Chapter 16
Tara dropped Abel off with Neeta and smiled down at Bramty who was sitting at the kitchen table in her and Jax's house. She knew Jax had said to stay out of it and that it wasn't her place to get involved but she couldn't help but worry. Working as a doctor, a children's doctor no less, she saw children everyday come in with mental and physical injuries.
There was no way an 8 year old girl wasn't suffering trying to understand and process what had happened to her all by herself, since her father didn't seem to be talking about it.
It always broke Tara's heart seeing them at the point where they were just a shell of the child they used to be and she didn't want to see that happen to Bramty. The little girl that came into their lives only two months ago was hard not to love. Bramty may be small, but her personality is ten times her size and Tara just couldn't help but love Bramty for it.
Already Bramty has hard ass outlaw bikers wrapped around her little fingers and the girl doesn't even know it yet.
That's why Tara knew she had to be the one to look out for this little girls best interests. It was clear that none of the men in her life were going to be able to see things clearly. Bramty's welfare is supposed to come before all else and in a clubhouse with men who's priority if always the club first, the little girl wouldn't be getting that.
Bramty needs a home not a boys club.
"Okay, come on Bramty" Tara called out as she opened the door for her and Bramty to leave. Tara had booked an appointment with one of her colleges, a child psychologist for Bramty to go talk to today. Tara was just hoping it would help the girl and she would keep it a secret because if Happy got pissed about this Tara knew she'd be in deep shit.
And being on the Sons killer's bad side, wasn't a place she was interested in being.
That's not even considering how badly the other members of the club would react if they found out her doctor friend was assessing Bramty's mental state to be in the care of her father!
Not that anything would happen as a result, it was just so Tara could have a professions opinion to take to Jax and Happy backing her up. Bramty's cooperation would also be a big help in making sure the girl gets what she needs to move on in life.
The drive to the hospital wasn't far and Bramty had yet to even bother asking where they were going. "Alright lets go inside" Tara announced as she pulled off her own seatbelt and got out holding Bramty's door open for her to get as well.
"This is the hospital" Bramty announced with a frown as Tara took Bramty's hand and led her into the building. "Is someone hurt, tia Tara?"
"Tia Tara?" Tara frowned in confusion as she looked down at the girl
Bramty smiled and nodded, "It means auntie in Spanish... mi Abuela taught me" she explained and Tara couldn't help but smile brightly at the name. She loved the little girl as family already and Tara was more than glad Bramty loved her back just as much.
As much as Tara loved Abel and Jax, she found herself constantly surrounded by men and it's refreshing to have female company. Someone who won't judge her for the people she calls family, someone who isn't trying to undermine her and Jax's relationship. Every time she hung out with Bramty it was always fun and jokes for a change... maybe even a little talk about makeup and hair!
"The hospital isn't always for sick or hurt people. I work here and sometimes people come in just to talk to us" Tara informed the Latina girl as they opened the doors to the psychologist wing.
Bramty nodded taking a seat in the waiting room right next to where Tara had sat down. The little girl pointed to the word 'psychologist' written on the large wall in block letters. "What does that say Tara?"
Tara smiled, "Psychologist"
Bramty frowned sounding the word out herself, "Sigh-coller-gist" then nodded to herself when it sounded the same as what Tara had just told her making the women smiled.
Bramty may be smart for a 4th grader but psychologist wasn't a word someone that young would come across regularly.
"Bramty Lowman" the receptionist called and Bramty stood up excited at her name being called. Though Tara had a feeling that excitement would be short lived.
Mia Griffith opened her office door nodding for the both of them to follow her in and Tara took Bramty's hand leading the girl into the therapists room, shutting the door behind them.
"Sit down Bramty" Tara instructed and Bramty sat down on a blue chair that was shaped like a giant hand.
"It's a hand Tara" Bramty giggled and Tara smiled nodding at the girl as she took her own seat.
"Hi sweetie" Mia started getting Bramty's attention. "My names Mia and what's your name?"
