"You look super cute."

She repeated the words Shippo had said like a mantra in her head as she wiped her sweaty palms on the blue pleated mini-skirt she was wearing. If she said it enough times then maybe she would believe it. She plucked at the high neck, long-sleeved dove gray shirt that ruffled down the center with a frown. Small feet were adorned with black ankle boots and a low heel to match her obsidian bag. Inky hair piled into an artfully messy bun and her jewelry accented the outfit well.

Once he had caught wind that she had a date, Shippo had taken her shopping and bought her an outfit, declaring her wardrobe was horrendous and not date material. She just hoped he wasn't biased (although she was pretty sure he was) and that Kuroo would think the same.

After fighting demons, a date with a teenage boy shouldn't be difficult, right?

She couldn't seem to swallow and her heart was threatening to jump out of her chest.

The Captain of the Volleyball team had walked her to her station and home after that. He had very sweetly then asked her if she would like to go out on a date with him. Kuroo was handsome, nice, and Kenma thought well of him. She really had no reason to say no and took a chance. Now she was standing in front of a fountain right outside of a station several stops away from school, waiting for said date.

She tried not look at her phone and instead wiped her hands again.

What if he didn't show? What if he backed out and thought he had made a mistake? What if he -

"Ahh, have you been waiting long?" Kuroo's deep tenor broke into her thoughts and she flushed crimson when she looked up to see him standing in front of her, a wide grin touching his lips as he leaned toward her. Her eyes flicked over him and she swallowed, wondering how the school uniform had hidden his broad shoulders and lean muscled frame.

She felt a little overdressed compared to his ripped black jeans, white t-shirt, and black boots. She shifted and his own hazel hues perused her form. Before she could answer, his throat suddenly cleared, "You look stunning, Kagome."

She smiled in response, relaxing ever so slightly at the compliment, her heart fluttering pleasantly, "You do too. Although I probably would have come a little more casual!"

He stood straight and shook his head, "Nah, I wouldn't change a thing about you!" Kuroo seemed to contemplate for a moment before he reached his hand out and grasped her own loosely, giving her an option to pull away, "Is this okay?"

Kagome tightened her hand in his and nodded, wetting her lips as she did so. Hojou hadn't been so bold but honestly she shouldn't have been surprised. Kuroo was confident and comfortable and she was too! She just needed to get past her embarrassment and nerves. Just because she hadn't been on a date in a few years, didn't mean she had to go stumbling around.

"So where to?"

He tugged her behind him excitedly and she found his mood infectious, "Back to the station!"

As they made their way back in the station, he kept his strides even with hers, and held onto her tightly amidst the hustle and bustle of people. When they boarded, he maneuvered her against the wall of the train and placed himself between her and the crowd. Both of them were furiously blushing in no time. Not that she didn't appreciate it, it was just a tight fit and her back was pressed to his front. She didn't know which would be worse, being able to see his face in the reflection of the window, or if she was turned around and pressed to his chest.

For his part Kuroo hadn't really thought this far and wasn't sure if it was a blessing or curse to be pressed so intimately against her. Firstly, she was gorgeous, a fact that he had meant wholeheartedly when he saw her. The school uniform had not prepared him for just how lovely she looked outside of it. Secondly, he could scent her perfume and the shampoo she used on her hair with how close she was. He could easily fall into the spell that she was weaving on her scent alone.

He leaned over and murmured into her ear, "You okay? It's just a few stops more."

The young woman bobbed her head furiously, a small choked, "Y-yes!" Coming from her lips and he couldn't stop from teasing her.

"You sure?" His lips tilted upward, "You look a little flushed!" He made a choking sound, eyes wide when he felt her elbow dig into his chest unforgivingly. He met her eyes in the window and saw her brows furrowed, lips set in a pretty scowl. "Ow! What was that for?"

Her arms crossed under her chest, "Behave. You tease me? You get an elbow! Or a foot! Or a hand! Wherever I can reach!" He was so shocked by the ire in her cerulean orbs that he started laughing. How did he not know that the sweet and friendly girl that Kenma hung out with had such fire in her personality? "What's so funny?"

He smothered his laughter with his hand and knew that his future was going to be filled with more pain. There was no way in hell that he was going to be able to stop teasing her now that he knew what a reaction he would get! He waved off her question just as they arrived at the correct station. He grasped her hand and was tugging her out of the car with a quick, "We're here!" As he guided her out.

Once outside, Kuroo began to lead her away on a mission. With a roll of her eyes, she could do little more than follow.

.

"The aquarium!" Kuroo looked down at his companion and the surprise accompanied by the excitement. A movie was boring. He wanted to actually spend time with her and talk, enjoy being with her. "I haven't been here since I was little!"

Soon it was him being tugged toward the entrance and he suppressed a chuckle. Kenma had suggested the arcade which was also a good idea but he was suddenly glad that he went with his gut. They would save the arcade for next time.

