Chapter 14

Happy grunted when something touching his face woke him up, he turned his head to the side before remembering yesterday's events and quickly opened his eyes. Bramty was curled up on his chest poking him in the face and giggling quietly.

He rolled his eyes before tickling her and making her squirm trying to get away from him to no avail. "Daddy!" Bramty laughed when he kept tickling her and she quickly pressed kisses to his cheek laughing louder when he finally stopped.

"We need to go get you some clothes today... is there stuff at your house that you want to bring here?" he asked

Bramty shrugged, "My box under my bed" she nodded "And my school uniform and school stuff... I still have some of the stuff that Abuela and you gave me"

"I'll see if Gemma or Tara are around today and get one of them to take you shopping for new clothes and shit you'll need. That okay?" he asked not sure how she felt about meeting other people just yet. "I think me and one of the guys will have to go and get you shit from Katherine"

Bramty nodded though and pressed another kiss to his cheek, "I love you Daddy"

Happy smiled kissing her forehead, "Love you too, baby girl"

Standing up Happy realised that he'd probably have to get either Tara or Gemma to bring clothes by for Bramty to wear before they left the room cause all she had on when he brought her here was the dress Tara got her from the hospital gift shop.

Happy shook his head with a sigh before quickly calling Bramty in sick from school today. "... Yeah, thanks. Uh, her mom and I talked and she's going to be in my care from now on... you guys need to change me from her emergency contact to her primary contact and then make her aunt the emergency number" he stated having already made himself the emergency contact a while ago.

"Did you tell them that Gemma is my emergency contact?" Bramty looked up at him when he hung up the phone and Happy nodded. He'd figured Gemma would be more likely to answer her phone than Clay or one of the guys would. "Gemma is an Old Lady?"

"Yeah" he nodded in confirmation, last night he had explained to Bramty everything about living around the MC, things she would need to know and he didn't hold back. Bramty had already known all about what he did with the club and how the other guys worked around the law. This time he was explaining exactly what sweetbutt's did and what Old Lady's do for the club.

"Do you think Gemma will like me? is she scary?" Bramty asked

Happy shrugged, if Bramty wasn't scared of him then he couldn't see her being scared of Gemma but most people around here were terrified of getting themselves on the wrong side of the Matriarch. "I suppose you'll have to meet her and find out"

Happy flipped open his phone again and dialled Gemma's number hoping she'd be able to help him this morning. "Hey Gemma"

"Happy?"

"Yeah, uh, last night I didn't think about clothes for Bramty and..."

"You need me to stop by her house?"

Happy sighed, "Nah. She doesn't have clothes there... Was hoping you'd know what to do, honestly"

Gemma chuckled, "I'll give Donna a call and send her your way with something quick and then I can take the girl out shopping to get everything she needs when I get to the clubhouse. Sound good?"

"Thanks Gemma"

"See you then"

Donna wasn't too happy about having to go over to the clubhouse but she had to admit this was a sight she had to see with her own eyes to believe. Opie had told her a few days ago when the little girl had been taken that she was Happy Lowman's kid.

That man scared the shit out of Donna and she wondered how a child would do in his care. Sighing, she got out of Opie's truck and walked across the TM lot towards the club house.

"Donna!"

She turned hearing her name and smiled a little at seeing Jax waving her over to the bar, making her way over to him her eyes widened slightly when she spotted who Jax was sitting with. Happy Lowman was sat at the bar with a little girl in his lap, both of them eating bacon off of a plate with muffins in hand, looking very much like it was a normal sight.

Jax smirked at her and nodded as she approached, the VP looked as shocked as she felt and possibly looked. "Bramty, this is Donna. Donna is Opie's Old Lady" Jax introduced

Donna smiled a little embarrassed to say she was just as intimidated by the little green eyed girl as she was Happy. "Uh, Hi. You must be Bramty... I got clothes for you"

"Cool! Do you wanna see my new room?" Bramty asked happily and slid off a smirking Happy Lowman's lap. Donna opened her mouth to reply but the little Latina girl grabbed her hand and led her away towards the dorms.

