"She quit?! I can't believe this." Zeref said. "I never would have imagined that anyone in the band would actually quit."
"Well, that's what happened. Lucy quit and that's that." Natsu said as he just didn't seem to care. The news that Lucy actually quit the band was a real shock. She may have quit during Battle of the Bands, but things are different this time.
"Natsu, don't you even care?" Zeref said. "Oh no. Are you entering the funk again? Are we going to need to take another trip to the woods?"
"No. There's no time." Natsu said as he got his stuff together. "I need to meet up with the band." Then, in the snap of a finger, he changed attitude to rage. "Members of the band that actually want to be there!" Zeref didn't expect that and he's starting to get concerned.
"You know, I think I might come along." Zeref said as he went with Natsu.

Fairy Tail Studio
Things are not going to be the same around the studio without Lucy. The others thought this was some sort of cruel joke, but it isn't. They thought she would change her mind and come back like before, but it doesn't look like that's the case this time.
"I can't believe she's really gone." Erza said.
"I know. I keep thinking she's just going to walk right back in and the whole thing probably never happened." Levy said.
"Guys, I know none of this like this, but it looks like Lucy is really gone this time." Gray said. "Things between her and Natsu got a little ugly and we all knew it wasn't going to end well."
"I think we should be more concerned about Dragneel." Gajeel said. "At Lucy went home and her parents have to deal with whatever she's going through. There's no telling what he's going to be like with us." Gajeel had a point. They can't imagine what poor Natsu is going through.
"Hey!" Natsu called as he sounded so cheery. Zeref came in concerned for Natsu. "So what's the plan today?"
"Wow. You're in a surprising good mood." Gray said.
"Want to know what's even more surprising? He wasn't like that before. He got all cheery like three minutes ago." Zeref said. All of them were starting to get concerned about him now.
"So what's going, Levy? What's the deal with that wedding gig of ours?" Natsu said.
"Well, I actually cancelled it." Levy said. "With all that's going on, I didn't think you would be up to perform anything."
"Cancelled?!" Natsu shouted and turned to rage. "How could you just cancelled some of our concerts?!"
"I'm sorry." Natsu said. It was then that Natsu got all sad. "I know you're just trying to do your best. All of you are. I'm going to get you all some water." Natsu just walked right out of there.
"Man, she messed him up good." Gajeel said as they were all concerned about Natsu now.
"I saw my aunt pregnant and even she didn't have mood swings like that." Natsu said.
"Poor, Natsu. He was really in love with Lucy." Zeref said.
"Well, we need him to snap out of it. I could try talking to him." Gajeel said as he held up a fist. None of them really liked the idea.
"Guys, thinks about what's he going through." Erza said. "Lucy was his first real girlfriend, it's his first break up, Lucy quits the band, and with everything else going on, it's a lot to take in."
"Erza's right. We've got to try and help him get through this." Zeref said. All of them agreed. They all miss Lucy, but Natsu needs them now.

Lucy
Now that Lucy wasn't in the band anymore, she just hung around her home. She hated that she quit the band and broke up with Natsu, but she didn't want to be treated the way Natsu was, icing her out and singing songs to make her feel bad. She also couldn't date Natsu because she just doesn't like how he's been acting. It's understandable that he would be mad, but she doesn't agree with him hurting someone.
"Lucy?" Mrs. Heartfilia called as she knocked on her bedroom door. "Do you want to talk about this?"
"Not right now, Mom." Lucy said.
"Okay. Just know your father and I are here if you need anything." Mrs. Heartfilia said and left her alone. Lucy looked over to her bedside table and saw a photo of her and Natsu. How could two people as close as they were ended up where they are now. All she did was take the photo and put it down so she couldn't look at it. All Lucy can do is try and move on from all this.