"My names Bramty Lowman"
Mia smiled and nodded, "And who's with you today?"
Bramty looked over at her before saying, "Ella llamo es mi Tia Tara"
Mia nodded even though Tara knew the women didn't speak Spanish either but Bramty didn't seem to realise that yet. Probably because Bramty was still learning the language and hadn't realised not all adults had done the same as kids.
"Bramty, today we're going to do some talking okay?" Mia asked and Bramty nodded smiling. "Good. We can talk about anything you want to and guess what?"
"What?"
Mia smiled leaning forward and whispering loud enough that Bramty could hear from her chair, "It all stays a secret between me and you. Nobody else will know what you tell me and I will only tell them if you say I can... does that sound good?"
Bramty nodded slowly and frowned a little looking confused, "Why are we telling secrets?"
Mia smiled unfazed by the suspicion in Bramty's voice, "Because it's nice to not be the only one to hold onto a secret. It doesn't have to be secrets though. You can tell me about yourself, your family, how you feel about things... anything you want"
Bramty nodded but didn't say anything more
Mia continued smiling and turned to Tara, "Tara is going to go and wait outside while we talk" Tara nodded standing up and walking out of the room praying like hell Mia was able to help with this.
Bramty didn't need to be brought into the outlaw world!
Bramty frowned when Tara left the room, "Why did Tara have to go?"
Mia wasn't new to that question, in fact, it was the first reaction of a lot of kids when they don't trust the person they're being left alone with. "Because you can tell me stuff that you might not want Tara to know". Mia watched the little girls reactions carefully as she started with simple questions. "How old are you?"
"8" Bramty answered shortly and Mia knew she was wearing on the girls patience right now.
"Bramty, where are you living?" Mia asked carefully, of course she knew that the little girl's father was a Son and that anything the child said couldn't be reported to authorities but Tara had come to her trying to see if they needed to have the girl removed from her fathers care.
"With my daddy"
She nodded, "Where's you mom?"
Bramty sighed, "I don't know"
Mia nodded sensing the girl wasn't too comfortable with talking in general about issues in her life. Luckily Tara had given her the run down on Bramty's history. "Do you remember your mom?" she asked
Bramty frowned deeper and Mia knew she was upsetting the girl but sometimes that's what it took to get them talking.
"Why do you want to know that?" Bramty asked with narrowed eyes surprising Mia at the very grown up gesture.
Mia sighed, "Bramty keeping all your thoughts and feelings to yourself isn't good for you. It helps talking to someone else about it and I'm not allowed to tell anyone anything so it'll only be between me and you"
Bramty shook her head, "But I don't want to talk about anything" the little girl argued.
Mia nodded sympathetically, "I understand it's hard and it hurts. People are worried about you and I'm worried that things that have happened will keep hurting for the rest of your life if you don't talk about it. Do you know why Tara had me talk to you?"
Bramty's eyes were still narrowed suspicious at Mia but the girl shook hr head, "No"
"Tara brought you to me because she's worried that having you keep living with your father isn't a stable enough environment for you to deal with these feelings on your own. We can talk about those feelings so you can stay with him. I think that-"
"I love my Daddy"
Mia nodded not doubting the girl didn't love her father but that might just be the problem. "Yes, I know you do. But sometimes we love people who don't help us and then-"
"I don't want to leave my Daddy!" Bramty yelled
Mia sighed again, this girl was clearly very smart to have picked out what her carefully phrased words really meant. "That's why Tara brought you here to deal with your emotions so that you can stay with your Dad. Maybe we coud talk about why you can't go back to living with your mom? I-"
"I want to go home!" Bramty said shaking her head and jumping off the chair before running over to the office door and opening it, walking out into the waiting room. "I want to go home!"
Tara stood looking down at Bramty's clearly upset face and nodded knowing she couldn't force the girl to talk and it clearly hadn't been going well since they'd only been in there for 10 minutes. "Okay" Tara relented slipping her hand into Bramty's flailing one but the girl yanked it away and glared up at her.
