Book Three: Chapter 5: The Color Clock Car
One morning, the group was walking along the bridge when Hazel spoke her mind.
"My legs are tired.", Hazel groaned.
"Yeah, let's take a nap on a rusty, outdoor bridge when we're almost home.", Simon spoke sarcastically.
"Okay.", Hazel responded before she then laid down on the bridge and started sleeping.
"Well, to be fair, I don't think any of us taught her about Sarcasm.", Jesse spoke.
"No, Hazel, get up.", Simon spoke before Tuba approached him.
"Hazel is tired. It is nap time.", Tuba spoke before Simon only laughed in response before getting stern again.
"Move. Before I make you move.", Simon threatened before they growled at each other only for Tulip and Grace to move between them.
"All right, guys. Break it up.", Tulip spoke up.
"Simon is right. We are too close to the apex to slow down now, but Tuba's got a point. We've been going hard for days and Hazel's just a little girl.", Grace spoke before Tuba puffed her nose.
"So, we'll do both. Tuba, you carry Hazel while she naps, but we press on. No stopping. All right?", Grace suggested.
"Okay. That works.", Lake agreed with a shrug.
"Hazel does look cute while she naps.", Miko guessed.
"How would you know that?", Five puzzled.
"I watch as she sleeps for a few minutes.", Miko responded before Tuba nodded in agreement.
Then, Simon gave a scoff before pressing onward with Grace as the others look back before Tulip and Gummi turned and saw Tuba placing her fingers below Hazel's head, lifting her head up with a grin before Hazel grinned, climbed on top of her arm and yawned as she rested on Tuba's arm, giving a sad smile to Tuba and Hazel before Tulip and Gummi turned just in time for her and the others to overhear Simon's plan to Grace.
"The null's more hinderance than help. Let's get rid of her now.", Simon whispered, making the others gasp in worry.
"No. Not with Zenith and Polaris hunting us down. If we do that, then we'll only put ourselves in for a world of hurt.", Grace responded as Simon got out his radar and saw a big red cluster on it.
"Since when do you care about that?", Simon asked.
"Since they attacked us in that shifter car and sicced a glitch on us, not to mention the fact that they also separated Amber from the others, that's since when! If Tulip and the others weren't there with us, we would've...! Look, the point is, we'll have the rest of the apex to help soon enough. That is..., if we can get to them first before they do.", Grace assured.
"Hmph. Bet you I can take 'em solo.", Simon assured.
"No, Simon.", Grace refused, shaking her head.
"Is that a dare?", Simon asked before Grace gave a stern look.
"No.", Grace refused sternly before pressing onward and opening the door to the next car with the other group looking on in worry before stepping forward, not knowing that Zenith and Polaris were on top of the previous car, looking from above.
"Don't worry, Simon. You can relax. We're coming for you sooner than you think and I have my own plans to finish the job.", Zenith smirked.
"Don't forget that we're here for the girl as well. If I'm going to tell you everything about my plan, you have to offer something valuable in return.", Polaris spoke.
"This case isn't closed until I say it is. No matter the cost.", Zenith responded.
Meanwhile, Tulip, Jesse, Lake, Atticus, Alan Dracula, One-One, Miko, Five, Amber, Grace, and Simon were now inside a sort of room with a bridge, a staircase, a ramp, red blocks in all kinds of shapes, a castle-like podium, and a clock that showed only the colors red, orange, yellow, green, and indigo before they overheard someone making a bugle sound and looking down to notice a small, red clock with a white bow tie and a similar faceplate as the main clock.
"It's red o'clock! Welcome, friends, and future friends, to the Color Clock! You can call me Roy because I'm your boy.", Roy greeted with a giggle.
"Uh..., okay.", Jesse spoke.
"I got this. That sounds fun, Roy. What's the deal with the exit?", Grace asked.
"Oh, I can't tell you. See, it's my job to keep the way out a secret.", Roy responded.
"All right, but how long can you do that?", Jesse asked with a grin, raising his eyebrow.