Natsu
Everyone in the band was really concerned about Natsu. He's having weird mood swings and it's not looking good for him. Luckily, it's not like last time. He's still playing his music well. That just raises more concerns as to how he's handling all of this.
"This is so weird." Gray said as they all watched him. "He's playing his music well, unlike last time, but he's acting like a different person every five minutes."
"I'm actually a little nervous to approach him. What's he going to do next?" Levy said.
"Okay. He's my brother. I'll go talk to him." Zeref said. He was brave enough to go up to Natsu and tap him on the shoulder. "Hey, Natsu!"
"I'm working!" Natsu shouted at his brother and scared Natsu.
"Okay! I'll just leave you alone." Zeref said as he turned around, but Natsu acted quickly and hugged Zeref by the legs.
"No. Don't leave me!" Natsu pleaded.
"Natsu, we're all getting worried about you." Zeref said as he tried to get Natsu to let go. "You've been acting really weird and lately. We're all starting to think you're not dealing with the fact that Lucy left well."
"What are you talking?" Natsu said as he got up and started jumping around and acted happy. "I'm not the least bit sad."
"What...is...happening?" Gray said.
"He's acting nuttier than a squirrel with cheeks filled with nuts." Gajeel said.
"We've got to do something to snap him out of this. He's really loosing it." Levy said.
"Maybe it's because of the vacant spot in the group." Gajeel said. "You know, maybe he just feels incomplete or something. Do you think it's time that we start looking for a new keyboard player? Someone to take Lucy's place."
"No way." Gray said. "That could make things worse since he's literally crazy about Lucy."
"Besides, I still have faith that Lucy will come back one day." Levy said.
"So what are we going to do?" Gray asked. "We've got to do something to snap him out of this."
"Let me. This usually helps." Erza said as she walked in. She walked right over to Natsu and slapped him right across the face. No one was really expecting that, even if it was Erza.
"Did not see that coming." Gajeel said.
"If anything, I thought she would have actually hit him." Gray said.
"Ow." Natsu said.
"Natsu, stop it." Erza said as she grabbed him by the shoulders. "You're not doing well. You need help. We're all upset about what happened with Lucy, but this isn't the way to handle it."
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm fine." Natsu said. Erza raised her hand to slap him again and he instantly got all scared. "No! Don't hit me again! You're right!"
"She's good." Gray said with the others agreeing to that. Once they saw Natsu calm down, all of them walked inside and gathered to help him.
"Natsu, it's okay to be upset about all of this. What really matters is how you deal with it." Levy said.
"I don't know how to deal with it. That's the problem." Natsu said. "I got mad at her over something that wasn't her fault and said some things I shouldn't have. This time, I did listen to her, but she got mad at me and I just got mad back. I just didn't want to put up with it anymore. It's all my fault she broke up with me and quit the band. There doesn't appear to be a way to fix it."
"No. It's not all your fault." Gray said. "Lucy made her choice. Frankly, I can't believe she even argued with you about this. That snobby French was asking for it."
"Natsu, we get that you're upset. However, trying to bury how you're really feeling is not good." Erza said. "That's what caused you to act the way you did."
"So what am I suppose to do?" Natsu said.
"What you do best." Levy said as she handed him his guitar. "A lot of singers write how they feel and put it into a song. What if we write a song that expresses how you feel. Lucy is a nice and sensitive person. Maybe if she hears it, she'll come back."
"You think?" Natsu said. "If she doesn't want to date me anymore that's fine, but I would want her back in the band."
"That's a good start at least." Zeref said.
"We can't promise anything, but we can at least try." Erza said. With that, they all got to work on a new song that they're hoping will reach Lucy.

They were able to get a new song and after a hard week, they got themselves ready for another performance. They made it on the stage and readied themselves. This was going to be their first performance without Lucy.
"How's it going?" Natsu said with the audience cheering. "As you probably know, this is our first performance with one less member. We're going to sing a new song and I'm hoping it goes well." With that, they began with this new song, a song about how they don't care how bad things were. They just want that one person back and give them another chance.

Lucy
The song went out live and Lucy heard it. It has got her thinking about a few things.
"Lucy! Someone is here to see you!" Mrs. Heartfilia called. Lucy came out of the room and walked down a few steps before she spotted Miguel.
"Aw! Miss Lucy! There you are!" Miguel said.
"What do you want?" Lucy asked.
"I heard you finally left that band and I came to check on you." Miguel said, but it was a bad start to Lucy. "Honestly, I say you made the right decision. You are too good for that so called band. That guitar player is a scoundrel. Look at what he did." He pointed to the cast over his hand. "You are much better off without them, especially that beast. So how about you and I go dine at a café." Lucy's parents did not approve of how he was talking about her friends and Lucy was not going to put with it either. Especially since it was because of him this is even happening to her.
"Dad, get him out of here." Lucy said with much resentment as she turned away and went back to her room. Miguel wasn't expecting that and Mr. Heartfilia did what his daughter asked. Lucy went back into her room and grabbed the photo of her and Natsu. She has a lot to think about.

"That song was a hit." Gajeel said as the band went back stage.
"How are you feeling now, Natsu?" Erza asked.
"A lot better now that I let all that out." Natsu said. "Levy? Any news?" Natsu had some hope, but Levy shook her head.
"Sorry, Natsu. Nothing from Lucy." Levy with Natsu disappointed. He understands that if Lucy doesn't want to date him anymore, but he does want her back in the band. Perhaps he might need to face the facts that Lucy isn't coming back.