Tara swallowed a lump in her throat, Bramty's glare was sure as hell just as scary as Happy's! Only difference is, Tara knew Bramty couldn't actually kill her, though she suddenly doubted the girl wouldn't try.
They walked in silence back to the car and Bramty got in the backseat still glaring. Tara felt Bramty's eyes on her the whole way back to the clubhouse. "Bramty. I didn't mean to upset you sweetie... I don't know what Mia said to you but I know that we were both only trying to help you"
As soon as the car was parked Tara watched Bramty fly out of the car and run into the clubhouse with teary eyes and she felt like a piece of shit for making that beautiful girl so upset.
Kozik caught Bramty by the waist lifting her up into his arms right before she ran straight into a fight between Gemma and one of the Croweater's. He'd hardly got any time to spend with the little girl since she got here and he wanted to get to know Happy's kid.
He frowned when she sniffled in his arms, "Where's Daddy?!"
"Uh, I don't know let's go find him" Kozik said and Bramty nodded before clinging onto him tightly and Kozik wondered what had happened to make her so upset. "Hey, what's wrong Bramty?" The little girl only held him tighter in response and Kozik frowned deeper, he didn't know what had happened but he didn't think that was a normal reaction for a kid who was upset over something simple.
They found Happy with Tig at the pool table and Kozik watched Happy frown when he spotted them walking over, Happy immediately seeing something was wrong. Kozik shook his head at Happy letting his brother know he didn't know what was wrong.
"Bramty?" Happy asked and the girl looked up with tears in her eyes before reaching out for her father.
Happy took her from Kozik who walked over to where Tig was standing watching the two just as concerned. That girl hadn't cried when she was in the hospital, or when she told them all about being kidnapped but now she was crying and was freaking more than just Kozik out.
"What happened?" Tig asked frowning
Kozik shrugged, "I was standing near the Clubhouse doors when I spotted her running inside. Picked her up before she could get in the way of Gem and a crow fighting but she was already upset. She didn't say anything but that she wanted Happy, man"
Happy sat down on one of the stools at the bar while Bramty clung tightly to him. The girl had yet to say a word and some of the others were starting to notice the odd behaviour.
Chibs frowned walking over, "Sometin' wrong with' de little lassie?"
Kozik nodded, "She hasn't said a word yet. Just won't let go of him" he told the Scotsman having stood next to Tig watching Happy comfort his kid for the past half an hour.
"Did yer ask Tara if sometin' 'appened?" Chibs asked and both he and Tig shook their heads. Neither of them had known Tara was the one watching Bramty but Jax's Old Lady hadn't come in the clubhouse with Bramty.
"I'll ask Jax" Tig nodded to Chibs and then headed towards the bar to talk to Jax while Chibs stood next to Kozik and now Bobby, all waiting to see what Bramty said when she calmed down.
"Bramty" Happy rasped pulling the girl from where she was clinging to his neck so he could look at her. "What's wrong baby girl? You gotta tell me so I can fix it"
Bramty nodded, her eyes still watery although she was yet to let a tear escape. "I want to stay with you. I want to live at the clubhouse and I don't to go back to Katherine! You said nobody could take me away!"
Happy frowned deeply when tears started flowing down her cheeks but she didn't sob, only allowing them to stream silently down her face when she wasn't able to blink them back anymore. "Your not going back to Katherine. Your staying here with me... why are worrying about that shit? I told you that your staying with me when you got here"
Bramty wiped at her face, "You promise she can't take me away Daddy? Promise? I don't want to leave"
"Ain't nobody taking you away from me" Happy comforted his crying daughter frowning over at Kozik who looked just as shocked as he was at Bramty's words. "Baby girl, who the fuck were you talking to?"
Bramty wiped away the fresh tears again, "Tara said we were just going to hang out, us girls, without Abel but we didn't" her little pigtails swished back and forth as she shook her head. "We went to the hospital and Tara's friend was there. Tara told me I had to talk to that lady and she said that her and Tara talked about me and that if I didn't tell her my secrets and my feelings then I wouldn't be able to stay with you"
"What the fuck is this shit?" Happy barked out looking at the guys who were all fuming at hearing what had Bramty so upset. "Where the fuck is Jax and Tara?"
