"How you doing people? This is James Edward coming to you live. I'm coming to you with the head of the latest band around: Fairy Tale! So let's say hello to Natsu Dragneel!" Everyone cheered as a guy who was only about seventeen walked out on the stage and had a seat across from James.
"Hey, James. How you doing?" Natsu said with a laugh.
"Thanks for coming out here, Natsu. I only hope the rest of the band could be here, but the producers just wanted to talk to you." James said. "They claim you're the head of the band, the leader and such. After all, you are guitarist and the lead singer."
"I wouldn't say that exactly." Natsu said. "They're not just my bandmates. These guys are my friends. I've been friends with these guys for years."
"So how did this band start in the first place?" James asked.
"I guess it all started back when our school was holding a talent show." Natsu said. "We formed our little band and performed. People thought we were so good that they wanted more and we thought it would be fun to start a band. We didn't think we would be such a big hit. We just thought it would be for fun. Things were going well and we've got people like my big brother to help us out."
"Big brother? You have a brother?" James said.
"Yeah. Zeref." Natsu said. "Zeref is a pretty smart guy and he's been a help to us before. We got other people helping us when they can like our parents...as long as we "keep up with our schoolwork." We're still in school and they said we need to keep up with school for when we have to give up the band."
"That's probably something your fans are not going to like." James said. "I do got to ask something. Fairy Tale? How did you come up with a name like that?"
"Well, each one of us have strong beliefs that some people would think is silly." Natsu said. "So that helped us come up with the name Fairy Tale. Not to be confused with Fairy Tail, like a fairy has a tail. We had didn't know how to make that worked. We considered it, but we couldn't figure out how to make it work with the band."
"Interesting. So let's talk about your actual bandmates. Which one should we start with?" James said.
"I guess that would be Gray since I've known him the longest." Natsu said as they looked to the monitor and showed images of Gray.
"Gray Fullbuster, the keytarist." James said. "He plays the keytar and sometimes takes the lead in the songs. You and he have known each other the longest."
"Yeah. Gray and I have known each other since we were like nine." Natsu said. "We get into some fights and we actually fought each other almost all the time. He's ice and I'm fire."
"Woof. That's probably not pretty." James said.
"It's fine because of Erza." Natsu said.
"Yes! That leads us to another member of your band. Erza Scarlet is the base player and she sometimes takes the lead in singing as well." James said as they showed images of Erza as well.
"Yeah. It's thanks to her Gray and I usually get along. I met her not that long really after I met Gray." Natsu said.
"So she helps you get along. Why is that?" James asked.
"It's pretty simple. She scares us." Natsu said with James having a laugh. "You don't believe me? Try getting between her and strawberry cake."
"Out of all the members that would seem scary, I figured it would be your drummer: Gajeel Redfox." James said and they started talking about him. "How did someone like him get in your band?"
"He might be a little hardheaded, but he's not that bad." Natsu said. "Gajeel did seem like a punk, but he's not really that bad. He thought he was pretty musical on the guitar and singing, but oh man. My ears still hurt thinking about that painful time. I think the only reason he's so good on drums is to get some anger out."
"He sounds like an animal." James laughed.
"He could be." Natsu said.
"That brings us to the last member of the band." James said as he moved his eyebrows around.
"What was that?" Natsu said.
"You know who I'm talking about. Your girlfriend: Lucy Heartfilia." James said.
"Girlfriend?! She's not my girlfriend!" Natsu said as he tried to laugh that off.
"But I've heard rumors that you have feelings for her or she has feelings for you." James said.
"That's all it is." Natsu said as he was acting like he was trying to hide something.
"Anyway, Lucy Heartfilia is the keyboard player of the group." James said. "Don't let the pretty looks fool you. She might look like a dumb blonde, but she's not. She's got some brains in there. All five of you seem to make a great band, but how do you keep it all together?"
"We've actually got one more member of the band that help us out. She keeps us organized." Natsu said. "Our band manager: Levy McGarden. She managed to get us a recording studio and she makes some deals. Lucy really is smart, but Levy is practically the brains. She's been a big help to us."
"Sounds like you're doing well. Your band is climbing the charts, your music is great, you've got fans that love you." James said. "It sounds like Fairy Tale is going to be around for a while. I give it about a few more years before your band breaks up like most bands. Most bands don't make it past three or four years."
"Maybe, but right now we're just having fun." Natsu said. "Fairy Tale is going to be around for a while and we're hoping there isn't going to be much chaos." Chaos? When your in a band, stuff like that tends to happen and this band is going to see that for themselves.
AN: I know this seems short, but this is just the prologue. It was just like the chapter title says: Meet the Band.
