Chapter Three: Eric

The next morning

Deeks POV:

The shrill ring of my alarm pierces through the quiet morning. I groan and hit the snooze button on my phone all without Kensi moving. I look down at her sprawled out on the bed with her head laying on my chest. She looks so beautiful in the mornings especially with her engagement ring resting on her left hand which is laying on my side. I continue to stare down at her thinking of how lucky I really am to be able to call this woman mine. The snooze alarm goes off and I quickly silence the alarm and gently move a strand of hair off her face.

"Kens. Its time to get up" I whisper before kissing her cheek. She swats at me and curls her face into my neck.

"No. Too early." I laugh and carefully slide out from beneath her. I quickly dress in sweats and a t-shirt.

"Babe, I'm going to go walk Monty. I will make sure you are up when I come back." I look back at her on the bed hugging my pillow and see her throw a thumbs up in the air. Monty greets me at the bedroom door with his leash in his mouth.

"Lets go boy."

Kensi POV:

I wake up to the smell of coffee and sunshine on my face. I smile knowing Deeks is home from taking Monty on a walk and had opened the curtains. 7:30am. That gives us 2 hours before we have to be at the mission, thankfully today should just be a paperwork day since we worked the case yesterday.

I slip on a silk robe and walk out to the kitchen to see Deeks standing in front of the stove making frittatas and monty sitting next to him.

"Morning." I say as I walk up behind him wrapping my arms around his waist and kissing his shoulder blade after petting Monty's head.

"Good Morning Fern. Coffee?" He turns around wrapping his arms around me and giving me a quick kiss. I smile and grab his coffee from the table and walk with the plates to the table.

"Hey! That was mine. Who knew I agreed to marry a thief?!" I laugh as he sits down next to me bringing the food with him. Monty trots in after him and lays down in his dog bed.

We silently eat our food stealing glances at each other and I see Deeks smirk.

"You know… We have plenty of time before work to shower and us conserving water yesterday was such a great plan.." Deeks says casually as he takes both of our plates to the sink after we finish eating.

I grin. I wait until his back is to me and untie the robe standing against the doorframe.

" I think you are wearing too many clothes for a shower." He turns and his eyes go wide as I drop the robe to the floor. I take off in a sprint to the bathroom hearing his thundering footsteps behind me.

"Ohh girl. I agree!"

At the Mission

Callen groans as it has been a long day filled with paperwork. 5:55pm. Only 5 more minutes before we can leave and go get drinks with Nell and Eric.

"Im out. I think I am going to go see Sam. See you all tomorrow." We both wave and say goodbye before we see the wonder twins walking down the stairs.

"Drinks?" We both nod and pack up our things.

"Please." We all walk to our cars and split off to the normal pairs as we head to our favorite bar on Sunset.

"You are telling Eric tonight right?" I ask as I pull the Audi out into LA traffic.

"Yeah of course. Did you bring the ring?" I smile and lift the chain off my neck to show the ring. Deeks squeezes my thigh and leaves his hand there the rest of the drive.

Before we walk in he pulls me close and kisses me hard.

"Hmm I love you" I smile and pull him back down to me.

"I love you too." I grab his hand and we walk in the main doors waving to the bartender.

Eric and Nell join a few minutes later and we order a round of beers for the table.

We casually just talk about work and Sam for awhile before Nell gives me a side eye from across the booth.

"Nell, wanna dance? Leave the boys to talk surfing." She laughs and gives Eric a quick kiss before sliding out of the booth.

I kiss Deeks and whisper in his ear "Now's your chance to tell him." Deeks smiles and squeezes my hip as I get out.

Deeks POV

Eric has been talking about the newest video game he bought for the last three songs as we watch the girls dance on the floor. God, those jeans are painted on Kensi. Focus Deeks.

"So Eric.. anything new with you and the Nellster?" I throw out as Eric takes a drink of his beer.

"Um no not really. You know, we are good. Great. How are you and Kens?" I smile and glance back at Kensi dancing to a Pink song.

"Good, really good. Um speaking of that." I clear my throat and take a swig of my beer.

"Have you figured out how you are going to ask her to marry you? Because come on Deeks. We all know she will say yes. Well unless she doesn't. That would be awkward. Could you imagine? The tension at OSP? Oh no, what would happen with the team? Deeks maybe you shouldn't ask her." Eric starts to ramble. I laugh and slap my hand on his shoulder.

"Beale. Beale. BEALE. Chill man." He takes a deep breath and looks at me.

"We um are actually engaged already…" I watch as his eyes go huge and he lets out a small scream. Kensi and Nell immediately rush over thinking something is wrong.

I give Kensi a small smile and wrap an arm around her waist to bring her closer to me. Nell winks at me and rubs Eric's shoulder.

"Nell. Nell. You won't believe what Deeks just told me! He said they are ENGAGED!" Kensi lets out a small laugh and all eyes turn to Nell who is trying to keep in a laugh.

"I know."

"How could you guys not tell us?! We are your best friends. We love you. We are— wait did you just say you knew?!" Eric spins and looks incredibly at Nell. At this point we are all laughing and Kensi sits down on my lap.

"Can you unhook my necklace?" Kensi whispers as Nell try's to explain the situation.

"So you really are engaged? You aren't messing with me? Because that would be mean." Eric says after a few minutes. Kensi laughs and holds up her left hand now with the diamond ring on it.

Nell squeals and pulls her hand across the table to have a look at the ring.

"Deeks my man. You did amazing. I love this ring." Nell gushes and gives Kensi another hug.

Eric just shakes his head and looks at us both.

"I am so happy for the two of you. Now that you are getting married can you get a puppy?" We all laugh and order another round.

Later that night

"Deeks?" I look up from my phone as I am laying on our bed when Kensi appears in the doorway.

"Yeah babe?" I smirk when I realize she is wearing my LAPD shirt that looks more like a dress on her.

"I love you. I am so happy we are telling people about our engagement. And I can not wait to be married to you." She walks across the room and lays next to me. I pull her in for a long kiss with my hand pulling at the shirt.

"I love you. I can't wait to get married to you too, even though you are a shirt and coffee thief." She laughs and pulls my shirt over my head.

"Three down." I say as I pull her back in for another kiss.
