Natsu was still fast asleep. That's how rock stars are. They rock hard, play hard, and sleep hard. However, today is going to be a special day for the band.
"Get up and get on, people!" An MC said on Natsu's clock radio to wake him up. "Today is the day for the MVAs. For those who might not know, it is a small awards ceremony held over the radio for popular music videos. It's just like any other award ceremonies."
"Oh yeah!" Natsu said as he turned on the volume on that.
"Here's a sneak peak at the song that is going to be performed by the upcoming band, who is also nominated for upcoming group: Fairy Tale!" The radio started playing one of their songs and Natsu was looking forward to this. The band was nominated for an award. Even if it's a small award show, it's a pretty good step when you're in a band.
"And we're going to win it!" Natsu said. He got up and started dancing to the song they plan on performing at the award show. As Natsu danced around, Zeref came walking in his room.
"Easy there, superstar. You do realize you haven't won the award yet." Zeref said.
"But we're going to." Natsu said as he danced his way out of the room and into the kitchen with his parents who were making breakfast.
"Someone is in a good mood." Mrs. Dragneel said.
"You know it! Fairy Tale is going to win our nomination at the MVAs." Natsu said. "Best upcoming group is in the bag."
"Easy, Natsu. You haven't won yet." Mr. Dragneel said. "It's great that you and the others are nominated, but the award radio show isn't for awhile. Not to mention you haven't even gotten ready for yet with the chance that you might not win."
"Oh please. What could go wrong?" Natsu asked.
"Don't you know you should never ask that? Are you trying to jinx yourself and the others?" Zeref questioned.
"Don't be weird. That kind of thing only works on television." Natsu said. "Now past me my breakfast so I can start by big day."
"Here it comes." Mr. Dragneel said as he about to toss a pancake over to Natsu. Natsu held out his plate and his father gave it a toss. However, it landed on his head and it was pretty hot. Natsu shook it off and his head burned from it.
"That's what you get for throwing food in my kitchen!" Mrs. Dragneel said as she smacked her husband's arm with a spatula.

Fairy Tale Stuido
Zeref gave Natsu a ride to the studio. They drove up to the studio and parked the car.
"Thanks for the ride, bro." Natsu said.
"No problem. I figured with a big moment, you might need a little help getting ready." Zeref said. "I've got to pick up my paycheck today also." The truth was that Levy actually pays Zeref to help with the band while he's taking some online college classes.
"Appreciate the help, but we got this." Natsu said as the two of them walked to the door. "What could really go wrong this time?"
"I thought I said you shouldn't say something like that." Zeref said. Natsu thought Zeref was just being silly, but Natsu opened the door and he felt the door hit something.
"Ow!" Natsu and Zeref looked and saw Erza just got hit by the door.
"Erza!" Natsu called as he and Zeref rushed to her. "Are you okay?"
"I think... Aw..." Erza said as she held her left eye. "You got me good when you opened the door."
"I am so sorry. I didn't see you." Natsu said.
"Are you gonna be okay?" Zeref asked.
"I think so." Erza said. They helped ERza through the building and met with the others. When they saw Erza holding her eye, they all began to worry.
"What happened?" Levy asked.
"I accidentally hit Erza with the door and it hit her in the eye." Natsu said.
"Let me take a look." Levy said. Erza moved her hand so Levy could get a look at her eye. "Erza, how many fingers am I holding up?"
"Three." Erza said and she was right. So her vision probably isn't all that bad. That's good to know at least.
"I think she's going to be okay. Although, it might leave a mark. It looks like she might get a black eye." Levy said.
"A black eye? I suppose it's a good thing these awards aren't televised." Gray said.
"Nice going, hotshot." Gajeel said.
"It's fine. It was an accident." Erza said. "It would be another thing if it was on purpose. It wasn't on purpose, was it?" She actually glared at Natsu and it made him nervous.
"Of course not." Natsu said. Natsu looked around and noticed someone was missing. "Where's Lucy? We need to get ready to go."
"She had a dentist appointment today." Levy said. "She said she wanted herself to look good for the awards. She should be here before we have to leave."