Happy was ready to kill, he knew though that he wasn't allowed to kill his VP or his VP's Old lady. Bobby had managed to get Bramty to calm down more with some chocolate milk and muffins so that she was able to explain to them more of what happened.
It sounded like Tara had taken Bramty to a therapist who was trying to figure out if Bramty's living conditions were stable.
That had everyone pissed the fuck off and it wasn't helping that Jax and Tara were both missing from the clubhouse. Clay had sighed and told Happy that he was going to call in his step-son and daughter-in-law for a chat as long as Happy promised that he didn't do anything but use his words.
Jax stormed into the clubhouse with Abel in his arms looking seriously pissed off. Happy watched Jax walk up to him and the other guys who were all sitting around in the bar having thrown out anyone not family for the moment.
"Brother I didn't know. I fucking told her to mind her own business days ago. Tara was supposed to be watching Abel and Bramty and letting Neeta go home... I didn't know brother, wouldn't have let that shit happen if I did" Jax said with a sigh before letting Abel go and then ducking to look at Bramty. "Hey kiddo. I'm real sorry for today... nobody's gonna take you away from your dad and we're all going to make sure that never happens"
Bramty stared at him before silently nodding and Jax sighed walking away to get a beer at the bar just as Tara slowly walked in the clubhouse. Tara approached the angry men looking like she genuinely feared for her life right now. Good, Happy thought.
Bitch should be scared out of her mind!
"I didn't mean for her to be so upset" Tara sighed shuffling from foot to foot awkwardly. "I don't know what Mia said to her because I wasn't in the room... but, I figured since she said she didn't talk to anyone about those years of trauma that she needed a therapist. The mind can close off to some of those things and not let you remember them... all it takes is one trigger to-"
Bramty shook her head, "I don't understand"
Tara sighed, "The brain makes you forget bad things that happened-"
"But I didn't forget anything" Bramty frowned confused, before looking to Happy for an explanation but Happy was just as lost as her in Tara's reasoning. "I don't understand Daddy"
Happy nodded, "I don't know what the fuck you were trying to do but she doesn't have any problems remembering what happened"
Tara looked surprised and angry, "Well then someone needs to talk her through it! She can't keep 8 years of being molested and raped to herself! This is probably worse then if her mind blocked it out!"
Happy didn't know what to do now. Bramty hadn't wanted the guys to know what had happened to her and he, Kozik and Tig had respected that but now Tara and her big mouth had announced it to them all. He didn't know how Bramty was going to react to that and he also didn't know if Tara was right about what she was saying or not.
Happy looked Tig who was standing beside him at a loss for what to do.
Tig was silently fuming as he glared at Tara but everyone else's attention was on Bramty in shock from finding out what her mother had done to her. The club knew about the kidnapping and what happened then but not about what happened before that.
Bramty sniffled, "I don't want to talk about it Daddy" she vehemently shook her head. "It's not going to happen ever again so I don't want to talk about it again, Daddy please"
Happy nodded looking at Tara, "She doesn't want to talk about it doc and I'm not gonna make her re-live it when she doesn't want to. I can handle my daughter and I don't need you going behind my back doing shit. You should have asked me first"
"I know" Tara sighed nodding "But I was just trying to help"
"Look, no offence doc, but she doesn't want it. When my kid is ready to talk about it in more detail then she'll come to me or someone else on her terms. Forcing her into talking by letting her think she'd get sent back to the home all that shit happened in, sure as fuck didn't do shit to help her" He rasped glaring at Tara who nodded looking apologetically at Bramty.
It was obvious that wasn't what Tara had thought the therapist would say to try and get Bramty to talk. But all of this could have been avoided if Tara had minded her own business. Instead she lied and snuck around behind his back and that shit wasn't okay. Not with his kid.
