A Powder Keg Explodes
Zack walked out of the building with a tense look in his eyes and Nick, who was making sure the Elf, who he now knows is named Tikka, saw this.
"Zack, where is everyone? We haven't even set a perimeter. I'm certain that pee-wee gangster saw the Wand." Nick stated as Zack got his gun ready to be fired when the time comes.
"And she is spooked. Says somebody's coming. Like- Like someone bad." He continued as Zack was pacing back and forth, taking deep breaths through his nose.
"What's wrong? You seem like you have bigger troubles." He grew concerned.
"You're right. Because we both do." Zack told him.
"What are you talking about?" Nick asked him, confused.
"Pollard, Hicks, Brown and Ching, they are going to kill either just you or the both of us so that they can have the Wand for themselves." Zack informed him of the situation. Nick's eyes widened, he was shocked to hear this, and knowing that Zack isn't someone who lies, he was getting worried.
"But why would they do that?" He asked him.
"Because they're greedy for its power and don't want us honest cops to stop them. And they thought they could use you as a scapegoat." Zack told him.
"This is bullshit!" Nick swore, but not loud enough for the officers inside the building to hear.
"Look, we don't know how long it'll be until they come out, but until then, you need to tell me the exact truth about what happened a week ago with the shooter." Zack added. Nick realised that this must've been what Zack was going to talk with him about in the vehicle.
"As you know, they think I let the shooter go because of clan politics. That isn't the case; I just had the wrong guy." Nick said. Zack was a bit surprised to hear this.
"What do you mean?" Zack asked, confused.
"They guy that shot you. I lost him in the crowd. I circled back, and I thought I had that fucking guy dead to rights. But it was a different kid. He was just tagging. And the troops were coming. Jacked up humans with guns looking for an Orc who'd shot a cop. You think that kid had a chance? They would've dropped him on the spot, so I did the right thing." Nick explained, fully what had truly happened. Zack now understood what really happened. Knowing that an Orc got up the ladder in the alley, Nick must've helped him up.
"So, even though you didn't see his face, you knew it wasn't the same guy because of his smell, right?" Zack wondered, knowing that their scent would've been the deciding factor.
"Exactly. Years of evolution haven't taken away our sense of smell. And he smelt different. What human jury would believe me?" Nick asked him.
"Good point. They'd say that he had Axe body spray, or some racist shit like that." Zack agreed, knowing that the word of an Orc wouldn't be fully trusted, even in a jury or court.
"Yeah, I'd have to deal with shit like that. The Orc that shot you, he got away." Nick then said right as Pollard, Ching, Hicks and Brown exited and stood there.
"Harloff! It's time." Pollard said. Zack's back was facing them all and he frowned, knowing that he had to take the next step and shoot them.
"Zack…." Nick trailed off, hoping that things don't go bad.
"All four standing there?" He asked Nick.
"Yeah." He answered.
"Your left to right, who?" He then asked.
"Brown, Hicks, Pollard and Ching." He said. Zack now had his hand on his gun and pumped himself up with adrenaline before he pulled his gun out and quickly turned around to shoot them all down.
Everything was in slow motion to him as he shot the bullets at them. He would aim directly at their chests and head, knowing that they would be severe shots. Pollard was shooting as well but he would miss by a huge amount. Once all the bullets were shot, Zack saw that Pollard was still kicking and so he walked up to him, reloaded and aimed his gun at his head. Pollard looked up to Zack, all bloodied up, choking on blood, hoping for some mercy.
"No, please. Don't." He begged, this made Zack growl at him.
"Why should you deserve mercy, you little piece of shit." He snarled and then took the killing shot. Nick had never seen anything like that. The accuracy from Zack and his level headedness was so otherworldly to him and to see him kill someone in cold blood was chilling.
"Zack?" He asked aloud, hoping that he was okay. Zack, himself, walked to the bag, which contained the Wand and walked back to Nick.
"I'm sorry you had to see that, Nick. If I didn't shoot them, they'd have killed us. I need you to call dispatch and tell them something." He said as he put the Wand in the back seat and leaned on the vehicle while taking deep breaths.
"Three-Adam-9. I got four officers down. KMA." He said on the radio to Dispatch and then got up to Zack and put his hand on his shoulder.
"This is bad." Nick muttered.
"And it'll get worse. Gangs will know of the Wand and we have to protect it." Zack informed him as a bunch of gangsters walked down the steps, which was noticed by Tikka.
"Jakoby? Jakoby, who are these people?" Tikka asked in fear, catching their attention, and they saw the gangsters coming to them.
"Shit. Put her in the truck." Zack ordered Nick and he did so, by grabbing Tikka and putting her in the back seat, while Zack grabbed the shotgun.
"Keep the Wand safe!" She begged. Zack cocked the shotgun and aimed it at the gangsters as a warning.
"What do you want, fuckers?" He warned them.