"She better. This is a big moment for us and all of us need to be here for it." Gray said.
"Don't worry. She'll make it." Natsu said. "What could go wrong?"
"Natsu! What do I keep saying? You shouldn't really asked that." Zeref said. "You already got a pancake land on your head and Erza has a black eye. Are you trying to jinx the band?"
"Not cool, Natsu." Gajeel said.
"Come on! Two bad incidents doesn't mean much." Natsu said.
"Yeah!" Gray said as he walked over to the instruments. "That's just superstitious nonsense. We're going to be just fine." He reached for his keytar and played a few notes, but that was when it broke apart and a few of the keys fell off. "Now that's just weird. I just got this baby fixed up and it was working perfectly fine this morning."
"That's three strikes. Third time's the charm." Zeref said. "Now are you starting to get more convinced, Natsu?"
"Maybe..." Natsu said as this was starting to look bad for him and the band. Being nominated for an award as a band was suppose to be a great moment for them. Now it looks like it's turning into a bad day. The day is not starting well, but that's not going to stop the band from having a great day. First, they need to do something about fixing Gray's instrument.
"So what's the deal?" Erza said. "Without an instrument, Gray can't perform and we can't really perform without him. Is there anyway we can do this?"
"Don't worry. I've got a couple extras." Gray said.
"Good. Where are they?" Levy said.
"In the first floor closet. I'll go and get one." Gray said as he hurried to get one.
"See? Everything is going to be just fine." Natsu said.
"Yeah. We're going to hit the awards, get our award for best upcoming band, perform, and kill it." Gajeel said as he walked over a couch that had a box on it. "It also gives me a great chance to bust out my new fedora." Gajeel opened up the box, but he screamed at what he saw.
"What's wrong?" Erza asked.
"This!" Gajeel said as he pulled out a pink fedora and small.
"Not really sure pink is your color." Natsu said.
"It's not suppose to be pink...or tiny!" Gajeel shouted. "It's suppose to be white! How could my fedora go from white to pink?! How did it get tiny?!"
"Have you never pulled the prank with a red sock in the washer with white clothes?" Natsu asked.
"Dang it!" Gajeel said. "I told my old man that I wanted to give it a cleaning for the awards ceremony! He was never really good with laundry. I can't wear this! I'll look stupid!"
"Too late." Natsu whispered with a chuckle. Suddenly, they heard some sort of crashing sound.
"Gray?!" Levy called as all of them hurried to check it out. They found Gray buried under some instruments that fell out of the closet. "Oh my gosh! Gray, are you okay?!" She asked as they helped him out of there.
"I think so." Gray said as he got back up. "I was reaching for my extra keytar, but I never realized we never really cleaned that closet. As soon as I pulled it out, the whole thing fell on me."
"Can this get any worse?!" Natsu said. Hearing him say that caused Gajeel to smack Natsu on the head.
"Never say something like that! Quit jinxing us!" Gajeel said.
"Come on. I really don't see how things could get any..." Natsu stopped talking when Gajeel put his hand over his mouth before Natsu could say anything to jinx them anymore.
"Not good." Levy said as she looked over something on her phone.
"Oh what now!" Natsu said as he pushed Gajeel's hand off.
"I just checked the latest stats for our award. We're in last place." Levy said.
"What?!" Natsu said as he took her phone right out of her hands. He looked at the stats himself and he couldn't believe this. "Darn it!" He got so mad that he tossed the phone to the floor and it broke into pieces.
"Hey!" Levy said. This is really not their day. As time went on, they have only a few hours to get ready and head for the MVAs. This day wasn't going so well, but they're trying to clean their mess. Starting with the closet as Erza, Gray, and Gajeel finished putting the instruments away.
"Let's try to avoid an instrument avalanche next time." Erza said. "How is it looking with us even getting to the awards?"
"Not good." Gray said. "Lucy isn't even here yet. How long does it take to get through the dentist?" Gray questioned.