"Uh, alright" Donna breathed out more to herself then the girl. Taking a minute to study the girl, Donna realised that Bramty seemed to be adjusting to the changes made in the past few days with ease. Bramty hadn't looked uncomfortable back at the bar nor did the girl seem shy around the guys or being at the clubhouse. In fact, Donna figured that Bramty might actually like being here with the guys judging by the how happy the girl seemed.

"How old are you Bramty?" Donna wondered

"I'm 8 years old" Bramty answered while unlocked a dorm room door, one that Donna could only assume belonged to Happy. Opie had told her last night that Happy was insisting that his daughter live with him at the clubhouse for now so they could all keep an eye on the girl.

It was for Bramty's protection but from what Donna could tell, Opie was slightly worried that making Bramty stay in the clubhouse would give the girl more reason to want to stay away in the future. She could tell that Opie didn't want that to happen, her husband wanted the little girl to feel comfortable with the club and it's members... she figured his worries were stemming from their own children who had no interest in the club or it's members.

Kenny and Ellie were more like her than they are Opie. While Kenny is a younger clone of her husband the boy is more like Donna in personality and so is Ellie. Neither of their kids are made to live the outlaw life like her husband is. It made Donna wonder if Bramty was different? Would Happy's little girl love the club more than she was ever capable of doing?

With a sigh Donna shook her head at herself, she had to stop thinking about those kinds of things because it only upset her and she didn't need that right now.

"How old are you?" Bramty asked and Donna was slightly startled

She gave Bramty a small smile, "I am 35 years old" she told the girl honestly, glad for the distraction from her doubts. Following Bramty into the room Donna hung the dress she had brought on the handle of the bathroom door. "I brought you a dress because you can adjust the straps... I thought it would be the best fit since I didn't have your size"

Bramty nodded not seeming to be bothered much about what the dress looked like. The girl walked into the bathroom and Donna followed awkwardly and watched as the girl started combing her long black hair. Anyone with eyes was able to see that the little girl was adorable but that when she was older she would be a stunning woman. Bramty's long black hair framed her face and made her bright green eyes stand out against the girls flawless tan olive skin tone.

"Uh, so how have you been?" Donna asked and then cursed herself for not knowing what else to say but some stupid question.

But Bramty only smiled looking over at her while the girl pulled her hair up into two high pigtails. "I'm really good, Donna. Everything is amazing! I get to live with my Daddy now and I really like everyone here!"

Donna smiled, "You lived with your mom before?" she asked and Bramty nodded. "Are you going to have visitations with your mom?"

"No" Bramty shook her head, a gesture that seemed much more grown up than what Donna had ever seen from a child before. "Daddy says that I don't have to see her ever again"

Frowning slightly Donna asked, "You don't want to see your mom again then?"

"I don't ever want to see her again and I'm happy that Daddy is going to make sure she stays away from me" Bramty answered while looking in the mirror and smoothing out her pigtails.

"You do your hair really well" Donna smiled at Bramty who beamed back up at her at the compliment.

"Thanks!" Bramty nodded walking over to the clothes bin and taking off her dress, Donna looked away to give the child some privacy not that Bramty seemed to care anyway. "You're so pretty Donna! I saw those other girls this morning, the croweater's, and their not as pretty as you are"

A pink blush rose on Donna's cheeks as she stared at the floor while Bramty put on the dress she had brought over on. It had been a long time since someone had called her pretty and Donna couldn't quite believe that this girl thought she was prettier than the croweater's. While Donna knew Opie didn't mess around on her, it didn't mean she didn't know that he was surrounded by more beautiful women all day.

"I- Uh, well, I don't know about that" Donna stuttered a little, "But thanks"

Bramty was in front of as soon as the words left Donna's mouth. Donne looked at the girl who frowned a little, "It's true. I know it. My mother was like the croweater's and sweetbutt's and I know a pretty person when I see one Donna"

The blush on Donna's cheeks only reddened further at the seriousness on Bramty's face. She nodded accepting the compliment with a small smile. "thanks" she said and Bramty nodded returning the smile.

"C'mon or Daddy will eat off the bacon" Bramty told her looking like she really didn't want her father to take the last of the bacon and Donna chuckled following Bramty out of the dorms and back to the bar.

