I made up this story based on the movie,
THEY LIVE
They Live is a 1988 American science-fiction, horror film written and directed by John Carpenter, based on the 1963 short story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" by Ray Nelson, Starring Roddy Piper, Keith David, and Meg Foster. The film follows an unnamed drifter who discovers through special sunglasses that the ruling class are aliens concealing their appearance and manipulating people to consume, breed, and conform to the status quo via subliminal messages in mass media.
What if Naruto was in Roddy's position? But in a different standout. The timeline is in the Shippuden Arc. Naruto wakes up in the Hot Water Village, with no memory of how or why is he in the Hot Water Village? He notices that he has a note that was in his traveling backpack, where it tells him that he needs to be in the Cloud Village. The note informs that the people and the ninja living in the Village are acting strange. The economy is rising, mission ranks have more money, and people are wearing golden watches? Something is not right. He goes to the Cloud Village, not wearing his attire, and not wearing his headband. Naruto goes there to find some shades that reveal what is going on, which escalates to him and his fellow tail beast siblings to fend for themselves, and save the village from an unknown threat that can rule the world of Shinobi.
So with that, let's begin the story.
Oh! I forgot to say that I do not own the series and the movie too!
Chapter Four: The Truth
Naruto wakes up from his nap, puts on his disguise, and leaves his house. He is now holding a box with the shades that he saw, in an alleyway, where he hides them in a bin. He takes one of the glasses and holds on to them to check if they would work. He is now walking in the streets of the Cloud Village, still holding onto the shades. 'Nada' decided to try on the shades and see what it would show him. When he is wearing the shades, he sees nothing but gray. He thought he was going crazy, but when he took them off, he still sees color. 'Nada' begins to wonder what else can the glasses see what he cannot see. He is now looking at a big sign that is promoting new weapons for the 'Elite' Ninja, but when he puts on the shades, the big sign now reads, OBEY. 'Nada' is shocked and confused to see what is being shown with these shades. He takes them off and keeps on walking. He is now in the center of the Village with billboards, posters, signs, and advertisements. 'Nada' puts on the shades again to see that everything now has messages that read, CONSUME, BREED AND REPRODUCE, SUBMIT, WATCH TV, NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT, STAY ASLEEP, CONFORM, THIS IS YOUR GOD, and much more. 'Nada' is stunned by what he is seeing. He goes to a little shop where they sell magazines, books, newspapers, and more. They too read the same message, and it keeps on repeating the same thing. 'Nada' keeps on looking at his surroundings and notices that none of the people are aware of what he is seeing. Yugito and B are somewhere, looking at Naruto who is wearing the shades. They believe that if he keeps on looking hard enough, then he will understand why the rebels were trying to take down the Greedy and The Raikage. As he kept on investigating with picking out one of the magazines, a businessman appears while he takes one of the newspapers. When 'Nada' looks at the man, he is shocked to see his appearance as an alien.
Business Man(Alien): What's your problem?
'Nada' is at a loss of words when he saw the Business Man who appears as a human but hiding in that form is a hideous alien. The Business now realizes that 'Nada' is finally beginning to wake up and know what is happening. He tries to keep it cool and continue to ask 'Nada' his same question.
Business Man(Alien): I said what's your problem?
'Nada' doesn't know what to do since he cannot attack or inform the villagers because they will look at him like he is crazy. The altercation ends with the cashier asking 'Nada' a question
Cashier: Sir, you gonna pay for that?
'Nada' is at a loss in thought until the cashier asks him about him buying something.
Nada: Nah. Sorry for bothering you.