"It's going to get even worse." Gajeel said. "Zeref and Levy are taking a look at our ride. With how today is going, they want to make sure the ride our ride is working. It better! You've got to be kidding me with all of this!"
"So it looks like there's a chance we're not even going to make it? Oh man." Gray said as they were all feeling down about this.
"How do you think I feel? Look at my eye." Erza said as she pointed to her bruised eye.
"What's going on here?" All three of them looked and saw that Lucy arrived. "Why aren't you guys getting ready for the MVAs?" They filled Lucy in on what's going on and she could see things weren't looking good. "Yikes. Sounds like you've all had a bad day. Where's Natsu?"
"Up in the rehearsal space." Erza said.

Natsu
Natsu was up in their usual spot where they practice music and was laying against the couch. He thought this was going to be good day, but it wasn't. Lucy headed up to the space and placed herself over him.
"It's not like you to be so down in the dumps." Lucy said.
"Hey! Wow! Did you really go to the dentist? You still got the same nice smile." Natsu said. Natsu sat up with Lucy sitting next to him.
"What's going on? I thought you were all excited about the MVAs." Lucy said.
"I was until this day got started." Natsu said. "I got burned by a pancake, Erza's got a black eye, Gray's instrument broke, an instrument avalanche happened, we're in last place to get the award, and Gajeel's got a tiny pink fedora. This has turned into a bad day."
"So what?" Lucy said. "So we're a little unlucky. Are you really going to let that ruin our day?" Natsu was all ears with what she was saying. "Look, people have good days and bad days. We've got good luck and we've got bad luck. That's just part of life. Don't let something like that ruined a big moment like this for us."
"But things have gone all kinds of bad." Natsu said. "We might not even make it to the awards."
"You don't know that. We could still win. We could still make it." Lucy said. "We just need to make the most of it." Natsu thought about what Lucy said and he was starting to see her point.
"Yeah. Besides, the day isn't over yet." Natsu said as he got right up.
"Exactly. We still have a chance. I think I might also have a few ideas that could help." Lucy said with Natsu feeling better about himself. "I just got a couple questions. A pancake burned you?"
"Never go near my dad during breakfast." Natsu said. So, with help from Lucy, the others were able to get themselves ready for the awards. They might be having a bad and unlucky day, but that's not going to stop them.

Levy and Zeref
"Are you sure nothing is wrong?" Levy asked as they looked over their ride for the MVAs.
"I tripled check everything." Zeref said. "Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. I just hope the others are ready to go."
"We are." Natsu said as he and the guys entered the place. "We're ready to go. We're not going to let some bad luck stop us."
"Where are the girls?" Levy asked.
"Here we are!" Erza said as she and Lucy stepped inside. "Thanks to Lucy, she made by black eye look like makeup with eyeshadow and such."
"And it's actually a good thing that Gajeel's little hat turned small and pink. Look." Lucy said. She pulled out a headband and showed the small pink hat was placed on it. Lucy placed it on her head and it actually went well with her outfit. "Cute, right?"
"So cute." Levy said.
"It looks like we're all set. So climb on in and let's get going." Zeref said. All of them loaded up their ride and hopped inside as they were getting ready to go. Zeref pulled out the gps on his phone and put in the address. "Oh no."
"What now?!" All of them said.
"There's construction on the route. We're going to have to go the long way." Zeref said.
"The long way? It's going to take us over an hour to get there." Levy said. "We need to be there in about...forty minutes."
"I can get you there in thirty." Zeref said as he started the engine.
"You're going to break traffic rules?" Natsu questioned. "Zeref, you never broke the rules in school. You were never really a bad boy. So there's no way you're going to..." Zeref took off and all of them were holding on for their lives.

MVAs
Fairy Tale was able to make it to the MVAs in time. It was impressive that Zeref was able to do that. When they got to the MVAs, their luck changed around. They all looked good and they miraculously were able to win their reward. All that was left to do was give off the performance.
"Let's give a round of applause for Fairy Tale!" The MC announced with Natsu and the others ready to perform a song about how all have one dream that could and will come true, even if you're face with difficulties and bad luck.