Passing a near naked sweetbutt in the hallway the bitch chuckled when she spotted Donna, "Look who's here trying to keep her Old Man interested"

"Shut up bitch" Bramty growled before Donna could say anything for herself, the words took both Donna and the sweetbutt by surprise. Opie was too loyal of a man to cheat on her, once he considered you important to him that was that. She knew the sweetbutt's wanted to get in her head so she would have more doubts, they also wanted to know if she would fight back but Donna had never been much for confrontations.

"Who the hell are you kid?" the bitch hissed at Bramty

"None of your fucking business bitch. You can't talk to Donna like that, she's an Old Lady who gets respect and you're a used up gash for the guys to stick their dicks in when they're drunk enough to make you look half attractive for the 30 minutes it takes to get them off" Bramty retorted shoving the stunned and angry sweetbutt out of their way from where the bitch was blocking the hallway.

Donna was frozen in her spot until Bramty grabbed her hand again and pulled her out of the hallway back to the bar.

"You okay?" Jax asked when he spotted them and Donna nodded slowly, still unsure about what just happened. Bramty had defended her? And Bramty had looked just as scary as her father while doing it!

Donna watched blushing a new shade of red as Bramty let go of her hand and skipped over to Happy. Happy lifted Bramty up onto his lap and the two started talking with Bobby and Chibs.

"Donna?" she looked back at Jax who was now frowning at her in concern.

"Oh" she let out a small chuckle, "Uh, I'm fine... I just realised that while Bramty may be an adorable kid she is her fathers daughter" Jax raised a brow at that and Donna shrugged, "I'm just saying I think I want to be on Bramty's bad side as much as I want to be on Happy's"

"Something happen?" Jax asked just as the sweetbutt from before walked past them, a pout on the bitches face as she looked over in Bramty's direction. Donna knew Jax had followed where she was looking and they both saw the gash's eyes widen.

Donna couldn't hold back a small laugh when Bramty looked up and spotted the bitch, a mean glare instantly on the little girls face. Bramty's eyes followed the now nervous sweetbutt from before as the woman made a quick exit.

Jax turned back to look at her with an amused and curious look on his face, "Bramty had a run in with the gash?"

Donna nodded, "Yeah and the girl won that one easily... like I said; Bramty is certainly her fathers daughter"

"Guess the Lowman's have a mean streak" Jax chuckled and Donna kissed his cheek before walking out of the clubhouse.

Her husband's worry about Bramty hating the club wasn't necessary, Donna recognised a SAMCRO woman when she saw one and that little girl was going to be best friends with Gemma in no time.

Gemma shut the car off and got out meeting Bramty on the side walk next to the car. They were out shopping for clothes and other things the little girl would need. Gemma didn't exactly know if she liked the girl yet, having only spent 5 minutes with her so far, but from what she'd heard this morning from the guys this kid didn't act like kids normally do.

In fact, Clay said that he felt like Bramty was made for the outlaw life and Gemma had been more than surprised to hear her old man say that. Especially when Clay had been worried Happy living with his kid would soften the killer... apparently that wasn't the case.

"So? where are all your clothes?" Gemma asked Bramty who's cute pigtails swished when she turned to look up at her.

"Daddy said that the only appropriate clothing I had was my school uniform and I only had a few outfits that weren't work clothes" the girl answered but Gemma frowned. What the hell did a kid have work clothes for?

"What do you mean work clothes?" She asked watching Bramty carefully.

"Daddy said I never have to do that again" Bramty looked up at her, eyes narrowed in Gemma's direction. "I don't want to do that again"

A sinking feeling in her gut made Gemma realise she needed to ask Clay or Happy what the hell happened to that girl. She didn't like the way any of this was sounding. "What kind of things do you want to get?" Gemma asked instead, returning to the casual conversation.

"Cowboy boots"

Gemma smirked looking back down at the green eyed girl, "You want cowboy boots?" Gemma asked making sure she'd heard right and Bramty smiled and nodded. Gemma chuckled, "What about boots like mine?" she looked down at her knee high black heeled boots.

"I like those too" Bramty nodded eagerly

Gemma smiled widely, "Oh I think we're going to be best friends" the girl practically beamed and grabbed her hand as they walked through the store.

