It's December in San Francisco and Portia is in her house. It wasn't long before the doorbell rang. As she gets up from her couch and walks towards the door, she opens it to reveal Bessie Higgenbottom, a 9-and-three-quarters-year-old girl. She is wearing a pink coat, purple gloves, a pink hat and purple boots.

"Hey, Portia. I just wanted you to tell you that tomorrow is now Christmas." the bespectacled girl scout chattered.

"Messy, oh, I mean, Bessie? What are you doing here?!" Portia asked.

"You see, while me and my family are hanging out and watching A Christmas Carol, I decided to come to your house." said Bessie.

"No!" yelled Portia. The blonde pre-teen was angered as she slammed the door at Bessie's face. "Bah humbug!"

Mary Frances comes over to Portia to see what's going on.

"Portia! Why did you slam the door at Bessie's face? She was just being kind to you!"

"Because she's ruining my gosh darn life!" Portia complained. "She's clumsy, stubborn and is such a nerd!"

Mary Frances crossed her arms.

"All because she wore glasses?" the matriarch asked.

"Yes!" Portia cried. "She needs to go back with her friend, Penny or that braceface Millie!"

"Oh, I recognize Penny and Millie." Mary Frances replied.

"You do?"

"Yeah, not only I gave them badges, but hugs and praises as well." the redhead woman said.

Mary Frances walked into the Christmas tree where there are seven wrapped presents under the Christmas tree in which it's decorated with ornaments.

"Do you like my Christmas tree?" she asked.

"Um, yes, I guess..." Portia chuckled nervously.

There was a knock on the door.

"Portia can you get the door?" Mary Frances said. "It's probably a friend of yours."

Portia nodded as she comes towards the door and opens it. It was Penny, wearing her winter attire. She was wearing a red beanie, a brown coat, a blue scarf and brown gloves.

"Hey, Portia. I'm going to sing you a Christmas carol." Penny said. As she clears her throat, she began to sing:

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus.

Here comes Santa Claus lane!

"Penny, what kind of Christmas carol is that?"

"It's a Christmas song about Santa Claus." Penny stated. Portia slaps her palm into her face and starts to slide down as she again slams the door to the fat brunette girl's face.

"Bah humbug..." Portia grumbled. Mary Frances looks at her daughter.

"What's wrong, Portia?" she asked.

"When is it when everytime Messy and her stupid friend come over at my door, they try to bother me!" Portia yelled.

"They're just your friends." Mary Frances told her daughter.

"Friends? They are never my friends to begin with!"

"Honey, calm down." Portia, while ignoring her mother, rolls her eyes and starts to walk up the stairs. "Maybe they want to spend Christmas with you."

"BAH HUMBUG!" Portia cried out as she slammed the door. Mary Frances, worried about her daughter, notices that something is wrong with her daughter. She was acting like Ebenezer Scrooge, the main character from A Christmas Carol.