Sure enough, Roy quickly found himself unable to keep the way out a secret.
"You'll have you use teamwork if you want to solve the puzzle! Gah! I've said too much.", Roy spoke, covering his mouth.
"Uh-oh. Looks like the door's locked. Literally.", Tulip spoke.
"Ugh. We've got another key car.", Grace groaned.
"Sounds like a good opportunity to put Teamwork to good use.", Glad One grinned.
"I know he told us to use teamwork to unlock it, but how do we use it?", Amber puzzled before the color clocked ticked down to the color orange before the red blocks faded away with the orange blocks appearing before Roy made the bugle sound again just as Hazel woke up, rubbing her eyes.
"It's orange o'clock! Hello, and welcome to the Color Clock! You can call me Roy, 'cause...", Roy, who is now orange instead of red began.
"You are our boy...", Tuba interrupted, having heard it before only once.
"Huh. Guess word gets around fast.", Roy spoke before noticing something with a gasp and hopping off.
"Wowee, wow, wow! A team of 13?!", Roy spoke excitedly.
"We're not a team.", Simon and Tuba responded in unison.
"And for the record, it'd be 14, counting Gummi.", Tulip responded, petting Gummi as he squeaked.
"14?! That's even better! Word to the wise? Teamwork begins with two people trusting each other." Roy spoke before realizing that he gave a spoiler.
"Oh, spoiler! Oh, I've said too much!", Roy spoke before then walking away and rolling down the stairs.
"So, what do you think, One-One?", Tulip asked.
"Well, I think he seems like a good sort.", Glad One responded.
"But in terms of wackiness? Barking mad.", Sad One added.
"That much, we can agree on, One-One.", Simon responded.
"All right, looks like we're gonna have to deal with some Grade-A denizen garbage to get out of here. So, let's split up and make it quick. Simon, you're with me.", Grace suggested just as Hazel walked up to Grace and placed her hand on her glove.
"But I wanna be with you. So Simon and Tuba can be...", Hazel began before stopping for a moment, motioning her to get closer, and then whispering.
"So Simon and Tuba can be friends.", Hazel whispered.
"Uh...all right. Hazel's with me.", Grace spoke before Simon groaned.
"So, I'm stuck with Tuba?!", Simon groaned.
"No. I'm stuck with you.", Tuba responded as Hazel ran to Tuba.
"It's a good kind of stuck.", Hazel grinned.
"If it makes you feel any better, Simon, we'll go with you.", Amber assured.
"Valid point, there. But I think the rest of us will have to pick who's going with and split up as well.", Atticus stated before Tulip put her hands on her chin.
Later, Tulip, Gummi, Lake, Jesse, and Miko were revealed to be with Grace and Hazel as they climbing up a big, yellow pyramid-like staircase as Grace climbed up before the rest turned around to notice Roy, who is now yellow-colored.
"Why don't you like Roy?", Hazel asked before Grace helped her up as Tulip, Jesse, Lake, and Miko climbed up as well.
"Well, because Roy's a Null.", Grace responded, making Tulip give a glaring grunt at her.
"What does that mean?", Hazel asked.
"Null. It means nothing. Not even a zero.", Grace responded.
"And let me guess. You read it in a book.", Jesse sighed.
"You got it.", Grace responded before climbing up another stair and reaching her hand out for Hazel, who turned around and looked back at Roy.
"Is it different than a denizen?", Hazel asked.
"Uh, Null, denizen, same thing.", Grace responded.
"But doesn't it occur to you that it's a really bad label for denizens everywhere?", Miko asked.
"Yeah. Not all of them are bad.", Jesse responded.
"What's wrong with Nulls?", Hazel asked.
"You can't trust them. You never know what they'll do.", Grace responded.
"But...have you ever gotten to know one?", Hazel asked.
"I don't need to, Hazel. I can just tell, okay?", Grace responded.
"But...Tuba's good.", Hazel responded.