"I'm so sorry Bramty" Tara apologised
Bramty's face was blank though and she wriggled in Happy's arms until he put her down on the floor again. Happy would have laughed if this was a different situation. Bramty got up and walked out of the room towards the kitchen without sparing Tara a second glance and he knew it meant Bramty had decided that Tara didn't matter to her.
He almost felt bad for the woman, but when he thought about the shit Tara had made his baby girl re-live today he couldn't find it in him to feel bad anymore.
Tara looked at him confused and Happy sighed, "I don't know how long that shit will last but Bramty ain't gonna talk to you until she's ready. Kid's got a mean cold shoulder and she's not very forgiving but she doesn't hate you... if she hated you and you would know it"
Happy shook his head and followed after his daughter into the kitchen finding her struggling to open a soda can. "Hey baby girl let me help you" he smiled kissing Bramty's forehead as he took the can from her and opened it before handing it back.
"Thanks daddy" Bramty smiled brightly at him taking a sip of the root beer soda
" 'S all good baby girl... you okay now?" Happy asked watching her carefully and Bramty nodded. Happy rolled his eyes playfully at her making the little girl grin at him, "Don't be mean to Tara okay? Don't have to like her but you can't be mean to an Old Lady"
Bramty nodded "I don't like her anymore but I won't be a meanie to her daddy... can someone else take me to school from now on?"
Happy sighed, "Half-Sack" he called to the prospect who was in the pantry room and the prospect stuck out his head when he heard his name. "Can you take my kid to school in the mornings?"
"Uh" Half-Sack nodded with a small smile at Bramty "Sure Happy. That's cool. I can take the van... what time does she need to leave here by?" Happy didn't know if Half-Sack really felt as okay about the task as he was sounding but Happy was amused knowing the kid knew better than to question it.
Happy smirked, "8:40 and you need to be outside of the car so she can see you at 2:40 to pick her up. I don't care what your doing around here, you drop everything and let one of us know because if your late even once then you'll be no-sack. Understood?"
Half-Sack nodded quickly and Happy smirked at Bramty when she stifled her small giggle. For some reason she always thought it was funny when people got scared of him since she didn't see him as scary. Despite Bramty having seen him kill and attack people before.
Bramty knew and understood what he could do but in her eyes none of it was scary.

Tig couldn't help but laugh at Jax's uptight doctor bitch, she'd obviously thought that Bramty would get over what happened yesterday and now Tara was clearly seeing that wasn't the case. Happy hadn't been kidding when he said that Bramty gave one mean cold shoulder.
As soon as Tara had arrived at the clubhouse Happy had given Bramty a pointed look and told her not to be a bitch to Tara. Bramty had rolled her eyes and told Happy not to worry. Something which everyone could tell didn't exactly comfort the killer, though none of them had expected a little girl like her was even capable of being a bitch.
Boy did she prove them wrong.
Bramty had spent an hour talking and chatting with a few of the guys not once acknowledging Tara's existence. Tig had thought it was funny when the doctor tried talking to the 8 year old when Bramty had been seated on Clay's lap picking off the olives from the President's scrambled eggs.
"Hey sweetie" Tara smiled at Bramty who had a bored look on her face when Tara sat down. Clay gave his daughter-in-law a warning look. Everyone had already become protective of Hap's little girl and it only intensified when they'd found out about her abuse.
"Uh, Bramty-" Tara had tried and stopped when the little girl huffed and handed Clay his plate before getting up and walking over to Opie.
Jax walked in and pulled Tara up and over to the table he had been sitting at with Abel who was making a mess eating his breakfast. But the doctor bitch hadn't been able to let it go and tried to bring both Abel and Bramty lunches.
"Got some already" was Bramty's dull response to Tara bringing over a brown paper bag of lunch. The doctor nodded and sulked over at the bar while Bramty made her rounds through the clubhouse giving a warm hug and a kiss goodbye to all the members.
"You ready to go?" Tara asked at the door of the clubhouse
"Kip's taking me" Bramty shrugged grabbing her school bag and walking into the kitchen where they all knew Half-Sack was.