Gemma had always wanted a daughter but was blessed with a son instead. Maybe Bramty would be her second chance? Daughter with all the perks and none of the drama and arguments? Gemma smirked, "This is going to be fun"

They walked into the first store and Gemma was reminded of why mothers always go on shopping spree's when it comes to small kids clothes - their just so darn adorable! There's more cute options for kids than there are for grown ass women.

Looking at the cart of clothing Gemma chuckled to herself as they pushed it towards the changing rooms. She was gonna have to split the bill between Happy and Clay cause this shit was gonna be expensive since everything just seemed to look so good on the little girl. They even picked a few things that were a little too big because Gemma seriously doubted that Happy would known when Bramty needed longer jeans or new shoes.

As much as the man may love his daughter, he wasn't gonna turn into a fashion extraordinaire for her!

By the time they finished shopping and loaded the bags into the car Gemma was exhausted but practically fully bonded with the amazing little girl beside her. She'd quickly realised that Bramty was quite the character and practically impossible to dislike.

A fact which fuelled her spending.

Gemma doubted Happy would pay that much attention to how well the girl fit in her clothes right now. Maybe in a few years when it was boobs or ass on display, but right now she didn't think the killer would object to anything the girl wanted to wear and Gemma had taken full advantage turning Bramty into a little biker princess.

The only thing that had made this better was the fact Bramty absolutely loved every second of it. Bramty in no way objected to the more 'biker' like clothing style and in fact had chosen several items on her own that had Gemma been able to fit into, she would have worn herself. Girl's got some serious style!

Oh this was going to be fun!

Happy sat at the bar drinking with Tig when Bramty walked in the room earning hoots from Bobby and Chibs. "Daddy! Look at my shoes!"

Happy turned seeing Bramty in jeans, a Black top and bright fucking red cow boy boots. Bramty climbed up in his lap smiling and kissed his cheek.

"Nice shoes" he nodded approvingly and she beamed up at him. He didn't really think cowboy boots were Gemma's choice and figured it must have been one of the things Bramty insisted on getting.

Sometimes his baby girl was random like that.

"I'm jealous" Tig laughed "Need me some cowboy boots like those"

"You can't" Bramty sighed sadly and both Tig and Happy raised a brow at her, "The man in the store had cowboy boots on and I wanted Daddy to match me but Gemma said that men don't wear cowboy boots... was that the truth Daddy?"

Happy chuckled and Tig barked out laughter, "Oh I like your kid man. She's funny"

"She asked the man at the register why he looked like a man if he was a girl" Gemma groaned as she walked through the door obviously having heard that conversation which only made Tig laugh harder.

"Dad guess what?"

Happy smiled down at Bramty who was curling herself into his chest sleepily, "What?" he asked

"Gemma said we are going to be best friends" she mumbled closing her eyes tiredly as she held onto him.

Happy smirked over at Gemma who looked like she just wanted to pinch both of Bramty's cheeks in pure excitement. "You sleepy?" he asked

"Nu-uh" Bramty shook her head denying it like she always does, "I'm not! I'm just closing my eyes to blink cause... cause... well, because I can" she mumbled defensively trying to fight sleep.

Happy laughed, "Okay then" He relented easily with a smirk as he watched her slow droopy eyes blink as she tried to make them stay open. It didn't take more than a couple minutes before she was sleeping quietly in his arms and he stood carrying her up to his dorm room.

He liked seeing Bramty interacting with his brothers and Gemma, they're his family and he wanted his daughter in his life. Happy kissed Bramty's forehead setting her in bed before climbing in himself, he could use a nap too.

Happy found himself a little relieved that Gemma and Bramty got along so well, he knew that Bramty would need a strong female in her life and Gemma looked like she was it. As nice as Tara and Donna are, Happy doubted they would be the ones who were firm enough with Bramty to not just let her do whatever she wanted to.

Bramty wasn't used to being told what to do by anyone, living with Katherine he had known she looked after herself most of the time. It had taken her a little while to be fully okay with him telling her not to do something but the more she realised he wasn't going to leave her, the more okay with it she had become.

Happy figured it was then that she started seeing him as her father and not just her friend; Or at least that was what his mom had said to him.

