Peter watched as the familiar words floated across the screen once the movie began. He was watching his favorite movie with Asgardians, Avengers, and his mentor's family. Wow. That was weird. He had thought that the most interesting part of his day would've been MJ scaring Flash off. He would never admit it, but Peter was thankful for how scary that girl was.
Peter wasn't sure how he was supposed to watch a movie with the Avengers, but thankfully they had it covered. The theater was quiet for a couple minutes, but then Mr. Hawkeye threw popcorn at Natasha… oh she's strangling him. Peter didn't know whether to laugh, or help Clint. He looked to Mr. Stark, who was laughing mercilessly. Thor had started throwing his popcorn at poor Clint. Everyone else was trying to hold in laughs while still attempting to watch the movie in peace.
The Popcorn War turned into the event of the night. Around ten minutes after the first blow was fired by Clint, everyone was throwing popcorn. Including the Rogues, Bruce Banner, and… Pepper Potts? Peter felt slightly out of place. These people were family. They did everything together. And he had only just met them. Saying the first thing that came to mind, Peter blurted out,
"I'm Spider-Man." Tony turned to the kid with his jaw almost reaching the floor, and then he burst out into laughter.
"May and I were betting on how long it would take, kid," Tony laughed. Peter protested,
"Mr. Starkk what have we said about betting on people?" Tony shrugged. Peter and Tony were oblivious to the rest of the team ceasing the popcorn throwing. Suddenly Peter saw that all eyes were on him. He gave them a cheeky smile and waved. Pepper turned slowly towards Tony.
"Tony…" Pepper said slowly.
"Tones…" Rhodey added on. Peter looked anxiously to the floor. This wasn't quite the reaction he had been expecting. Maybe they were mad at him.
"I'm sorry?" Peter offered quietly. Natasha walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder.
"You didn't do anything, kid. But I am going to have to ask you to leave the room for just a few minutes. You're not in trouble, we just have to talk to Tony." Peter bit his lip, and nodded, walking out the room.
"Okay Ms. Natasha Black Widow Ma'am. Um… I'll come back soon then," Peter shot a worried glance at Mr. Stark.
"It's okay Underoos, I'll tell you when you can come back."