"Those cops there… they okay?" The one gangster said in the wheelchair with a bald head and tattoos, wearing silver and a football jersey.
"That's a lot of blood, homes." He then said.
"None of your concern or business." Zack told him as Nick stood by him and aimed his pistol at them.
"Maybe you should go over and give 'em a little mouth to mouth. Huh?" The gangster joked.
"This is an active crime scene. We haven't had beef, Poison. Just take your people home." Zack told him.
"Word on the street, there's a Wand in this hood. My hood. Altamira. Alta-fucking-mira, eh?" Poison explained as some gangsters muttered.
"So, when the little homies tell that the cops are shooting each other in my hood… makes me wonder. Hmm? Where's the Wand?" Poison then asked, clearly greedy for its uses.
"Just Ghetto rumours, mate. Do you really want to get blasted in the face over a rumour?" Zack threatened him.
"The Wand belongs to the people." Poison told him.
"To the barrio." A random gangster added.
"Get back! Homeboy. You heard me." Nick exclaimed, trying to intimidate them, but to no effect.
"It's mine, if I have to kill every fucking cop in LA." Poison stated with confidence.
"You just might have a chance, considering SWAT are 90 seconds out. Nick, get in the truck." Zack said, never taking his eyes off of Poison.
"Listen to your fucking master. Get in the truck." Poison mocked Nick, which got on his nerves.
"Fuck you." He warned him, wanting to just put a bullet hole in his head.
"Fuck you. What is that, a fuckin' Labradoodle you dipped in ink?" Poison mocked yet again. Nick stepped back, getting around to the driver's side.
"You shut the fuck up, Poison. He has no master and doesn't deserve one, unlike you." Zack told him as he backed up to the passenger side and opened the door, with the shotgun still aimed until he got in and closed the door.
"Windows up, now." Zack told Nick and they both pulled the windows up since they're bulletproof.
"Is a SWAT team really coming?" Nick asked.
"Not really. Just go!" Zack shouted as some gangsters got the hood of the truck and one of them hit the windshield with a crowbar. Nick started the truck up, driving forward and hit a parked car, causing enough force to throw the gangsters off. He then reversed as Tikka was talking in some Elvish. At the same time, two gangsters held onto the sides of the truck, by the doors, trying to smash the windows open. And some others started shooting at the truck.
The gangster on Zack's side took his gun out and shot the window, point blank, not knowing it was bulletproof.
"It's bulletproof, you dumb fuck!" Zack mocked him as he got swatted off by a parked truck.
The same thing happened to the other gangster right before Nick turned the truck around and threw another one of them off.
"Let's get the fuck out of here. Drive like the Devil's on your tail." Zack said and Nick pressed on the accelerator and drove away from the area.
As they were driving down the road, Zack looked at the side mirror and saw that a truck full of gangsters was catching up to them.
"Shit!" He swore as the truck rammed into them and then got shot at as they were being chased.
The truck was then able to cause the police truck to be on its side on the front as they're driving. It caused the window on Zack's side to be opened up a little, so he took advantage and poked the shotgun through and fired three shots, the third hit one of the shooters.
The police truck then hit a parked car, causing it to be straight, but it also caused the passenger door to be ripped off, leaving Zack vulnerable.
"Man these guys are persistent." Zack muttered in frustration. Nick couldn't help but agree.
They continued being pursued by the gangsters and Zack fired some more shots until he was out of shells.
"I'm out!" He said to Nick as he opened the glove compartment and grabbed the box of shotgun shells. Since he was able to be cool under pressure, he took some shells out and reloaded with ease.
Once he was finished, he got back to firing at them and hit the windshield, making their job of driving a bit harder.
Nick decided to ram the truck to deal some damage and this caused both trucks to be right up close to each other. A shooter was right at the passenger door and so he started to shoot but stopped when Zack grabbed the gun and punched the guy super hard, causing him to lose his grip and roll on the road hard.
The two trucks were then right next to each other and Zack took out his taser and pointed it right at the driver. He pulled the trigger and it connected with said driver, shocking him so hard he couldn't drive. Nick took advantage and rammed the truck making it collide with a van and it flipped from the force of impact.
Nick chuckled at the result.
They don't teach that at the academy." He quipped.
"Damn straight." Zack agreed with him and relaxed.
Nick continued driving but then Tikka was starting to freak out because of what the Wand is doing.
We have to turn back. Stop the car. Inferni! Inferni! Inferni!" She shouted.
"Calm the fuck down, woman!" Zack ordered but she didn't stop.
"She won't let it go!" She continued but then the Wand floated in mid air, freaking the duo out.
"What the fuck?!" Zack exclaimed as Tikka was flipping out.
When they drove in an underpass, the truck acted as though it crashed into some kind of invisible wall, causing the air bags to pop out, which smacked Nick and Zack their hands smacked on the railing separating them from the back seats and they were knocked unconscious.
Short, I know but this is a burst of action that starts off the night of intensity.