"Oh, well, Tuba's one of the good ones.", Grace responded.
"Like Atticus and Alan Dracula?", Hazel asked.
"Yeah. Like them.", Grace grinned with a slight blush as she helped Hazel up.
"In fact, I think the real bad guys here are Zenith and Polaris.", Tulip responded.
"Who are they?", Hazel asked.
"Well, Zenith is the man wearing a black robe and Polaris is the guy with a green coat and purple feathers. Either way, they're really bad men who are out to get rid of us because they see what we're doing here as evil, chaotic, and very destructive for the train.", Grace responded.
"But how is it bad?", Hazel puzzled.
"Exactly. He even released a glitch on us to try and get rid of us the first time we met.", Grace responded.
"What's a Glitch?", Hazel puzzled.
"Well, it's kinda like a level 10 null, but way more mindless and destructive to everyone, Nulls included.", Grace responded.
"So, basically, a pixelated monster.", Miko added.
"Uh, yeah. Like that...", Grace agreed a bit nervously before her mouth suddenly grew into a beak, making Tulip, Gummi, Jesse, Lake, and Miko gasp as they noticed.
"Now, how about some fun?", Grace asked before Hazel got in front of her and both slid down the yellow slide.
"Did you just see that?! She's becoming a turtle person!", Miko exclaimed.
"Yeah, you're right. Her new beak even looks like a turtle's.", Tulip agreed as Gummi squeaked and rubbed his stubs against his nose for a moment.
"So, what do we do?", Jesse asked.
"We need to keep an eye on her for any other changes.", Lake suggested.
"Great idea. So, let's check it out, sauerkraut!", Miko agreed.
"Sauerkraut?", Jesse puzzled.
"Figure if speech I made up! I'll workshop it! Let's go!", Miko responded as she went down the slide before the rest followed down the slide as the clock chimed before the yellow parts disappeared and the green parts appeared in their place.
Meanwhile, Tuba was walking forward when she bumped into the pole on top with Roy, now green, on top of the pole as he made the bugle sound again.
"It's green o'clock! Excited to meet you all for the first time.", Roy spoke as Tuba sighed and moved past him.
"But it wasn't the first time, though.", Sad One spoke.
Just then, after Tuba suddenly got stuck, much right her puzzlement, Simon spoke up as he and Amber were apparently being squeezed.
"Will you move?", Simon asked.
"I'm getting kinda squashed here.", Amber added before Tuba sighed and moved back, giving Simon and Amber some space as the former moved forward first with a dash toward the rock-climbing wall just as Tuba, Atticus, and Alan Dracula noticed something else.
"Do you wish to head up the ramp with us?", Atticus asked.
"Uh..., No thanks. We'll meet you up top, though.", Amber assured.
"Very well. Suit yourself.", Atticus responded before he, Alan Dracula, and One-One went for the ramp while Five, Amber, and Tuba went up the rock-climbing wall.
"Why not take the ramp?", Tuba asked.
"It is highly recommended.", Atticus added as he, Alan Dracula, and One-One caught up.
"What are you even talking about? There's no ramp. Just let me lead.", Simon responded.
"You are a child. Even Bugle was more mature than you.", Tuba commented as she stepped forward.
Then, Simon stopped at a corner before turning to the right and spotting a green key at the center podium.
"Yes! Got it.", Simon grinned as he got the key.
"Finally!", Amber grinned before Simon noticed a crucial detail.
"Ugh, the key is green! How are we supposed to get this to the red door?", Simon spoke frustratedly before the clock chimed and the green parts were soon replaced with indigo-colored parts, especially a cage in the same color with Tuba, Simon, Atticus, Alan Dracula, One-One, Five, and Amber trapped inside as Roy made another bugle sound.
"It's Blurple o'clock!", Roy spoke.
"'Blurple'? I thought it was more like an indigo.", Amber puzzled.
"Does it really matter? We're prisoners in a cage, now, anyway.", Sad One responded before Simon tried to pry the bars away.
