Sarah Jane Adventures
A Yellow Christmas
Chapter Six
Poof, splat, The Doctor and Sarah Jane stopped any snowman they came across. Even Clara joined in, batting a few snowmen away with a large branch and the end of a car door.
Soon the trio pressed their way into the backyard. Breathing heavy Clara and Sarah Jane kept up with the Doctor. When Clara tripped over a cocoon, Sarah Jane was right there to help her. Both women smiled as they hunch down behind the mountain of cocoons that now line Sarah Jane's yard.
"The cleanup is going to be something else," Sarah Jane said.
"Well, at least we made it this far," Clara said.
"Yes, and Yes but we still need to get inside," The Doctor replied.
An idea struck Sarah Jane as she took a deep breath. She only hopes he was around to hear it.
"K-9 help us!" She shouted.
After a few moments, a familiar blasting sound reached the trio's ears. Clara peeked her head out to see the yellow snowmen moving toward the back door. The Doctor took a hold of her hand and she took Sarah Jane's. Soon the three of them were running and jumping over cocoons, ducking as the snowmen spew out their goo.
As they made it to the door Clara spotted a time metal dog blasting a laser at the yellow snowmen Clara could only smile.
But the moment The Doctor stepped inside; Clara felt herself being pushed. Snapping her head around Clara's eyes widen for right behind Sarah Jane stood a yellow snowman that was at least ten feet tall. Sarah Jane smiled as the large snowman dragged her back outside.
Clara reached out for Sarah Jane, only to have her place her sonic lipstick in Clara's hand.
"You need to make it to the attic and Jam that into Mr. Smith's console," Sarah Jane instructed.
The Doctor was about to run and help, but Sarah Jane merely shook her head.
"Go K-9 and I will keep them busy," Sarah Jane said.
With concern in his eyes, the Doctor grabs Clara's hand and ran through the kitchen.
With a blast from K-9 Sarah Jane was free. She stood tall as the snowman threw his head back and screamed. Soon Sarah Jane and K-9 were standing before a wave of yellow snowmen along with their leader.
"Are you ready K-9?" Sarah Jane asked.
"Affirmative Mistress," K-9 replied.
Taking a deep breath, Sarah Jane charged forward with K-9 right beside her. If this was her last stand, she was going to make it worth it.
Walking out of the kitchen, the Doctor and Clara entered the living room. Using his sonic as a torch, he spotted the stairs, keeping a firm grip on Clara's hand as the two of them headed to the stairs.
"This seems too easy," The Time Lord said.
Soon the windows shattered and the front door blows off its hinges as dozens of snowmen bounce in the front door. The Doctor and Clara jumped back as they sprayed their goo along the walls and the floor, it spreading to the couch and chairs.
"You just had to jinx it, didn't you," Clara said.
Backing up more and more, the two of them finally made it to the bottom of the steps. Clutching his sonic screwdriver tightly, The Doctor let go of Clara's hand. She looked to the Time Lord, who merely glances back at her with a smile.
"Looks like it's up to you… be careful," The Doctor said.
Clara forced her tears to dry up, for this wasn't the time for them. As she watched the Doctor run to-ward the snowmen, she bolted right up the stairs.
"Be safe, you three," Clara whispered.
On the second floor Clara kept running, her feet up to her legs felt as if they were on fire. But when the hallway windows shattered, she glanced behind her and ran even faster, for now she was running from yellow snowbirds.
As the birds grew closer Clara made a hard right, she smiled she when saw them slam right into the wall but it didn't take long for another wave to follow. This time Clara made it to the attic and slammed the door shut. Locking the door, she backed up as the birds contained slamming against the door. A sigh escaped her lips this would hold them back, but she didn't know how long it would hold them.
Peering around in the dark Clara's eyes dart to the wall that was a mere few inches in front of her there was Mr. Smith his light was dim with little power left to function. Looking down at the sonic lipstick she took a deep breath and just as she ran toward the supercomputer she covered her face as the window shattered and there was the head offer a massive yellow snowman looking at her with its black coal eyes. But her ears picked up the massive snowman screamed as a familiar voice shouted from her outside.
"Hurry!" Sarah Jane shouted.
Clara's eyes narrowed as she made a run for it, the snowman mouth filled up and spew it goo.
Flipping over the table, some yellow goo got splashed on her leg and started spreading. Limping toward Mr. Smith, Clara felt around on the console. The moment she spotted the socket, she turned on the sonic lipstick and jammed it right inside.
"Please work," She whispered.
At first, nothing happened, but then a few seconds later the console lit up and the screen of the supercomputer lit up. Clara's eyes lit up as the yellow goo upon her leg became nothing more but regular snow. Soon Mr. Smith's screens read power was up to 100%.
"Sonic wave now beginning," Mr. Smith bellowed.
Soon a massive wave emulated from Mr. Smith, bathing the house before reaching outside. It then spread around the world, engulfing the world in a protective sonic blanket. With the yellow enzyme gone, the once dangerous yellow snow returned to its soft, cold white nature.
Downstairs The Doctor sighed happily, for the snowmen were nothing but puddles of water. Wandering to the kitchen, a heavy breathing Sarah Jane Smith leans against the table with a blink K-9. His battery was low, but he noticed Sarah trying to keep herself upright.
Walking up to his best friend, he took a hold of her hand The Doctor and Sarah Jane headed through the kitchen and living room and up the stairs.
"The world is safe once again," The Doctor said.
"Clara is something else," Sarah Jane said.
The Doctor merely nodded as the two of them continued on to the attic.
A vast sigh escaped Clara's lips as she flopped down in the chair by the desk. After a few minutes, The Doctor and Sarah Jane emerged. He helped Sarah Jane sit down on the couch. She turned to Clara and gave her a smile.
"Good job," Sarah Jane said.
"Thanks," Clara replied.
The Time Lord took one look around the room before looking back down at his best friend. His eyes grew soft as he noticed the multiple cuts and bruises all over her body. Sarah Jane winced as she stared back at The Doctor with a smile through her pain.
"I'm fine," Sarah Jane said.
"Hm you say that, but I still worry," The Doctor replied.
"I know… so what now?" Sarah Jane asked.
"Well, you stay here and rest me and Clara will be right back," The Doctor said.
Sarah Jane merely closed her eyes and gave him a slight nod. The Doctor stood there for a moment before heading to the door with Clara right beside him. They were almost at the bottom of the steps when Clara had to ask the questions.
"Where are we going?" Clara asked.
" To give Sarah a proper Christmas," The Doctor replied.
" I couldn't agree more," Clara said, followed with a smile.
