Open And Honest
Wow. She had really gotten lost in that kiss. The man had an extremely gifted mouth. It made Olivia wonder how that mouth could make her feel if it were on other parts of her body. Her mind wanted to explore that thought in more vivid detail. When she practically purred out loud at just the thought of it, she squeezed her eyes shut in hopes that he hadn't heard her.
"What was that?" Fitz asked with a smile. He was still holding her in his arms, and was thrilled that she was in no rush to leave them.
Of course he had heard her. Dammit! She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "Hmmm? Nothing."
"Come on. Didn't we have a rule about honesty?" He hoped using her words against her would prod her to spill it.
"Absolutely not." He was trying to get her to own up to her dirty thoughts. She chuckled and leaned her head against his chest as embarrassment coursed through her veins.
"I think we did." He chirped with a chuckle of his own.
"The rule was if one of us starts getting on the other's nerves, we discuss it like adults so there's no weirdness." She reminded him.
He couldn't help himself. Still grinning, Fitz leaned down so he was close to her ear and whispered, "hey, Livvie. You're getting on my nerves."
She shivered at the combination of the nickname he had given her and at having him so close to her. Lifting her head slowly, Olivia caught his gaze. There was no trace of amusement on his face now. It had been replaced with a piercing look, and he was clenching his jaw repeatedly. His left hand came up and tenderly rubbed his thumb against her cheek and down over her chin.
There was no way he could be content to just look at her right now. He felt compelled to touch her. And once Fitz had touched her, he wanted to kiss her more than he wanted to take his next breath. She appeared to be feeling the same way, but he wasn't about to take that for granted. Instead, he dipped his head slightly and waited for her answer. It came in the form of Olivia reaching a hand up behind his neck and pulling him down to close the gap.
The moment their lips were reunited, the tender and gentle disappeared in a flash. Olivia pulled him closer, their bodies pressed firmly up against one another as she ravaged his mouth. Fitz spun them around, pushing Olivia firmly up against the nearest wall, making sure his arms took the brunt of the jolt. When he finally broke the kiss to suck in oxygen, his mouth made a trail towards her neck, lighting little fires with his lips along the way.
Olivia gasped for air, holding onto him firmly as her body began to go boneless at the things his mouth was doing in her neck. Every so often Fitz would leave her neck to attack her lips again with reckless abandon, as if he had forgotten what kissing her felt like. She felt his hips start to grind against hers and she began having thoughts about pulling him upstairs to explore that without the clothing in the way.
Her hands slid down over his shoulders to his chest, where they came to stop. She broke the kiss and gave him a light nudge. "I'm sorry, Fitz. That was just getting too..."
"Intense?" He asked with a hazy look. "I know. I'm sorry too. I got carried away. It's just so effortless with you, Livvie."
"We don't really know each other very well, and I don't want to ruin what could be a great thing by adding sex to the mix too soon." The words were no sooner out of her mouth when she realized what she had said. "I mean...I just think that...Shit!"
Fitz took her hand and interrupted her. "It's okay. I know what you meant."
"You do?" She asked doubtfully. The truth was, she didn't really know what she meant.
"Yea. You're scared that we will be so magical in bed together..."
Olivia giggled and dropped his hand, shaking her head.
"...that the line between friendship and..." he gulped dramatically. "something more than that will become blurred, and you won't be able to get enough of me."
She continued to giggle at his playful way of explaining exactly how she was feeling. "That's pretty much it in a nut shell. I just think we should get to know each other a little more first."
Taking her hand once again, Fitz led her to the sofa where he plopped down, and gently tugged on her arm for her to sit beside him.
"What are we doing?" she asked with a confused expression.
"Getting to know you. The speed round." He clapped his hands together once and then rubbed his palms together. "Ready?"
Her wild laughter filled the cabin. She absolutely loved his sense of humor. "You are crazy! You know that?"
"I do. And now you know it too. One less thing for you to be mystified about." He told her with a grin. Bumping his shoulder against hers he said, "Look, I know things between us got pretty heated, but I won't say that I'm sorry because I'm not. I'm aware that we don't know each other very well, but the attraction between us is real and it's very strong. I'm telling you this because I want you to know what I'm feeling. We're too old to play games and if you want to get to know each other before things progress to the physical, then I'm fine with that. I'd love to get to know you better."
Olivia poked his shoulder with her index finger. "Are you real? Guys don't say things like that and mean it. Usually they use a lot of touchy feely words to get a girl into bed faster. Sadly, it usually works."
Fitz grinned at her and opened his mouth, pretending to start spouting some.
"That won't work here because now you know how I feel. I like that we can talk openly with each other. And you're right, we are too old to play games."
"Being painfully honest, can I ask if kissing is still something we can explore together?"
A smile spread across her face and Olivia averted her eyes to the floor as she nodded.
Fitz put a finger under her chin and lifted her gaze to his. "Are you telling me or the hardwood?"
"I'm sorry. I'm telling you. I've never had a conversation like this with a man before. It's very strange, but let's agree to keep the conversation honest, no matter what."
"Did you just add another rule, Livvie?" He asked with a grin.
"I think we both agreed to another rule. Forgive me for changing the subject, but why do you call me that?" She asked.
"What? Livvie?"
"Yea. My name is Olivia. No one calls me Livvie."
Fitz shrugged. "Good. I kinda like knowing that I'm the only one who calls you Livvie. Olivia just seems formal to me, and you come across as a down to Earth woman. I like that about you."
"That's a really sweet thing to say." She took his hand and scooted a little closer to him.
"Excuse me? I need to get to know you a little better before you come over here to violate my person."
She was grinning like an idiot as she put her arms around his neck and leaned over his body, knowing he would catch her in his arms. She was laying across his lap, looking up at his handsome face. This was going against everything they had just decided on, but she couldn't help it and he didn't seem to mind.
Fitz looked into her big chocolate brown eyes. They were sparkling with mischief while looking up at him adoringly at the same time. She really was beautiful. At least they had spoken their intentions to each other out loud. He was already developing strong feelings for her. Before leaning down to capture her lips in a velvety soft kiss, he said, "you're going to make this difficult, aren't you, Livvie?"
