It's been over a month since the band got a movie deal. It's also been over a month since Lucy won that cruise and she's been gone. It's been difficult for Natsu without Lucy, but things are still going well between those two. At the moment, Natsu and the rest of the band are working on the movie.

"How's it sounding, Levy?" Natsu asked as they listened over some of the recordings from shooting the movie.

"It's all sounding good." Levy said. "Lucy really came through before she left with her parts. We just might be able to make it work."

"Nice." Gray said. "This movie is really coming together. If things keep going like this, the movie will be out in no time."

"You said it." Erza said. "Our lines might be good, but let's not forget that we need to get our music in there. Not to mention we still have our usual concerts to hold."

"No joke. We're going to have our hands full." Gajeel said. "Man! Lucy is so lucky. She's living it up on a cruise and we're busy with this movie and our music."

"Natsu, have you heard from Lucy lately?" Gray asked. "Shouldn't she be coming home soon? It has been over a month since she left for it."

"Maybe, but she said she isn't sure when she'll be back exactly." Natsu said. "It could be any day now. Maybe another week or so."

"Well, it will be nice to have her back." Levy said. "Things just aren't the same when one of us isn't here."

"Yeah." Natsu said as he was looking forward to that. Natsu was going to be real happy to see Lucy again, but he was in for a shock when Zeref came walking in and he didn't look happy.

"Hey. I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Zeref said.

"Hey, bro. What's up?" Natsu asked.

"Well, I just learned about something I thought you should know, Natsu." Zeref said. "You were probably going to find this out eventually, but I thought I get to you first. It's about Lucy."

"Lucy? Is something wrong?" Natsu asked.

"I think. You might want to take a look at this." Zeref said. He handed Natsu a magazine and the front cover had a surprising photo of Lucy on it.

"Lucy Heartfilia: Lucy No-Heart?" Natsu said. "Keyboard player of Fairy Tale, Lucy Heartfilia, spotted kissing another boy when she's dating Natsu Dragneel." All of them looked at the photo and saw it was true. It showed Lucy kissing another guy. No one in the band knew what to think of this.

...

Natsu's Apartment

"It might not be Lucy." Gray said. They all went back to the Dragneel's apartment and tried to find any proof that Lucy didn't do what the magazine says for Natsu. "There are lots of girls with long blonde hair. You can't even see her face with her wearing those shades."

"The photo might not even be real." Gajeel said.

"Yeah. Someone could have taken it out of context or edited it to look bad." Erza said. "Those lousy reporters can make anything look bad when it's really not just to make some money."

"Guys, Zeref already had a look before he showed me." Natsu said with him not happy. "He confirms that it was no photo edited and he says the chances are good that really is Lucy. Not so good for me."

"I'm sorry, Natsu. I wanted to be sure about this before you found out." Zeref said. "I didn't believe it myself, but I'm certain that's Lucy in the photo."

"I just can't figure it out." Natsu said. "Why would she do this?"

"We're all as surprised as you are about this. This just doesn't seem like Lucy at all." Levy said. Speaking of Lucy, she actually came in the apartment.

"Surprise!" Lucy said. Today is full of surprises. Lucy acted like nothing happen as she greeted all of them and they acted like nothing is going on. "Natsu! I missed you!" She ran right over to him and hugged him.

"Hey. What are you doing here? I thought you would still be on that cruise." Natsu said.

"It's over. I docked just today." Lucy said. "I didn't say anything because I wanted to surprise all of you." Natsu tried to be happy, but knowing the other surprise is causing problems for that. "Wow. That's not the reaction I was hoping for. In fact, from none of you. You all don't look so happy to see me."

"Sorry. It's just... It's just something else is going on." Natsu said.

"Yeah. You're just full of surprises." Gajeel said.

"What does that mean?" Lucy asked.

"Nothing." Gajeel asked as he tried to look casual as he opened up the magazine like he was reading, but his true intention was to show the cover. As soon as Lucy saw it, she was aware of what they were talking about.

"Oh... That..." Lucy said as she didn't seem so sure what to say. "I can explain."

"Okay. Explain." Gray said.

"Guys..." Zeref said as he acted like he was going keep things calm, but he had a change of attitude as he scolded her. "Actually, I want to hear this myself. Explain how you kissed another guy when you're dating my little brother."

"Wait. Haven't we seen this before with the Naked Brothers Band when it hasn't been that long when we met them?" Levy whispered.

"Just go with it." Erza whispered.

"Well, his name is Miguel. He was on the cruise before I got there." Lucy said. "He's this guy from France. He tried to keep me company while I was on the cruise by myself, but I didn't think that would happen. Besides, you know how French are. A kiss to us is like a handshake to them."

"Aren't they suppose to kiss the cheeks for that? This guy kissed you on the mouth." Gray said.

"So what's the deal with you and this Miguel?" Natsu said.

"Nothing." Lucy said. "That's all that happened." Lucy felt like she was getting the third-degree from everyone. "You know, I should get going. My parents don't know I'm back either and I better go see them."

"Okay..." Natsu said.

"I'll call you later." Lucy said as she kissed his cheek and walked out of there. That wasn't exactly the reunion she was hoping for. Neither was the band and the fact that she just took off like that probably didn't help her.

...

The Next Morning

"You're kidding me." Mr. Dragneel said as the family made breakfast. "Are we talking about the same sweet Lucy Heartfilia we've always known?"