"Stop it, Simon! It's no use.", Five spoke.
"You don't know that.", Simon retorted.
"Actually, Simon, Five does have a point. I'm not even sure I could squeeze through the bars.", Atticus spoke up.
"Step aside. And please, cover your ears.", Tuba warned.
Then, the others went behind Tuba and covered their ears with Alan Dracula shrinking his ears down to the point that it looks as though he had no ears at all before the gorilla then took a deep breath and let out a mighty roar, breaking apart the cage parts, freeing the others, who uncovered their ears.
"Hey. We're free.", Amber grinned.
"Hooray for freedom!", Glad One cheered.
"See? Teamwork begins with two people trusting each other.", Roy, who is now indigo-colored, spoke as he cartwheeled past the others.
"Roy is at a 10. And I need him to be at about a 6.", Tuba commented.
"Don't we all?", Amber responded with a grin before she and the others laughed, especially Simon.
"So, uh, who's Bugle?", Simon asked.
"Bugle is...was my daughter. And you...already know about the sabertooth wolf glitch that attacked. I'm, uh...lucky Hazel came into my life.", Tuba grinned in response.
"And Alan Dracula, too, right?", Glad One asked.
"Yes. Even Alan Dracula.", Tuba replied before the group all smiled.
Suddenly, the clock chimed before the indigo parts disappeared with red parts appearing back in sight.
"It's red o'clock!", Roy shouted after making a bugle call with Grace, Hazel, Tulip, Gummi, Jesse, Lake, and Miko running up the ramp up toward the exit door.
"Door's back! Any luck with the key?", Grace asked.
"Yes and no! We need the clock to be green!", Simon responded.
"I went down a slide and it was fun!", Hazel shouted.
"Good for you, Hazel!", Amber shouted in response.
"Come on, Tuba.", Simon spoke before noticing that Tuba, Atticus, and Alan Dracula were moving as if they were in a green maze.
"Let it be known, I do not enjoy mazes.", Tuba spoke.
"Maze? But the only maze was green.", Simon spoke.
"Oh! Watch your head, there!", Atticus warned before Tuba bonked herself one the head and rubbed where she was bonked.
Then, as the rest looked back to a red ramp with a railing, Five, Simon, and Amber realized something.
"You're both colorblind!", Five shouted.
"Red and green look the same to you guys!", Simon realized.
"Just like a dog! Uh, no offense, Atticus.", Amber added.
"Being colorblind is nothing to be ashamed of.", Sad One added.
"Hm.", Tuba shrugged.
"Oh, none taken, Amber.", Atticus responded before she, Simon, Five, and One-One turned back to see the clock and turned back.
"Tuba, you, Atticus, and A.D. get that key! We'll help you three through the maze.", Simon shouted before he and the others ran up the stairs.
Then, Atticus and Tuba nodded before all three continued through the "maze" with Simon, Five, Amber, and One-One caught you with the rest just as Tuba found the "key".
"Got it.", Tuba spoke, holding it up.
Then, Simon fired his harpoon lack at a red wall near Tuba, who picked Atticus up before climbing up the ropes as Alan Dracula stretched his legs and made his way over to the others. Just as Alan Dracula did, however, Simon noticed that Grace's mouth had grown into a beak, making him give a loud gasp.
"Grace, what happened to you?!", Simon gasped.
"What do you mean?", Grace puzzled before getting out her pocket mirror, opening it, and then giving a short scream up noticing what Simon saw himself.
"What's going on? And since when did you have that beak? And your skin.", Hazel puzzled as she felt her now scaley skin.
"What happened to your skin?", Hazel asked worriedly.
"I-I don't know.", Grace responded just before Amber noticed Tuba's hands appearing in the edge.
"Guys, look! There's Tuba!", Amber spoke, pointing toward her just as the gorilla climbed up the edge.
"We'll work it out later.", Simon spoke before running up to Tuba and helping her up to join with the others.