He made a sound and began to walk to her another entrance, pulling his phone out as they went, "I already bought tickets." She began to protest but his phone was already being scanned, "It's a date, Kagome."

Her protesting fell on deaf ears so she pouted instead and said, "Thank you."

"No problem!" He scanned a QR code with his phone and pulled up the aquarian map on his screen "Now where to first?"

She leaned over the screen, her chest pressed against his arm, and he tried not to blush, "Oh! There is a sea lion show in five minutes and it's next to the stingrays!"

Pocketing his phone, he entangled their fingers, "Well then, let's hurry!"

And then they were off to have fun.

.

Kagome's head slipped onto his shoulder when she fell asleep to the rocking of a fairly empty train car. He couldn't help but grin at the sight she made. Her hair was carelessly falling around her and she had a shirt from the park on over the cute one she had been wearing. Plump lips parted in a small snore and he couldn't hold himself back from whipping his phone out and snapping a cute picture of them to commemorate the occasion and tease her with later.

All and all, he felt the date gone splendidly.

He didn't have the heart to wake her when they reached her stop so instead he bent in front of her and coaxed her into his back. She mumbled something about a dog in her sleep but settled easily enough. He remembered where she lived from the last time he had taken her home and began the trek there.

He tried not to think about how her boneless weight settled her breasts firmly against his back or the fact that his hands were gripping around her thighs, the skin there soft and warm.

Reaching the shrine stairs made him give a light huff but also a quick thank you to volleyball because otherwise he wouldn't have the stamina of strength to keep going. As he touched the top step he gently jostled her awake, "Hey - Kagome? You're home. Kagome?"

Kagome grumbled cutely (in his opinion) and then she was blinking awake. It took her a few seconds to realize where she was at. For a moment she thought she was with Inuyasha - but the shoulders were wrong and the fabric of the shirt was softer. There wasn't any long hair to tinkle her nose and the scent wasn't right either. She felt the muscular back and softer hands - human hands - at her thighs. Her brows furrowed at the dark hair that was sticking upright and she remembered her date.

With a startled sound she slid off Kuroo's back, "Kyah! I am so sorry! Why didn't you wake me? I can't believe you carried me all the way back and up the shrine!" She started to fix her clothing as she stared at the older boy in embarrassment.

For his part, he looked a little sheepish and smug, "It was no problem. You looked too cute to wake!" She flushed brightly. "But we're lucky I play sports and work out otherwise I wouldn't have made it! The stairs are killer."

She bowed her head to him in thanks and apology, "I really am sorry, I'll make it up to you!"

Kuroo grinned and stepped forward, crowding her space and making her heart race, "I wonder how you're going to do that." His grin widened and his hazel eyes flashed as he took her hand. "Hmm, Kagome?"

She yanked her hand back with a scowl, "I suddenly don't feel bad." She pushed passed him and was walking to her door but his light grip on her elbow had her pause and look back at him with an arched brow as though to ask, 'what?'

He tempered his teasing nature and this time when he stepped forward there was something genuine and soft in his voice that made her stomach curl in knots, "I had a great time and I hope you did too."

Unprepared for the admission she blinked, "Oh! Uh - yes, I had a lot of fun."

He hummed and took another step and lifted a hand to cup her chin. He rubbed his thumb along the apple of her cheek and she was sure he could feel the burn of her skin. His gaze was tracing her features and she fought not to look away, surprised by how tender he was being. "Would you like to go on another date? I'd like to see you again outside of school."

She was suddenly shy and she cursed herself at the unexpected feeling but honestly it was hard to look at him when he was being serious. His attractive features only became more attractive when he was being genuine.

"I'd like that."

His smile was wide and bright when he murmured a quiet, 'good' as he leaned over.

His lips hovered above her skin for just a moment, allowing her to to either pull away or stay there. She didn't move, breathing stilled, heart racing. A moment later and his lips were brushing her brow softly. The action was sweet, sweet enough that she felt her eyes burn when she closed them. Had anyone touched her so delicately? He could have kissed her lips and she would have allowed it, after all it was a date, but instead he opted to kiss her along her brow softly.

He pulled away, a light dust of pink on his cheeks and then she was staring at his back as he called out a backwards, "See you, at school!"

She stood there for several minutes after he left, still reeling from the new emotions when her phone chimed.

It was from Kuroo.

Can't wait to show Kenma how cute you looked.

Features scrunched in confusion, she was about to text him back when a picture came through. It was of her sleeping with her mouth open on his shoulder.

"Kuroo!"

Kagome swore she heard him laughing from the stairs.

And if that wasn't bad enough, there was a whistling from her window and she turned to look into amused turquoise eyes.

Ahh! Thanks as usual for your support. I am just gonna be popping random stuff out. I am more of a drama or emotional type of writer so fluff just isn't my forte. But with a story like Haikyuu there isn't much you can do! This a collection so I will mark as complete and add as I get ideas. Let me know what you think?
