A/N: Thank you for the comments. - Sorry this one is on the short side, I have been maxed at work.

fun 1 - My intention is to keep it light hearted, but there will be one or two moments of (light) drama.

"Problem Sir?" Lorne questioned as he noticed John sitting at his desk frowning.

"I don't know." John said. "You know much about Fletcher?"

"The new Captain?" Lorne asked.

"That's the one."

"He seems to be trying too hard, especially in training. But hasn't done anything wrong. Why?"

"He volunteered to go off-world with the Doc."

"Well he is either an adrenaline junkie, completely oblivious, or more likely he is trying to win your favour. But Cadman may know more. They were on the Apollo together for the trip over."

"Good point, I'll check with the Lieutenant." John said before looking down at the report once more only for Lorne to ask.

"So how was the golf?"

"What golf?"

"Golf with the doc."

"She told you?"

"After I asked." Lorne said.

"It was good." John replied.

"Why golf?" Lorne probed.

"What's wrong with golf?"

"Nothing. Well normally. For a date, fake or otherwise, with someone who hates golf, it was an interesting choice."

"She hates golf?" John asked.

"Yes. You really don't know her well do you?"

"It's not like we have really talked much. I mean she has spent most of her time here holed up in the infirmary."

"So have you." Lorne muttered.

"If she hates golf so much why did she agree?" John said either ignoring or not hearing Lorne's comment.

"As a thank you. She feels guilty about the flack you are taking."

"So what would you suggest doing with the doc?" John asked.

"I can't help you." Lorne said.

"Sure you can, you know her better than anyone."

"In a brotherly way, not a dating way."

"We aren't actually dating." John reminded him. "Even so you must know what she likes. What about favourite food?"

"Not available in Pegasus." Lorne said.

"Okay, well how about I suggest somethings and you tell me to forget it if you think it is a bad idea."

"That sounds like a solid plan." Lorne agreed.

"How about rock climbing?" John asked.

"If you are trying to kill her. She is terrified of heights."

"Good point." John said. "This might be more difficult than I thought."

"Morning doc." John smiled as he entered the infirmary.

"Colonel. Aren't you meant to be going on a mission?"

"Pushed back until tomorrow morning."

"So what can I do for you?"

"I understand golf isn't your thing."

"What? No. Golf is great. All that swinging with a bat."

"Club." John corrected.

"Club, it's great."

"You don't have to lie. Besides I am sure we can think of something we both like."

"What's wrong with an occasional dinner in the mess hall?" Jennifer asked.

"Are you sure you are okay with that? I mean it is like a goldfish bowl."

"I'm fine. Wait, is it ruining your street cred?"

"Street cred?" John asked. "Are you being serious?"

"Well yeah."

"No it's not ruining my street cred. I just thought you might like some privacy. Have a think about it and when I get back you can pick the activity." John said. "Anyway I better go."

-00-

"I think I know why you are so bad at dating." Cadman said as she approached Jennifer in the infirmary the next morning.

"What?" Jennifer asked.

"You put no effort in. The least you could have done was saw the Colonel off."

"Has he gone somewhere?" Jennifer asked.

"His mission. You are the Galaxy's worst girlfriend."

"He's gone already? I thought he wasn't going until tomorrow?"

"It is tomorrow." Laura pointed out.

"It is?" Jennifer asked looking at her watch.

"Did you get any sleep?"

"No. I was trying to figure this genome out."

"I can see how that is better than a date with the Colonel." Laura said sarcastically just as Woolsey summoned Jennifer to the control room.

-00-

"Has something happened to the Colonel already?" Jennifer asked as she entered Woolsey's office.

"No. Well I hope." Woolsey said. "We have had a request for help from the Lumbos."

"What's happened?" Jennifer asked frowning.

"Nothing too serious, but the child you helped a few weeks ago is showing signs of a relapse."

"I'll get my kit." Jennifer said.

"Good. As Colonel Sheppard and Major Lorne are not in the city I have assigned Captain Fletcher to you. His team will be ready in ten minutes."

-00-

"Dr Keller." Fletcher said as he entered the infirmary.

"Captain." She replied as she checked her supplies.

"My team is escorting you today. Can I take your bags?"

"Yes please. That one is ready to go." She said pointing before zipping up her other bag and slinging it over her shoulder.

"Ready?" Fletcher asked.

"I am."

"I know I am new here, but there is no need to be nervous." Fletcher said.

"I think it is because you are new that you are saying that." Jennifer replied.

"Ma'am?" He asked confused.

"I don't have the best of luck off world." Jennifer said.

"It can't be that bad. I mean you are still here." He argued.

"Well I have had good teams backing me up." Jennifer pointed out.

"And you do today as well." Fletcher replied. "Besides loosing the Colonel's girl on my first mission would be career limiting and I have plans."

"Well I am not sure the Pegasus Galaxy is that concerned about your career plans." Jennifer countered. "But I like your optimism."