Afterwards, Tuba then inserted the "key" into the lock, opening it, and cause all the orange, yellow, green, and indigo parts to appear as well, overlaying with the red parts before the crowd cheered just as Roy spoke up, this time, white with an orange bow tie, his arms and legs now being multi-colored, and his voice now sounding more hunky.
"Hahaha! You did it! Hooray for teamwork.", Roy spoke.
"Hooray, indeed.", Glad One agreed.
"Also, hi, I'm Roy, I'm your boy, and I don't believe we've met.", Roy greeted.
"Now, that is a 6.", Amber spoke just as the green light from before past by the others again before the car suddenly shook, worrying both passengers and denizens alike.
And as if that wasn't the worse part, Zenith and Polaris were also spotted near the entry door as they struggled to keep their balance and succeed before the former gave a glare.

"Oh, no.", Miko spoke in worry.
"Zenith found us!", Grace exclaimed.
"That's right, and I've brought an old friend with me along for the trip. Maybe most of you know him.", Zenith smirked in response, holding out a mirror before aiming it at Lake, making her gasp before Bane suddenly popped out from the mirror, shard pistols in hand.
"Well, well, well, sliver. It's been an unbelievably long time.", Bane smirked.
"You brought Bane here?!", Grace exclaimed.
"A good thing he did. The last time we met, I nearly lost my life. Needless to say, that sliver was a lot more than I bargained for. But now, I'm prepared.", Bane smirked.
"And I think the question here is...are you?", Polaris spoke as he walked up and got out a dagger from his jacket before launching it toward Simon, who gasped.
"Simon, look out!", Grace shouted as she ran in to protect Simon before the dagger struck her instead.
But what was really surprising was the fact that the dagger only fell to the ground with no evidence of any blood spilled on it.
Then, Simon opened his eyes to see not only Grace still bracing herself, but also something else surprising before she cautiously opened her eyes.
"Huh? Why didn't it hurt?", Grace puzzled.
"I've got this one.", Bane spoke before getting out his pistols and then firing them at Grace.
And while all of them did hit, they had no effect as they grazed her shell by only an inch as Grace turned and saw her shell with another shocked gasp before Bane growled, putting his pistols away.
"Tenacious, isn't she?", Bane growled.
"Huh. The one thing these changes are good for.", Grace grinned.
"Come on, Grace. Let's get out of here!", Simon urged as he and Grace ran for the exit before Zenith growled angrily and turned to Polaris and Bane.
"Faster! They're getting away!", Zenith shouted just as Simon opened the door before Grace, Amber, Atticus, Alan Dracula, One-One, Tulip, Gummi, Jesse, Lake, Miko, Five, Tuba, and Hazel ran out.
As they did, however, only Tuba and Hazel stopped after feeling the bridge moving with Grace and the others turning around to notice the bridge separating like before.
"Stop running, Apex! You have no chance of escape!", Zenith shouted as he, Polaris and Bane neared them.
"Throw Hazel across!", Simon shouted before Tuba nodded in determination.
"No, wait!", Hazel shouted just before the wheels latched onto the car and started going up slowly.
"We've got you, Hazel, I promise!", Grace shouted.
Then, Hazel whispered in worry before Tuba shushed her gently and then gave her her satchel just as Zenith turned to Bane.
"Grab her, Bane.", Zenith spoke.
"Hey, now. Don't you know the thing about teamwork?", Roy asked before Zenith only groaned and pushed him back with his foot.
"Go!", Zenith shouted before Bane made a dash for Tuba and Hazel only for the gorilla to toss the girl up into the air as she screamed before landing in Grace's arms as she and Amber grinned only for them, Tulip, and Gummi to notice Tuba dangling from the side of the car as Tulip gave a worried look.

"Oh, no.", Amber spoke worriedly before Zenith and Polaris joined Bane, who towered over the poor gorilla.
"Cleanliness is an obsession of mine. When someone contaminates me with their filth, I lose control. It's never gone quite this far before, though.", Polaris stated just as Zenith presses his foot firmly onto Tuba's right hand.