He puts away the magazine, keeps on looking at the direction of the Business Man, while he starts a convo with the cashier. As the cashier was collecting the money, the Business Man now looks at 'Nada' to let him know that he needs to keep his thoughts and what he has seen shut. 'Nada' looks at the money and notices that it reads, THIS IS YOUR GOD. 'Nada' fleas the shop while the Business Man keeps on looking at him walking away. 'Nada' can't begin to describe what he has seen. Subliminal Messages, Aliens!? Now he is beginning to think that there is more to look to find out what is going on in our village. He spots a hair salon where a few women were also aliens in disguise as one of the villagers. He keeps on walking throughout the village where he is now at a store of goods. In it, are can goods, food, water, drinks, supplies, items, and many more. 'Nada' scouts at the store, where he spots a few aliens who are either talking to regular villagers, buying what is necessary, talking about other things, and many more. 'Nada' looks at the items that still read the same message from everywhere in the Cloud Village. He spots a TV where an alien disguised as an interviewer, begins to talk about the things that are happening in this village, how it is more successful, how it is the best Village with the money and the leaders too. 'Nada' does not buy into the crap the alien is saying, but some are agreeing with what he is saying. 'Nada' laughs at his statements while an old lady shoves him off of her direction. She looks at 'Nada' which he sees as an alien. Then, and conversation follows.
Old Lady(Alien): Ugh! Excuse me?
'Nada' decides to mock her while acting like he does not know her.
Nada*smugly*: You know, you like if your head has fallen into a trash can a long time ago lady.
Old Lady(Alien)*Offended*: Well I'll be.
'Nada' now looks at another lady who is not an alien and uses her to compare the old lady.
Nada: You, you're okay. Her, pretty fucking ugly!
The old lady is now starting to get really annoyed with the 'Nada' attitude until he continued.
Nada: You know, when I am not wearing these glasses on, everything is all good, nothing to worry about. But when I put them on, boom everything is shit and she looks like shit!
The guy in front of the cashier is having enough of 'Nada's outburst.
Cashier: Hey man! You got to get out of here or I'll call the ANBU to get you out of here!
'Nada' is not phased at the threats and keeps on acting like a jerk.
Nada: Oh you'll call the ANBU on me? Well, you better go call a face surgeon to fix her ugly face-
Naruto falls onto a stack of goods, while his disguise is starting to wear off. When he looks at the old lady, she speaks to her watch and says...
Old Lady(Alien): I got one that can SEE!
Naruto is now looking at the aliens who are informing the others and their leaders that Naruto Uzumaki is here at the Cloud Village. They keep on repeating the same information when Naruto is walking slowly at the front entrance of the store.
Naruto*terrified and confused*: I don't like this one bit. Not one Bit.
Naruto finally leaves the store where he spots a lady who is an alien, looking at herself in a big glass window at a big company. Naruto insults her until he was captured by the ANBU Guards. They kept on holding him until he stops and a conversation begins.
ANBU GUARD-11(Alien): Now kid, let us not get crazy, and just talk it out. We don't want any trouble with you Uzumaki.
Naruto: Oh yeah, I rather sell myself to that snake pedo than being with you ugly freaks.
ANBU GUARD-11(Alien): Kid, where did you get those glasses?
Naruto: Toothfairy.
ANBU GUARD-11(Alien): You don't say.
As they were staring at each other, another ANBU Guard appears.
ANBU GUARD-43(Alien): We got him.
Naruto is now cornered and he needs to find a way to get out. So he begins to act arrogant.
Naruto: Looks like you haven't shaved a while. Looking like sacks of shits. Amazingly, you freaks are fooling everybody but me.
ANBU GUARD-43(Alien): Well you ain't gonna look much since you know what is going on. Now kid, come with us, we'll settle this and make sure to not mention this. Just calm down, and we will work things out.
Naruto notices that they are reaching their Swords and Shurikens so he first closes lines the first anbu, knocks out the other with the Taijutsu training he learned from Rock Lee and Might Guy during his time as a Genin. He grabs a Shuriken and throws it at the neck of the guard and kills him.
Naruto: Ha! You still end up dying, just like the rest of us-
He didn't get to finish when the now conscious Guard was trying to get the upper vantage and sneak attack Naruto. Naruto moves away from the guard, grabs another pair of Shurikens, and throws at the direction of the heart of the guard with no shield. He is now dead. Naruto gets some of the weapons and holds onto them to face off the aliens himself, and try to save the Cloud Village. He thinks this is stupid, but he cannot let the village fall from the evil that could end life as a shinobi. When both Yugito and B saw what Naruto can do, they believe that he is the one that could save their village and end this nightmare for good.
What would happen if Naruto decides to take matters into his own hands?
