back up to see the person snap his fingers. She felt herself heating up, before the breastplate melted away, and her body following suit a second later. It was an incredibly gruesome death, leaving only a pile of goop on the floor, with the throwing knife being the only solid left in the mass. He picked the knife up before making his way to the reactor room.
"I bet I could get into some serious trouble here." He remarked, while casually stomping on an ODST who was guarding the entrance.
"Stay back! Or else we'll shoot! Yeah, we'll shoot you!" A private shakily yelled at him. His teammates weakly yelled in agreement.
"Look, you wanna go the hard and painful way, or the quick and easy way?" Blitz asked.
"Uhhhh…"
"Easy way it is." He shot each of them in the head, one bullet each. As their lifeless bodies flopped to the ground, Blitz pulled out a wicked looking rocket launcher he was holding on his back. He quickly aimed and shot timed explosives all across the generator. The dashed back out the hole he created and flew back into space. The ship broke apart into multiple pieces as its power was shut, and the resulting explosion blasted him towards Earth.
"Hot hot hot hot hot!" Blitz yelled as he fell to the ground. His armor shielded him from most of the heat, but it was still unbearable. He crashed onto the ground at mach speeds, creating a large crater. He sat up and found he was in his target area. Tokyo, Japan.
"Put your hands up!" Another Spartan team had located his position.
"Today's gonna be a long day, huh?" Blitz yawned.
"I said, put your goddamn hands up!" The Spartan said more forcefully.
"Alright, alright." After dropping his SMG and sword, he raised his hands. As he did so, he swiftly pulled out a shoulder-holstered pistol and shot each of the Spartans, perfect headshots again. "Hopefully the Reds and Blues will come, or else I just killed all these people for nothing."
A/N Sorry for the extremely late chapter, I had a lot of stuff from school and etc and I procrastinated a lot in general. Also, sorry for the Halo-themed chapter, instead of the usual BNHA. I needed a bit of explanation for the next few scenes, so I just stuck it in here.
