"I didn't have any, I was just weak Saiyan who couldn't win a fight. Why would anyone want to be my friend? You... you are the first Deku." I said as I pulled my legs up to my chest. "Even my brother who did everything he could to train me said I was a waste of Saiyan blood. And I always wanted to prove them wrong."
"Saiyans… you speak so highly of your people... yet to me they are villains." He placed his hand on my shoulder, "You aren't like them."
"I know... it's just... I never knew anything else. Being told that even the weakest of Saiyans were mighty warriors... all except for me." I rested my chin on my knees... "And now I'm thrust into a world where helping others is smiled upon over tearing them down... I'm just so confused."
"You did amazing today, you did more then anyone. You should be proud." I looked at his green eyes. "I'm proud of you."
"Thank you Deku." I smiled at him.
Chapter 16: U.S.J. Aftermath
The ride in the car was... well, "Oh I was so worried about you two when I heard the news. Fuma you are too young to be fighting villains like that." I sat in the back of the car with Deku. "You could have died, I mean look at you!" She pulled into her apartments parking lot. Because of just how much I had been injured I had to stay a few nights with the Midoriyas.
"I'll be fine. Really." I smiled as I stepped out of the car. "Things could have gone a lot worse had Deku not come up with his plan." She continued to dote over us as we headed up to the apartment. I settled down in front of the couch as Inko set about getting a supper together, but I wasn't all that hungry, still having a small amount of adrenaline in my veins. I stretched out my non casted arm as I popped my back. "Deku." I looked at the green haired boy.
"Oh, what is it Fuma?" He settled down on the ground next to me.
I rest my head on the couch cushion, "Nothing, just..." I looked sideways at him, "You want to get stronger to help others... I just want to get stronger for my own gain. A fight with you."
"So, it's who you are?"
"But... after that... what then?" I asked, "I don't really have a end goal, just doing what I have to do." I pushed some hair out of my face, only for it to pop right back into place.
"Well... I guess you take it as life goes on, and try to find out what your supposed to do. Lead your own life." He gave me one of his smiles, and it felt like my heart skipped a beat for some reason.
I got up groggily and pulled a shirt over my underwear, the cast bindings over my ribs had made it hard to sleep. I felt stronger then I had ever been, and it felt like that my power level was still rising ever so slowly as my body healed. Opening my door I practically tripped over Deku who was about to knock on my door. "Morning." I said to the boy as my eyes cleared.
" !" he was tensed up under me as I stood up, rubbing my eyes I looked at him, shirtless.
'Holy shit... he gives some Saiyans a run for their money with a body that toned.' I stood up which seemed to only make him more red as he looked away. 'What is with this human?' I offered him a hand up, "You are a nervous wreck." I said as I pulled him to his feet.
"Sorry, just... uh... nothinggottogetbreakfast!" he ran past me to the kitchen.
'What is up with him?' I thought, 'When he talks about somethings he's fine, but others he just… breaks down' I shook my head as I cracked my back and followed him. I had a light break fast of three eggs, four slices of toast, bacon, hash browns, an apple and two glasses of orange juice. When I was done I had a awkward shower and got dressed in a set of clothes that consisted of a pair of jeans and a large blue hoodie. 'This is what humans wear? It's so... poofy.'
I walked out to the living room, "Fuma, since we have the day off, want to go exploring the city?" Deku asked, "I have some spare money, we could get a bite to eat for lunch."
"Sure, I haven't really had much of a need to go around town." We walked to the door when Inko called out to us.
"You two be careful. Izuku, I trust that you know..."
"Mom! Please!" He was red in the face.
"Okay, just have fun you two." She smiled.
The streets were buzzing with activity and gossip, "Have you heard, UA was attacked."
"Yeah, heard the group called them selves the league of Villains."
"I saw on the news they really injured one of the students, put her in the hospital, even having torn off her tail." My eye twitched at that, I wanted nothing more then the comfort that came from my tail. I know I had said it was fine, but I had lost part of myself.
"Fuma, you okay?" Deku asked as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, just... I feel like I failed. My first real fight and..." I sighed.
"Hey, you just have to get back up and fight harder next time. You will be a great hero." he gave me one of his awkward smiles.
I shrugged of his hand as we kept on walking. "Hey, Deku?" I asked him.
"Oh, what is it?" He asked back.
"Do you best to be the top hero, because I won't be far behind." I smiled at him, "I will be the number one hero, Mr, Future Symbol of Peace."
I promise the next one will be a longer chapter.