"You animals need to get back to your cages.", Zenith spoke.
"Tuba!", Hazel shouted.
"Get to the next car! I'll go back for Tuba.", Simon responded before Grace gave a determined nod and took Hazel inside.
"You better stay with the others, Gummi. This could get risky.", Tulip urged before he squeaked in compliance and hopped away with only Tulip, Lake, and Amber outside with Simon afterwards.
"Come on!", Tulip urged before Simon launched his magnetic harpoons toward the car just as Tulip grabbed onto Amber's hand and jumped before the magnetic harpoons hit the top of the car nearest to the exit door.
"Huh?", Zenith puzzled before Tulip and Amber landed, knocking Zenith and Polaris down just before turning around and walking up to Tuba with Simon.
"It's okay.", Amber assured before Tuba gave a hopeful grin, which was answered with lifts from Amber and Simon.
Of course, seeing as the car was moving up, there was some difficulty.
"Ngh! Come on, already!", Simon grunted before he and Amber finally lifted Tuba back up.
"Thank you.", Tuba thanked before Polaris was the first to recover and saw Lake and Bane having a bout as he was firing shard pistols at Lake from the other side.
"Lake, watch out!", Simon urged before she nodded and used her gauntlet to use a speed boost in order to dodge the shards.
It lasted for a moment until Shard ran out of shards to fire as they were scattered across the outside of the car near the exit, making him grunt in frustration, peeving Polaris off as he got up and walked behind him.
"Teamwork begins with two people trusting each other.", Simon grinned before noticing Polaris right behind him as he placed his hand on Bane's back.
"Useless.", Polaris spoke before shoving Bane off the car, causing him to fall and tumble at the edge before he managed to grab the edge of the car with Simon towering over him.
"But you? You're no person.", Simon finished to Bane before activating his electromagnetic shoes and stepping on Bane's right hand, making him grunt in pain before giving a smirk.
"So..., that's how I die, huh? Ironic. This is just the way Agent Mace died. I never did like him.", Bane smirked.
"Well, look at it this way. You're dying an honorable Warrior's death.", Simon responded with a smirk as he knelt down to him.
"A warrior's death, huh...? Hm. I think I'll take some pride over that.", Bane smirked, not knowing that Zenith and Polaris were getting up just in time to see Simon turn off his shoes and lift them off Bane's hand with widened eyes (mostly for Zenith's case) before Bane chuckled as he fell down before purple lightning struck at the same time Bane finally met his fate.
"Huh?", Simon puzzled as he raised his eyebrow.
Just then, Zenith roared in a fit of rage as he charged toward Simon to push him off only for Tuba to push him out of the way before getting pushed off herself, forced in the same situation again.
"No!", Tulip shouted.
After that, Simon turned around to notice Tuba in danger again.
"Tuba!", Simon shouted.
"I said, get back to your CAGES!", Zenith shouted before planting his black-robed leg on Tuba's hand, making her scream in pain.
"No!", Amber exclaimed.
"You think you belong? That you can fit in with the rest of society? You are nothing but FILTHY, MINDLESS BEASTS!", Zenith shouted.
"And now, thanks to your heroics, your friends will die along with you!", Polaris added as he grabbed Amber by the shirt, twisted it, lifted her up and tossed her overboard while Zenith pushes Tuba off the car by the hand with his foot.
After that, Tulip gasped before she managed to create a big shield for Tuba and Amber to land on before they could hit the wheel. When they landed, Amber looked up to notice Tulip, holding the big shield up as best she could.
"What?", Amber puzzled.
"Ngh! Okay. Time to get over to the next car, please!", Tulip grunted before Tuba picked Amber up and hopped over to the other car with Simon then heading down to join Tuba and Amber, making Zenith growl in frustration.
"You little brat!", Polaris growled.
"Lake, come on!", Tulip urged before she nodded and dashed forward with her before they jumped up and landed on the other side next to Simon, Tuba, and Amber.
