The rest of the groups completed the exercise and the school day ended. Deku and I made my way to the gym that me and Deku had reserved for after school training. "So what are we doing? Sparring?" He asked.
"Later." I said as I stretched out when the door opened up again, standing there was two people. "Iida, Todoroki, what are you two doing here?"
"We wanted your help in our training." Iida said. "You clearly know what your doing if your this powerful from just training."
"And after what happened in Hosu, we know we have to get a lot stronger if we ever see that Saiyan again." Todoroki said.
I sighed, "It's more then just training, every time I heal from a serious injury I get stronger, it's part of what made my people so strong. I can teach you Ki control, but I can't do anything for your quirks." I looked them over. "It won't be easy."
"We are ready." Todoroki said.
Chapter 42: Preparing for the final exams
I settled down at my desk, the last few days of training had been paying off, much to the ire of Recovery Girl for the aftermath of our training sessions. "All right Class, you have two week before the Exams. They will consist of two parts, a written portion and a practical examination." Aizawa informed us. "Those that pass will be attending a two week summer training camp designed to bring your quirks to the next level."
This had the whole class excited. "Two full weeks of nothing but training." I grinned excitedly, the day passed by as usual and the Hero training and sparring after school only intensified. But the studying was that hardest part for me, but having three of the smartest students in the class help me was nice. Each day I pushed my self harder, studied longer.
About a week left before the final exams I was sparring with Deku while Iida and Todoroki tried to focus their Ki, Todoroki surprisingly had a lot of issues with it, his Ki contrary to his outward presence was incredibly unstable while Iida found it easier to focus his Ki through engines hyper charging them in a way. Then the door was flung open and in walked Mirko. "Hey kid!" She smiled, "I was in the area and decided to stop by. How are things?"
"Mirko, I'm doing fine." I smiled up at the hero as she walked in tossing me a water bottle, which I quickly downed.
"Sparing with your boyfriend I see. Don't mind if I tag in?" She slapped him on the back
"Oh, not at all." He said as he wiped the sweat from his face.
He went to sit down as I squared up with the hero, after the Zenkai I got from the Hosu incident I was just under her power level. I launched forward with a readied punch, I expected her to go on the defensive but instead she lunged at me, her powerful kick making contact with me before I reached her, I was sent into the ground. I pushed my self up dodging a second attack, and found my self on the back foot, being forced to block her attacks and dodge when I could. 'And she doesn't have access to Ki!' I side stepped and blasted backwards throwing a ki ball which she kicked right back at me, it impacted me in the chest throwing me against the wall.
I fell to my knee breathing hard as I was winded by that. But I had a grin on my face. I got to my feet and dropped back into my stance. "You aren't going to give up are you?" She smiled.
"Giving up just isn't in my blood." I lunged at her, my Ki aura exploding from my body. She dodged my attack and countered with a kick to my stomach which slammed me up into the roof where a Saiyan sized dent was left in the metal. I fell to the ground flat on my face. "Oooooowwwwwww." I shook the stars away as I sat up.
"I think I won that round." She laughed as she gave me a hand to my feet.
I nodded, "I'll win next time." I said with a smile as I went to sit down next to Deku.
"Fuma, if you don't mind me asking, if Romne is like a lot of Saiyans in that she's a blood thirsty warrior, why are you so different?" Mirko asked.
"Actually, when you think about it, I'm just as battle hungry as she is, just I found my self on the side of good, had I been born stronger I would be just another Saiyan Warrior. Hell I could have been assigned to the Lunar Hunters had things been different." I drank from a bottle. "But the main reason is my parents, my father was a old warrior who believed that if one had to take lives to cause as little misery as he could. He hated to see any form of life suffer but as he was a strong Saiyan he had no choice. He often said that if he could he would go back and protect those lives from himself. But just after I was born he was injured to a point where even a Saiyan couldn't fully recover. So he settled down and started a farm."
"What of your mother? What was she like?" Mirko sat next to me.
"She was a lot like you, actually. But she didn't have the Saiyan Battle lust that the rest of our kind were so proud of. She became a renowned hunter that brought back more food for our village then the government ever sent. And she would learn to cook these exotic foods while off world. She was the one that actually taught me Hunters Lock and my Star Arrow attack." I smiled thinking of my mother. "She never took me hunting off world, just some of the wild creatures that roamed near our village."
"Your parents sound like amazing people." Iida said, "I'm sure they are proud of you."
"They would have loved it here, so peaceful for the most part." I said.
"What of Celron… You said that he was dangerous. If he was raised like you then what happened?" Todoroki asked.
"He was born strong, Saiyans can be born weaker then some humans... like me... or as strong Mirko and only improve from there... My current power level is four thousand one hundred... Celron… he was born with a power level of nine thousand, only beaten by the kings own son a decade later. And those who are born powerful are seen as better Saiyans. To him... I was a waste." I frowned.
"Fuma." Deku grabbed my hand. "You aren't a..."
"You don't need to tell me that." I rolled my eyes. "But they are still my people."
This was meant to be a chapter based around The Lunar Hunters but I decided to save that for now. Leave a review of what you thought.