"The very same." Mrs. Dragneel said as the parents were aware of what's going on with Lucy and Natsu. "I'm just as shocked as the rest of you are. Lucy seemed like such a sweet girl. It just didn't seem like her at all to kiss another guy."

"How do you think Natsu feels? I heard him up all night. He couldn't sleep because he can't wrap his head around this whole thing." Zeref said.

"How is my baby boy doing now?" Mrs. Dragneel asked.

"You're about to find out. Here he comes." Mr. Dragneel said. They all saw Natsu come out of his room with him in his pajamas and robe.

"Hey, Natsu." Zeref said as he and the rest of the family tried being supportive.

"There's the rock star." Mr. Dragneel said.

"I just came to get some breakfast." Natsu said as he grabbed a banana that did not look so appealing.

"Oh, Natsu. Don't take the bad looking banana. I'm making pancakes." Mrs. Dragneel said.

"Pancakes are for happy times." Natsu said as he walked out of there. This was not looking good for him.

"Oh no." Mr. Dragneel said.

"What?" Zeref asked.

"I think Natsu might entering a state of mind that is no fun. Especially since you're in a band." Mr. Dragneel said.

"What? The stages of grief?" Mrs. Dragneel asked.

"Nope. It's simply known as funk." Mr. Dragneel said. Zeref didn't get it, but it didn't really sound good.

...

Fairy Tale's Studio

Everyone was a little shocked by the news of Lucy, but they're all more concerned with how Natsu was doing. It wasn't easy, but Zeref got Natsu to their studio because they needed to work on their songs and the movie.

"Hey. There he is." Levy said as they were all trying to be supportive.

"Whatever." Natsu said as he went and had a seat on a couch.

"You couldn't have gotten him dressed out of his robe and pajamas before leaving the house?" Erza asked.

"I was lucky to get him out of there." Zeref said. "He's really torn up about this whole thing. I've never seen him like this." He looked around, but noticed someone was missing. "Lucy isn't here?"

"No. She went to see if there's anything she can do for the movie now that she's back." Levy said. That might be a good thing. With Lucy not here, they can focus on helping Natsu get better.

"Come on, Natsu." Gray said as he went over to him. "Lucy just made one little mistake. You need to get up, brush your teeth, get dressed..." Gray pulled Natsu up, but when Natsu blew in his face, Gray was disgusted with how it smelled. "Brush your teeth again. It's barely been a day. What died in there?"

"My heart feels like it is." Natsu said.

"Come on. Don't be so dramatic." Gajeel said as he grabbed Natsu's guitar. "Here. Start playing. We need to get some work done and you need to get your mind off of this whole thing with Lucy." Natsu grabbed the guitar, but he was playing badly. This wasn't looking good at all.

"Poor, Natsu." Levy said as they all felt really bad for him.

"My dad says he's entering a state of mind he called funk." Zeref said. All of them were astonished from hearing that. Levy brought her hand to her mouth, that's how serious they thought this was.

"You! Don't panic." Gajeel said to Levy. "No one panic."

"You guys know about it?" Zeref asked.

"In a literal sense, it just means he's getting depressed." Levy said. "In a more figurative sense, it means that we're in trouble."

"It means that Natsu might not be able to sing, perform, or help with the movie until he gets over this." Erza said. "There's no telling how long that could take and we can't afford that at the moment. There's still a lot to do."

"Gajeel's right. Let's not panic yet. Let's try getting some work done." Gray said. They all agreed to that and tried to help Natsu through this. They went to the recording booth and got Natsu in place.

"Okay, Natsu. We need to record a few stuff for the movie." Levy said. "No pressure or anything. Just try and say your lines."

"Got it." Levy said. All of them were hoping for the best. Levy hit recorded and gave Natsu the signal for him to start, but he wasn't really doing anything.

"What's my line again?" Natsu said. All of them groaned from his question.

"He didn't even try. The guy is wussing out on us." Gajeel said.

"Leave him alone." Erza said. "Lucy is his first real girlfriend and has been wanting to go out with her for a long time. Now he find out that she kissed another guy. How is he suppose to feel?"

"That might be so, but we need him to snap out of it." Gray said.

"Guys!" Natsu called and got their attention. "I'm sorry. I don't want to let you guys down, but I just can't wrap my head around all this."

"Natsu, it's fine. We understand." Levy said.

"Maybe you should call Lucy and try to talk to her about this." Zeref said. They all thought that was a good idea and luck would have it that his phone went off. He looked and saw it was her.

"It's Lucy! She's calling!" Natsu said.

"Answer it!" All of them said. Natsu didn't wait around as he answered it.

"Hey, Lucy. I'm glad you called." Natsu said. "Look, I really need to talk to you about this whole thing with you kissing that other guy. I'm trying to understand how this happened." So far so good. "What? What?! No! Don't tell me nothing happened when something clearly did!" Now it wasn't sounding good anymore and the others were getting concerned. "Are you kidding me?! You..." The others stopped listening as Levy cut off the sound.

"I don't think we need to hear this." Levy said.

"Good call." Gray said as they saw Natsu loosing it in there. Natsu got so mad that when he ended the call, he smashed his arms against the wall. None of them liked this. Levy reached for the sound and turned it back on.

"Natsu? What happened?" Levy asked. Natsu didn't really answer. He just got out of there and slammed the door shut. Now Natsu really is in a funk and this could have serious problems for the band.