"Um..., thanks for the save?", Amber asked with Tuba giving a nod in agreement.
Then, Polaris stepped forward and spoke ill toward Tulip.
"You're diseased.", Polaris spoke to Tulip.
"What?!", Tulip reacted.
"Your quirks allow you to dream you'll become something bigger. But that way of thinking is an illness of the mind.", Polaris smirked as Tuba and Simon growled again, this time at him before Zenith spoke up next.
"The order of the Train will be restored and there's nothing you can do to change that.", Zenith discouraged.
"I'm offering the world a cure! How hilarious! This girl you wanted to save robbed you of everything you've worked so hard to achieve. She's broken you.", Polaris spoke to Simon before the color clock car then suddenly zoomed out away from their car as lightning struck and flashed brightly, blinding Tulip and the others for a moment before the lightning ceased with Tulip and the others lowering their arms to see where the car used to be.
Meanwhile, in the apparent forest car, Gummi squeaked as he looked around a few times with Atticus, Alan Dracula, Jesse, Miko, Five, and One-One waited nervously while Grace held Hazel.
"I sure hope they make it back.", Five spoke.
"It's fine, they'll be okay.", the turtle girl assured before the door opened with Amber shouting, prompting Gummi to squeak as he turned to where her shouting came from.
"Guys! Over here!", Amber shouted before she, Tulip, Lake, and Simon walked out.
"Atticus!", Tulip grinned.
"Tulip!", Atticus shouted back in relief.
"Oh, you're okay. I'll just keep your obituary on file, then.", Sad One spoke.
"Where's Tuba? Where's Tuba? Where is she?", Hazel asked worriedly as Gummi squeaked.
"Hazel, you're safe.", Simon assured.
"I-Is she...?", Hazel asked before Simon nodded happily just as Tuba came out.
"Yeah.", Simon replied with a grin.
" Just take it easy-peasy... ", Tuba sang with a grin.
Then, Hazel started to tear up as she sang next.
"My little...lemon...SQUEEZY!", Hazel shouted, bursting with tears of joy before running over to Tuba, who picked her up and cradled her before Hazel laughed while shedding tears as Tulip and Gummi looked on with the latter squeaking happily.
"Phew.", Tulip sighed before Simon stood back up with a stretch.
"Told you I could take 'em solo.", Simon grinned.
"But what about Bane?", Jesse asked.
"You don't have to worry about that null again.", Simon assured.
"Wait a minute. Did you...?", Jesse realized.
"Yeah. I wheeled him. But there are a couple of strange things I noticed. For one, Polaris actually helped out with that after calling him 'useless'. And another thing, as he fell, Bane just chuckled, like he knew it was coming.", Simon responded.
"Really?", Grace puzzled.
"Yeah. He must've been tougher to deal with if Polaris hadn't caught him off-guard the way he did.", Simon responded.
"That guy is one strange denizen.", Miko commented just as Tulip was pondering something with Atticus noticing it.
"Something bothering you, Tulip?", Atticus asked.
"Yeah. How could they already know about Hazel and why are they even after her? Polaris said he's giving some kind of 'cure', but...what use could he have for her?", Tulip asked just before Hazel, who was too busy shedding tears of joy while laughing to notice, suddenly grew claws on her fingers, same as Grace before growing a shell on her back with her mouth becoming a beak as her skin turned light green.
Before anyone knew it, she turned into a turtle girl just like Grace did, making the present group gasp in shock, all except for One-One.
"It's a little weird, huh?", Glad One commented.
Meanwhile, at the security camera car, Zenith had thoughts.
"We may have lost our ally in our failure today, but there is always next time.", Zenith smirked as he turned on the monitor of the forest car, showing Hazel in turtle form giggling, currently oblivious of her turtle form.
"Filthy...!", Polaris glared.
"Very entertaining. And really, it's the least you could do after being so easy to find. I mean, honestly. This was almost boring.", Zenith spoke as he turned off the monitor of the forest car.