Tara turned to Happy frowning, "Are you sure you don't want me to take her with us?"
Happy sighed, "Bramty doesn't do shit she doesn't want to do, Tara and she does not want to be taken to school by you. Look, I don't know what you want me to do here Tara"
Tara huffed, "Talk to your kid! She's sulking over someone trying to help her and I already said I was sorry! This isn't how you deal with your issues and if that kid stays here like this then she's gonna be so fucked up in the head-"
"TARA!" Jax's voice boomed louder than they had ever heard the VP before. Everyone looked across the room to where Jax was holding Bramty on his hip with Half-Sack standing awkwardly beside them. "Take Abel to school" Jax instructed
"I am so sorry. I didn't think you would hear any of that" Tara ignored her Old Man and walked closer to Jax who was holding Bramty. Jax looked more pissed off than any of them had seen him in a long time but the glare on Bramty's face was scarier than Jax's.
Tara faltered when those big green eyes landed on her in a glare that could only be described a pure hatred. Bramty's emerald green eyes always unnerved people making you feel like she could see right through to your deepest darkest secrets and apparently her glare was just as unnerving. Nobody had any doubt that when she was older it would be fucking terrifying.
"Bramty-"
"Leave me alone Tara" Bramty sneered in a low growl
"Hey-"
"I said. Leave. me. alone." Bramty repeated as Jax set her down again, shooting Happy an apologetic look. Half-Sack let Bramty take his hand and they started walking outside when Tara followed with Abel.
"Bramty Lowman" Tara's voice commanded the girl to stop and maybe if Bramty had been any regular kid she would have. Instead the whole clubhouse watched in silence as Bramty turned to look at Tara over her shoulder glaring and flipped the woman off before dragging the prospect to the van to take her to school.
"ABEL is going to be late Tara" Jax hissed at his wife and when she made no move to leave Jax yelled, "FUCKING NOW TARA" and the woman scurried off out of the clubhouse to her car to take Jax's kid to school too.
Jax sat down rubbing the back of his head, "Fuck Hap I'm sorry man. I'll deal with this tonight. Fuck"
"You need to fucking control your Old Lady Jax because I'm not gonna let it slide next time no matter who her Old Man is. I could kill that woman and your fucking lucky I haven't yet. She doesn't even look in Bramty's direction, Jax" Happy warned before storming out of the bar and up to his room.
Tig shook his head, "Was anyone else a little afraid Bramty was gonna murder Tara or was that just me?" a few of the guys laughed though none of them disagreed.
It really did look like if Tara had pushed further, getting flipped off would be the last of the doctors worries.
"SHE WHAT?!" Happy grunted into the burner phone startling a few of the guys around the garage before harshly hanging up and stalking over towards his bike not even noticing that both Tig and Chibs had quickly followed after him.
As he was riding towards the elementary school he couldn't decide which emotion he was feeling the most; pissed, proud or concerned.
Thankfully by the time he actually got to the school it was concern and pride winning out as he dismounted his bike.
Chibs nodded at him, "Is the little lassie okay brother?"
Happy grunted and nodded, "Think so. Principle said something about her use of violence or some shit. Whatever went down i'm thinking she started and finished it"
Tig smirked and chuckled nodding in agreement as they all walked into the school finding the office easily.
"Can I help you?" the older woman asked from behind the desk in the office stood as she narrowed her eyes at the three of them.
Happy knew that walking in here with his Kutte would earn them looks, but he also knew that Bramty wasn't the least bit ashamed of who he or his brothers are and as long as it didn't bother her then it didn't bother him.
"Yeah principle called" Happy answered and she nodded gesturing to the door to the left and they all walked in.
This wasn't the first time he'd ever been in the principles office, in fact far from it. It wasn't even the first time he had been called in as the parent and not the child suspected for doing something wrong. He didn't envy Bramty right now in the slightest though.
"Hello, Mr. Lowman?" the man stood from behind his desk when they walked in and looked between the three obviously trying to figure out who her father was. This wasn't the same principle as the school had last time he was in here.
