It was practically nothing but peace and quiet for The Brain. His fellow partner in crime Pinky had to be taken in to do some lab experiments, so he didn't have anyone to bother him while he was making yet another plan to take over the world. At first it didn't really matter to Brain that Pinky was absent due to one reason stated above, but the more Pinky was gone the more Brain started to become concerned. It started to make him wonder if something bad actually happened to Pinky. He knew he was most likely overreacting, but who knows?

Then after about 3 hours of Brain waiting and lab experiments done on Pinky, the two scientists doing the experiments brought back a box that looked like the typical Christmas present: only it was a blue box wrapped up in a red bow. The scientist carrying the box was a woman with black hair and green eyes, while the scientist next to her was a man with brown hair and blue eyes.

"Whew! Well those were some tiring experiments. You were right that they were going to be harder than expected Brendon." The female scientist said.

"I mean, when have I ever been wrong May?" The male scientist replied.

The female scientist put the box in the glass cage. "Well here you go little fella!" She said. She and the male scientist then proceeded to walk away from the cage and out the door.

Brain looked nervously at the box. Who knows what's in there? Maybe it was an evil villain with a laser beam who would've blasted Brain the moment after seeing him, or maybe it was a snake that would've eaten Brain on sight. And maybe worse... Brain was too scared to think of all the horrifying possibilities.

He unwrapped the ribbon and took off the lid not even daring to look inside the box, although he prepared himself what the terrifying thing he might encounter, when all of a sudden...

A tall mouse popped out of the box with a "NARF!", making Brain jump. "PINKY? You're alive?" Brain asked.

"Yes I am Brain!" Pinky replied. "I was really good in the lab. So good that they even gave me a squeaky ball!" He held up the ball. It was a small green ball and it had a smiley face on it. Pinky squeezed it. It made a squeaky noise which made Pinky laugh.

Now that Brain was aware of Pinky's aliveness, he had another question. "Alright then. Since you are alive and well, I have another question: WHY were you in a Christmas box?" He inquired.

"Gee Brain, I'm not sure." Pinky replied. "If I had to make a guess though, it would be that you must've really missed me a lot while I was gone, so they thought they could put me in a Christmas present so that me coming home would feel like a Christmas gift!"

Brain blushed a tiny bit at this response although he wasn't sure if Pinky could see it. "Oh Pinky... can I kiss you!" The question came so completely out of nowhere that it even surprised Brain a bit.

"Why of course you can Brain!" Pinky replied catching Brain off guard.

Since Pinky accepted the request, Brain decided to go for it. He went up to the box and motioned for Pinky to lean down to him. Pinky opened his mouth slightly and leaned towards Brain. Brain moved towards Pinky a bit before embracing his lab mice partner in a small and simple kiss. While they were kissing Pinky leaned over too far and accidentally tipped over the box, breaking up the kiss and pushing both him and Brain to the ground.

Pinky looked down at Brain who was underneath him from being tipped over by the box. Pinky sat up giving Brain space to sit up as well. Pinky was about to open up his mouth before Brain stopped him. "No, no. No need to apologize Pinky." He said kind of softly. Pinky had no idea how Brain knew that was what he was going to do, but he didn't bother questioning it.

Pinky put his arm around Brain with Brain returning the favor by doing so back. Before the day ended Brain had something to say to Pinky. It had already been done so many times, but Brain had to get this information out to Pinky.

"Pinky?"

"Yes Brain?"

"...I love you. I hope you know that."

Pinky got filed with glee and hugged Brain. "Ohhhhh I love you too Brain!" He hugged Brain in a tight embrace. Brain couldn't help but hug his partner back in the same embrace. As they hugged the sun went down, turning the sky into a beautiful orange painting.