Right now Bramty took orders and instructions from him without hesitation but it would be interesting to see how long it takes her to warm up to others around here. His baby girl seemed to fit right in with his crazy family as if she had been here the whole time.

But Happy knew that Bramty needed a woman to help guide her in ways he wasn't going to be able to. Someone to be just as firm as he was with her and Gemma seemed like the only Old Lady around here who could do that.

"Tiggy?"

Tig looked down a little surprised to hear someone calling him Tiggy but smiled when he realised it was Bramty. He wasn't much of a kid person - having failed both his daughters who wanted nothing to do with him - but he liked Bramty. "How you doin' doll?"

Bramty giggled and climbed up onto the bar stool next to him only struggling a little, since the stool was the same height as her. "Daddy is doing a job for Clay" she told him

Tig nodded having already known that because Happy had asked him to keep an eye on Bramty while he was gone. "You get to hang out with Uncle Tiggy" he smirked, "ain't you lucky"

Bramty smiled up at him brightly and Tig couldn't help but return it. He didn't know how to act around kids. Jax's boy wasn't around that often now, Opie's kids didn't really care about the club and he had been in prison when his twins were born. Leaving him with virtually no experience around kids.

Dawn and Fawn were 2 when he got out and it hadn't yet taken him long to get arrested again making the girls 5 before he really spent more than an hour with them. Even at 5 his girls hadn't wanted anything to do with him and soon after that Colleen took off out of town. Tig had fought to see them at first and they were sent to Charming for a summer when they were 10 but they avoided him like the plague.

"Tiggy?!" Bramty called snapping him out of his thoughts, Tig sighed realising Bramty must have been trying a few times to get his attention but he had been too caught up in his head.

Bramty looked at him for a minute in the tense silence before sighing and looking down at her lap. Tig wasn't sure what to do and he didn't know if he had upset her but he really hoped he hadn't. "Bramty?"

Bramty looked up at him with a sad smile on her face, "I'll leave you alone" she told him and jumped off the stool before going back up towards the dorms.

"Awe shit" Tig sighed, he hadn't meant to brush her off like that. Especially after she looked a little worried about him but he didn't know what to say to her.

Downing the last of his beer he decided he wasn't gonna be a pussy and got up making his way to Hap's room. Tig didn't have to knock on the door because it was open and Bramty was sitting on the bed colouring alone.

He felt like shit seeing her sitting up here alone again. It was probably hard for her to be in a new place with all new people and no other kids to play with. "Hey doll?" He asked walking in the room

"Hi Tig" Bramty smiled at him as he sat on the bed at the opposite end her.

"Wanna do something fun? We could go get some candy from the store?" He offered and she looked up at him nodding and smiling brightly.

"Cool!"

Tig smirked and scooped the girl up off the bed not sure if she wanted to be carried or not but Bramty didn't protest. The girl wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her out to the the parking lot and towards his bike. "You have been on a bike before right?"

"Yeah Daddy doesn't have a cage unless we're at Abuela's house" Tig nodded handing her a helmet and mounted his bike, slightly impressed when Bramty got on without help. Peeling out of the lot Tig headed for the local shops.

When they dismounted the bike Tig was momentarily surprised when Bramty grabbed his hand and walked by his side. As odd as Interacting with a kid was for him, he found it easy with Bramty. She didn't cry or pout about anything, even him being an asshole only a few minutes ago. Bramty just seemed to go with the flow and it made him relax a little and realise he kinda liked the girl.

"What candy do you want?" Tig asked walking them into a candy isle. His eyes lit up at the candy selections in what he could only assume looked a lot like Bramty's did, when she saw the candy herself. Tig always felt like a kid on Christmas day when it came to candy and he couldn't help but laugh at seeing the same reaction on Bramty's face.

"Reece" she told him and Tig smiled widely nodding his agreement.

"Here's an important lesson for you Kiddo" Tig told her, a serious look on his face as she turned to face him listening. "You can't ever trust anyone who doesn't pick good candy" he smirked

Bramty giggled and nodded, "Or meat"

Tig quirked a brow but chuckled anyway, "Yeah. You can't trust a person who doesn't like the good candy and you can't trust a person who doesn't like meat"