Happy nodded and sat in the chair beside Bramty while Tig and Chibs stood behind them. He distinctly remembered his principle's office looking similar to this and he only remembered that because he spend the entire time looking everywhere but at him mother who had been seated right next to him.
"Miss Lowman, would you go ahead and tell you father why we're all here today" The principle prompted Bramty.
Bramty looked at the principle with a small glare but not once did she look at him and Happy almost laughed when she said, "Cause you called him"
The principle pursed his lips and they all heard Tig try to hide his laugh by coughing. "Miss Lowman" the principle - Henry Redington, as it said on the name plate - sighed in exasperation as he gave Bramty a disapproving look.
Bramty nodded in defeat, she knew when she was wrong and Happy had taught her to own up to it when something was on her. That was exactly what she did, "Because I broke Kyle's nose"
Happy nodded when she looked over at him, he wasn't happy about this and he didn't hide that but he was glad she was owning up to the fact that she was the one in the wrong here. Like he'd always taught her to do. If it was self-defence or some shit like that then it was a different story but when it was - what he could only assume as anger from this morning's run in with Tara - then she needed to face the consequences.
"And would you explain why Miss Lowman?" The principle raised his brows
Bramty nodded, "Well, because he was licking the glue"
Happy frowned at his daughter, he'd thought some kid would of had to do a little more than that to make her snap. "You punched a kid because he was licking the glue?" he repeated, sure, licking glue is disgusting but it didn't really have anything to do with her nor did it warrant getting hit.
"I didn't punch him" Bramty said quietly, her eyes fixed on something right over his shoulder and not his face.
"What did yer do little lassie?" Chibs frowned sounding as confused as Happy felt.
Bramty shifted uncomfortably in her seat looking like Chibs question had physically pained her to hear. Happy had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop from laughing and one look at Tig and Chibs let him know they were doing the same thing.
"I, well, Y'Know" she shrugged
"Uh no, no, I don't think I do kiddo" Tig barely kept a straight face and Bramty got that pained look on her face again.
"I yelled at him and then I got up, grabbed his hair and slammed his face into the edge of the desk" she sighed uncomfortably again, "A few times" Bramty added quietly.
Happy looked up at the principle knowing if he focused on what she'd done he would laugh, "So?" he asked when he turned to the principle.
Mr. Redington nodded at him slightly condescendingly, "So we will be suspending your daughter for 2 days instead of putting this on her permanent file. This can't happen again, our school has a vey strict policy of no violence"
"Right. Thanks" Happy nodded standing and the four of them silently made their way back down to the school parking lot before Tig, Chibs and Happy all laughed loudly.
Bramty rolled her eyes at them and huffed but didn't say anything.
"Can't go making the other kids your personal punching bags Bramty" Happy reprimanded once he'd calmed down.
Bramty nodded, "I know Daddy. I was the one who did the wrong thing, I'm sorry"
Happy picked her up and set her on the back of his bike, "You don't have to be sorry baby girl. You owned up to your shit and it's not like you can take it back so what's to be sorry for?" he shrugged, he couldn't really blame her for lashing out and he also couldn't be pissed she'd use violence to do it.
It was exactly the kind of thing he did now and also had done when he was her age... hell it was the exact kind of thing he does now!
As long as she didn't go around hitting people for no reason all the time, then he could forgive lashing out at someone every now and then.
"We should get t'a little lassie in boxin' brother" Chibs smirked
Happy nodded, he had taught Bramty to fight years ago and every now and then he'll practice the skills with her, which she happens to love doing. Boxing didn't sound like a bad idea, it would give her more skills to learn and a way to take out her anger safely.
" 'S not a bad idea" Happy agreed before settling on his bike and taking off back to TM with Bramty behind him.
Maybe Bramty would be able to start training if they had time during her 2 day suspension from school. He was pretty sure it was gonna be a good thing the principle wasn't settling this issue on her permanent file cause he didn't think this would be the last time she got suspended from school.
