It was late at night and I stood alone in the dorm kitchen, a pan of breakfast sausages cooking on the stove. "Should... I even be here?" I asked, my tail twisting in self loathing.
"No." I nearly jumped through the roof as Fuma snuck up on me.
"You scared me." I looked at the tailless Saiyans.
"Are you really a Saiyan?" She asked mockingly.
"Heh... not really." I looked back to the food. "I don't have the same potential... strength, hell I don't even have Zenkai's. My mother always said it was due to my father, but she never explained why. But... there was always one thing that stood out when I last saw her." I said. Not really talking to Fuma.
"And what is that?" she asked.
"She called me a half-breed. But... that can't be possible... right?"
Chapter 69: Provisional Exam
I sat on the bus, arms crossed as the rest of the class talked. "Hey Astero have you picked out a hero name yet?" Kirishima asked the small Saiyan next to him.
"Tech." he said as he looked at his wrist tablet, lines of code flowing down the screen in rapid speed, a cord connected to a baseball sized sphere. "It's short and simple. And it makes sense." His wrist pad flashed green and he pulled the cord. "Good... it's finally ready." he said to him self. I raised a eyebrow at that.
"Heh, why not short stack?" Bakugo asked.
"I can still transform into a Oozaru, Bakugo. Do you want to have a training session with me in that form?" I hid a small smirk from the small Saiyan's snarky threat.
"Bring it Monkey Boy!" I just shook my head at the antics.
'Half breed can talk smack.' I just sighed to myself before I looked at Deku, who was a nervous wreck. "What's wrong?" I asked him.
"Oh, just worried." He said with a start.
"Oh, what's there to be worried about? You are one of the most powerful beings on the planet." I said to him.
He looked away with a blush, "I'm nothing to you, I'm lucky to have this power. You earned yours..."
"What are you talking about? You earned all of your strength." I said catching him off guard. "You deserve to have your power, you aren't lucky to have it."
"I-I don't... Fuma... no... I don't." I knew this wasn't going to get through to him just yet.
"Deku, have faith in your self." I rested my head on his shoulder. "I do. After all, it takes a lot to stand up to a Saiyan elite. I still think of that moment."
Uraraka looked back at us, and held in a laugh. "Oh, you two are so cute."
"Shut up." I rolled my eyes.
The bus slowed down as it pulled up to a large stadium. We unloaded and grabbed our cases from under the bus. "Well it's UA." I turned around too look at a group of students led by a black haired boy clearly older then us. "It's so nice to meet you." He smiled. "We are students from Ketsubutsu High school."
I glared at him and his classmates. "Drop the act." I said. "You aren't going to fool me, I know we have a target on our backs." My harshness took my classmates by surprise, but it was getting less so as I called people out like this quite often.
"Fuma, no need for such rudeness." Iida said.
"I see, well you can't blame us for checking out the competition." The black haired boy shrugged, his eyes now with a more harsh serious look to them. "Guess we will see you inside then. I heard that only fifty percent of the applicants pass the exam."
"Fuma! Stop making more enemies for us!" Iida started to chew me out.
"Eraser, your student is so mean." We turned to look at a green haired woman with green and orange clothes.
"Ms. Joke. I wasn't expecting to see you here. So you took up teaching?" Aizawa said.
"Sure did, hey by the way we should get married." This took a few of the students a back.
"Absolutely not." This response of rejection just made her laugh.
"By the way I heard that you have a new student added to your kids." She looked at us, "Something about a child forced into a villainy? That caused quite a stir."
The two teacher talked a bit as Deku eyes widened as he started to fanboy as he went through his notes... wait... where did he get those?
"None of the other students are our allies either. We are on our own here. We have to pass this exam so that we can defend ourselves." I said. "We are a team in this."
"Speak for your self Monkey Girl." Bakugo stormed off with his small group.
Then a boy in a billed flat topped hat slammed his head into the ground with a bow. "PLUS ULTRA!" This startled a few of my classmates. When he stood up straight his face had some blood dripping down it. "I wanted to do that so much."But then he looked at Todoroki and got a sour look, but it quickly passed, "Inasa Yoarashi, first year of Shiketsu High School." Along with him were a few other students. A purple haired boy with narrowed eyes, a boy whose whole body was covered in hair, and a attractive blonde girl, but her eyes locked onto Deku in a way that I didn't like. Then Inasa turned to me. "I absolutely loved the passion you showed in the Sports festival." He held his hand out to shake. "Such fighting spirit is an inspiration."
I hesitantly shook it. "Thanks... I think?" Something about this guy threw me off, a sort of presence.
"Come on Inasa, we have to get going." The hairy student said.
"Right Nagamasa." He turned and left, shooting one last glare at Todoroki. "See you in the exam UA."
"Who was that?" Kirishima asked.
"Inasa Yoarashi, I remember him from the recommended student entrance tests. He scored the top spot in it." This took me aback, he was so good that he didn't need to take the entrance exam like the majority of bar Todoroki and Momo. And he scored top place in them.
"Then he is strong?" I asked.
"Almost certainly one of the strongest." Aizawa said, "But we aren't here to pick a fight with the second best Hero school. Stay focused on the prize, you need your provisional license. So go Plus Ultra."
Hey there mates. New chapter for all of you.
